Welcome to PEEL zoidbypogostick!

I'm in Australia and I got this insert in my season 2 dvd set that says it is coming out in June. I think it will be at all major stores. If not you can always get it online.

Alex did the insert say whether it was still on GameCube or not?

In Europe the release date is 4th July, as of when I wrote this post. That will be all.

This is what the insert says:

Futurama is a game 1000 years ahead of its time - straight from the 31st Century comes an action platform game based on the Emmy Award winning animated program - the brainchild of The Simpsons creator Matt Groening.

Playing as Fry, Bender and Leela your mission is to save earth from the evil clutches of businesswoman, Mom. Battling the forces of her 'Hover-Bot Death Troopers' your adventure will take you from the Planet Expree HQ through the streets of futuristic New New York and the sewers of Old New York, to bizarre alien planets and even the surface of the sun.

Featuring a brand new Futurama script from an award winning Futurama writer, voice actors from the show and exclusive new animation footage Futurama on Playstation 2, Xbox and Game Cube is a hugely entertaining and wonderfully authentic game that no fan or newcomer will want to miss.

Available June '03

It then has a few screen shots that I haven't seen before, but nothing that exciting.

Any ideas on a US release date? (This is one thing I can't import.)

Can't we keep all Futurama game news in the Futurama Game Thread, instead of having lots of spin-offs about new footage, or release date threads?
Other then that, nice article /\

I was just checking out amazon.com and it only had PS2 and Xbox versions of the game. And as the release date (PS2 at least) it said August 15, 2003

I stopped by a Gaming store here in the US, and they told me that they were taking pre-orders for an August 13 release date.  I think it'll be around 50-60$US, though I'll pay 45$ after my hold down payment.

If you go to IGN and search for "Futurama" under "enter a title", the results list the gamecube version as cancelled.  So, all cube only owners (including me) should probably just give up on the possibility of a cube version.  Rent or borrow a PS2 or X-Box if you really need to, and rent or borrow the game.  That's basically what I'm going to do, at least unless/until I get a PS2 down the line.

oh my god!! READ this NOW!!!!! its from here . http://http://www.futuramathegame.co.uk/

Are there any cheats or secrets to unlock in FUTURAMA - THE GAME?

In every level of the game, there are one or more Nibblonians imprisoned in cages. If you manage to free all the Nibblonians on a level, then you'll unlock all the content associated with that level, to be viewed at your leisure. So, if you do this for every level, not only will you have a collection of Chris Tyng tunes (he's the guy who does the music for the show, and has penned several original tunes for the game),  but you'll also have a complete, unbroadcast episode of the show you can watch whenever you want.    You'll also have a complete gallery of the loading screens, all of which are sight gags taken from or inspired by the show, with the Matt Groening seal of approval. If you're a Futurama fan, this really is a must-have.

Emmmmmm...you DO realise that the "unbroadcast show" they mention is just the cut-scenes from the game all stuck together to form an episode, right? It aint an episode with the Futurama animation and Rough Draft etc etc.

At least, that's what the other previews I've read have said.

no rough draft  involvement true - but it is scripted by J stewart burns and the whole game is based on this episode - gotta be worth watchin'

No, you won't. A complete episode of Futurama costs in excess of $1,000,000. That's probably more that the game's budget. There's no way you could have a full quality (ie, fully hand animated) episode. Ever.

It's probably an episode scripted and voiced, but animated by the game system's renderer.

Yeah it is, and then split up into small portios in between each of the game's 22 levels. So about a minute long each I'd say, leaving extra for the longer intro and finale movies.

For Canadians and Americans:
amazon.ca lists the games release date as August 13, where as ebgames.com, amazon.com and walmart.com (just checking everything out) lists the date as August 12. futureshop.ca does not have a release date for it yet.

Oh, well, I'll just go into Future Shop on August 12 and buy the season 2 DVd and if I can get the game I'll get them both, but if not I guess I can wait a day, then make ny mom drive me to the store again since I refuse to drive the van because it keeps stalling for no damn reason.
