Mmmmmmmm...double commentaries. That sounds like 3 completely different viewings of a half hour episode. Woo hoo!!! More Futurama for your money.

Why would they need to redo it just because it won the Emmy?

Maybe they're specifically talking about the way the ep was made etc in the second commentary, as opposed to just sitting cracking jokes and laughing at John DiMaggio's ad libbing.

So are both going to be on the disc, or just the later version?

Seems that the easter egg is directed by Brian Sheesley.

So the episodes it could relate to can be Route of all evil, Futurestock and Amazon Women in the mood (the last one especially since it is rated 12 ).

Hmmm ... that's interesting, that doesn't totally jive with my info. The Easter Eggs I'm aware of don't have anything to do with those 3 episodes. Though, there are a couple of possibilities that might link Sheesley with one of the Eggs.

BTW — Despite the obvious answer to the above posed question, yes, BOTH commentaries for "Roswell That Ends Well" are going to be included.

Two commentaries? I just hope they don't use this to increase the price for the DVD-Box. "Now with two commentaries!" FOX HE could pull this off.

Boy, I'm gonna be regretting that for the rest of my days, ain't I  ;).

Surely the director is not an indicator of what the easter egg is focused on, it's just that they picked somebody to make it? After all, the three episodes quoted aren't really linked to each other, so why should the easter egg be?

The 2 of the 3 easter eggs includes stuff that existed before the making of the DVDs, though they may have been edited by someone (Sheesley?). The 3rd easter egg is a large group of stills.

I assumed (wrongly it seems) that they wouldn't create something new, and would be dependent of material they already had. Hence my thought that it would relate  to one of the mentioned episodes.

Well, we live and learn. Just wished that Futufan could tell us more.

damn, I got burned on my first post      :o

EDIT: And he just did 1 minute before I pressed submit

That's a decent assumption (and a correct one, at that) -- do you guys seriously want me to spoil the surprise on those Easter Eggs?

Hey! To quote Fry: "Yay! I'm a delivery boy!"

You know, I bet if we say yes, we're gonna regret it, but if we wait, we'll get impatient  ;).

I'm willing to wait until June, personally (although that'll probably get pushed back to August, knowing FOX  :().

Oh, and congratulations, futufan  ;). Soon I too hope to join the ranks of the Delivery boys  ;).

Thanks CyberKnight and PCC Fred ... it's been a long road -- please know I won't take my new promotion lightly. Hang in there CyberKnight, you'll make it someday!  :)

On the Easter Egg thing — it's like opening your Christmas presents early. You have to ask yourself, do you regret it on Christmas morning?

I guess I could start a new post and label it SPOILERS. We'll see ...

BTW, are the 3D Models going to be plain videos or rotatable models (i.e. can be seen from any angle)?

Oh ... to be honest, I don't know how the 3D Models will be featured. I think they're just videos of 360° turnarounds.

As I explained somewhere before, it would be impractical to feature actual 3D models, but it's possible to have Quicktime VR style models, obviously not in real time, but pre-recorded video. As Futufan says, a simple 360 video is the most probable form of presentation.
