well they had talked about the possibility of doing a movie or triology
so perhaps one could be about getting fry and leela together another one could be continuing the fight with the nibblonians against the brains and who knows what the other could be maybe some kind of putting everything in its right place for the other charcters.
and of course after success of those movies, they'd probably get commison'd for another series once they've finished everyones stories

A movie trilogy would allow them to devote a few minutes at the start of the first film to let new viewers catch up. Update:Just finished watching the whole set, seen everything now. The commentary for Where No Fan Has Gone Before was quite interesting, they talk about how Shatner was reluctant to take part, and was mostly swayed by getting to record with Nemoy. The last 15 seconds of the TDHAIP commentary track made me more teary eyed than any ending of a Futurama ep ever did: They all thank each other and just say that it was a pleasure to work on the show. And all the while you can hear Matt saying "This can't be the end....no..no." Very moving indeed. Also, hopefully somewhat prophetic:
Maurice - "Come on Matt, you have some plan to save your show"
And then right as the 30th Century FOX logo appears:
Maurice - "Tell them Matt, it's time" Matt - "See you all on the next DVD boxset"
At this moment in time I'm filled with a great sadness, there is truly no justice in the world. Now I'm just waiting for the day when CGEF has a news update with the heading, "Good News Everyone!"

The closest you'll get to seeing Futurama again is a direct to video movie, that's if seasons 3 and 4 sell well enough. The good thing about animation is the fact that the for a movie budget isn't that much more than the average episode. Which would make any sales on a release a decent profit. A movie would be too expensive to distribute and advertise for Fox, especially considering Fox's additude towards the show. Even Family Guy which costs less and has a larger popularity than Futurama isn't getting a theatrical movie. Anything beyond a DTV is nothing more than a fanboy dream.

Yesterday before sleep I watched the final episode. What a strange feeling that was. :/ But although it's really sad there won't be any more episodes of Futurama (or will there?), at least it didn't get to the point where it's just crappy... like the last 3 seasons or something of the Simpsons. Then again, who knows how many great episodes there would have been if they only got the chance to make them. Oh well... Anyway... IMHO, season 4 is the best one there is. And Futurama is the best cartoon series there is (no IMHO ).

Overall, they are damn funny though. There's a great story in the commentary for Bend Her, in fact they pretty much talk all the way through since it isn't such a funny episode!
Gay Man and the Ghost! sorry to be anal but its gay guy and the ghost hmm anal and gay i wont mention those two words together again. but what i loved even more was john doing a voice of the gay guy mike rowe describes it had me hysterical the worst commentary is on a taste of freedom as harldy anything's being said

Maurice LaMarche had to be my favourite commentator for this series. The way he would just suddenly come out with "INTERESTING STUFF" or "You've watched it, Youn can't un-watch it" had me in stiches for some reason...
