Well, I was probably one on the first to pick it up this morning, but you didn't hear from me becasue I was busy watching. I've watched the commentaries for KGKUAN, Spanish Fry and The Devils Hands. Matt sound genuinally upset as the final credits role "Wait, this is the end, Oh man this can't be the end, no" He sounds like a kid who was having too much fun on the swings and now he has to come in for tea. Anyway, the packaging is the best of the lot, and the menus are really well done. The deleted scenes i've watched are great too. More later.

I'd just like to make a few comments about the episodes I've watched today. KGKUAN is probably the most wasted potential ever in a Futurama episode with what I personally thought was a great idea reduced to uninspiring pap by a total lack of conviction, and Bend Her displayed how John DiMaggio's camp tendencies are much, much more digestible in small doses. However, the 11 episodes that these two atrocities bookend are amongst the best body of work that Futurama has ever done, and to me suggested that the cancellation of the show came just as the Futurama writers had hit their real creative potential. Which is bloody typical.

I still think Season 3 was the best. It had the best F&L episodes (Parasites Lost, Time Keeps on Slippin'), the best A&K episode in Amazon Women in the Mood, possibly the best Bender episode in Godfellas, along with The Day the Earth Stood Stupid, all time classic Luck of the Fryrish, and Roswell That Ends Well, which is about to win the Fall Madness contest! Sadly, all a lot of so-called fans do is bitch about the season's one godawful episode (That's Lobstertainment!), and then go on about how bad Season 3 was! Honestly, there's no pleasing some people...

Well, after a marathon session, I watched all 18 episodes, with commentary, in order, back to back. I've still got the additional JB commentary to listen to, and the easter eggs, though, which makes me happy , but no more episodes, which makes me sad. And I think people give a lot of Futurama's "Worst" episodes too much stick. If I were to rank them with percentage, there'd probably only be about 20% difference between top and bottom. Even "The Cryonic Woman" didn't make me do one thing some of the worst episodes from other series (including The Simpsons) did, and that's to physically make me cringe. And no episode has got me mad, unlike a certain Star Trek series finale. I know I talk down "The Sting", "Farnsworth Parabox", among others, but I still love them. To be perfectly honest, there is not a single one of the 72 episodes I would throw out if the alternative was fewer episodes. Anyway, the S4 set is IMO the best yet (in terms of packaging and features). One slightly annoying thing is the WNFHGB commentary where the talking stops for about 5 minutes towards the end, but it's nothing huge (especially considering how brilliant I find that episode ). Great set : Well-deserving of an A. EDIT: By the way, I just "reclaimed" 3GB of space off my drive.

i though KGKUAN was a really funny but underated episode. i didn't have any problems with bend her, i think thats some good voice acting to just layer the feminie quality the benders voice.
i really think season 4 was by far the best

Yes they will play on an Xbox, but xboxes are restricted to their region, unless you get them chipped (like mine)

This DVD includes a specialy encoded easter egg which you are now meticulously translating from an alien language because you have no life and are a compulsive nerdlinger. How sad. Its especialy sad if you don't speak english and you have to translate the alien language into english and then into your own tongue and you come upon a word like nerdlinger which really isn't a word at all, but still aptly describes someone who would actually translate such a word. twice. and those of you who are reading this translation on a futurama newsgroup aren't any better. We lurk on these newsgroups and we know what nerdlingers you guys are, too. of course, you're also probably our biggest fans. which is sad in its way. but, since you went to all this trouble to translate an easter egg. we do owe you something, so here's a secret about the show: the writers, producers, directors, and most of the actors who worked on the show are all nerdlingers, too. Wow, that might be the last alien language left to translate... edited to remove extra capitalisation

Thanx for the translation I just love being able to watch my Season 4 DVD's in production order, they way they were intended to be shown. Instead of the crapped up order Fox showed them in.

I was rather surprised that they made a mistake on the commentary for Kif Gets Knocked up a Notch, they say that the part where the part where the Nimbus swallows the Planet Express ship is based on Moonraker, the way it is done is clearly based on You only Live Twice

It's not bad, actually. Personally I prefer it over the animation commentary for Roswell, although a fair part of it could go over any episode. But they're very animated in it (no pun intended ), and describe the writing process and their facilities, among other things.

I just finished watching the DVDs, so i've finally seen all the episodes.
As everyone else has said, they are fantastic and the commentaries are as entertaining as ever, although not enough John Dimaggio for my liking.
The only criticism i've got (and its a timy one) is that a few of the commentaries get cut off by the fox fanfare (strangely appropraite); on the series 3 dvds a couple of commentaries spill over the episodes but they are allowed to finish.

Sorry to disappoint you bankrupt, but i dont think they mention it, they spend more time talking about how the universes are connected.
Surely at the time, in I dated a robot, there were only 2 universes, but the professor created a load more in The Farnsworth Parabox.
