I know the Australian ones don't have the plastic cover, but I don't know about the US and European ones, but I think they ARE the same.

I beleve they are the same apart from of course the encoding. The european (region 2) disks will not play in an american (region 1) player or computer.

EDIT: Also see this thread:

There is a difference in the packaging.  The Region 1 sets have the slim cases instead of the regular dvd cases.  Makes the overall package a much nicer size IMO.  Also from what I understand there is some difference in the protective sleeves for the sets.  But if you don't care about that then the content is the same except for the foreign languages that are available and some promo stuff.  But the eps, comentary, deleted scenes and easter eggs are the same.

Is there a North American date for the next set?

Oh, and happy I've found this place.   :)

I don't think a date has been set, but most people are speculating it will come out around March 2004. If you have a region-free DVD player and don't mind paying a little more, you can import the region 2 Season 3 set. Season 4 is set to come out in November on Region 2 as well.

Thanks for the info. I'm just gonna wait. Actually, I still need to get Season One. I'd been focused on The Simpson sets first, but I'm going to get season one before I leave for school.
