Guy's, the worst has come. On http://ign.com,  Futurama season 3 has been given a 7 out of 10. Seasons 1 & 2 have been givin a 9. They say the video is plauged with interlacing errors. I'm sad. But I won't give up hope. the last time they said a dvd had interlacing errors, my dvd's worked just fine with no problems.

Info: Interlacing errors are when the video is broken up and lines are across the screen.

He does also say that the commentaries are worse than those for season two, which is not at all what the consensus here was on the best audio commentary thread. Still, technical issues may be a problem from region to region.  Aren't interlacing issues specific to players, though? My computer usually has them on animated shows to a minor degree, but my dedicated DVD player is fine.

Aside: Looking at the screenshot of AWITM, wow! Is that how that episode actually looks? My copy really does suck, then. I can't wait for those DVDs!

edit: Spacepilot3000, could you PLEASE shorten your WOOOO or cut it on to two lines, or something? I know you are excited, but I don't like to sidescroll when not necessary.

I wouldn't listen to that IGN review (well, actually, I wouldn't listen to IGN full stop  ). The season three commentaries are great, and while one or two of duffs (I Loved A Robot, I'm looking in your direction), there are so many times I almost fell down laughing  .

I hope so. When they said Aqua Teen Hunger Force had interlacing problems, I watched it on my X-Box and they were present. However, on my sony DVD player, they were gone. I e-mailed the website and asked them about the interlacing issues. I should hear from them shortly.

Fry's mouth when he says "and that's how you play the game" on Space Pilot 3000 on the dvd is an example of an interlacing error, correct?

I hope this isn't as big a problem as they make it seem.

I'm pretty sure that the captions were joke captions.  They seem to assume that people are familiar with the content and focus on the extras and technical aspects.

maybe the interlacing is from THEIR DVD player. My season 2 dvd does that but my Xbox is connected to my VCR and they clearly said on the DVD Manual that it's better to connect your Xbox directly to the TV...however for me, interlacing is rare and it doesn't bother me.

I'm still excited!!!! I'm jumpin up and down!!! Season 3!!! WOO!

Are we going to use this thread to review the set once we get it? You know, see the differences between R1 and R2 versions, yadda, yadda yadda.
Also, the interlacing error is probably nothing to worry about. It probably depends on what you're watching the DVD on. My computer plays differently than my DVD player, for example.

I believe the winners will be announced this Friday. I'm actually holding off on ordering the DVD set on the off chance that I win. CGEF is being particularly tight-lipped about the number of entries, so I can't really say what my odds of winning are.
