Yes! A Virgin MegaStore! I want Virgin MegaStores here. I got the info on my exact hotel. It's one block off Oxford Street at around Regents Street. It's a different one from last time, which was on Great Russell Street.

Don't you guys have them everywhere in the US? I know I saw one in NY, but is that a one-off?

I think there are a few in the US. One in NYC, LA, DC, Chicago, SF probably - the big cities. I live in a city of 150,000 in central northwest North Carolina (an area called the Triad if anyone cares). We don't have a Virgin MegaStore. Hell, I've never heard of Virgin Cola! Pepsico was started just about a hundred miles from here, and Coca-Cola was started about a 5 hour drive away in Atlanta. I'm in the heart of American cola country. I do know of Virgin Airlines - I almost talked my parents into using them to get us to London. Instead, we chose to fly Envoy (Business) Class on USAirways, a direct flight from Charlotte to Gatwick. Exactly the same flights as last time. Different class, different aircraft (I hope - our other one had a broken emergency door so they had to fly a spare in from Philadelphia), but same flight numbers. It came down to that or British Airways through either Dulles or BWI (I don't remember which), but USAirways gave us nearly free tickets - we had a lot of frequent flier miles, so the choice was clear.

What's "a one-off"?

Heh. Guess Americans don't have (or need   :p) that phrase.

A "one-off" is where you've got an exception, rather than a rule. For example, if the only Megastore was in NY and nowhere else in the US, that would a one-off - i.e. the only one.

By the way, that trailer finally resolves the box-art question - I guess Fry will be on the spine, and the episode list (presumably, it's not shown) will be on the opposite side to him.

Relating to the trailer, does anyone have any idea where the deleted scene they show with all the censored swearing fits in? Looks pretty awesome, cant wait at all now!

EDIT:

few more things I noticed- There are 2 frames where it appears to be David X, sitting outside fox, in a hat, eating a choc top ice cream, also the first disc has the first 6 eps on it. also there is a single frame of bender with his head in a bowl of soylent green, in his iron cook costume, which doesnt appear in the 30% iron chef episode.

EDIT2: AL1 before count down reads

Cool, anyway, something kinda related... Today I picked up a flyer in Virgin Megastore (Swindon) and it advertised Futurama Season 3. But when I read what they said, I couldn't believe that they said the highlight of the entire set was 'That's Lobstertainment'  What did they do, pick an ep out of the hat? :p

But I respect their desicion, at least they're advertising it  :)

Swindon, eh? Interesting.  ;)

I guess the reviewer is a "Lobstertainment" liker; they're not unknown to exist (although extremely rare  :D).

And if I order it, I'll end up paying that 25% in shipping. (And if you're thinking, "But what about VAT if you buy it over there?", VAT refunds are available for people from outside the EU.)

The 25% off is there for a few weeks alrady. They just didn't get around sending emails to everyone up to now.

Isn't Northern Carolina outside the EU?

I'd also like to point out that prices here in brick-n-mortars are usually the RRP, so you'll be paying £40 (rather than ~£30). This translates to about $64. When you take off the VAT (which I don't think is fair  :p, as we pay much higher sales taxes than you lot in America  ;)), you get about $54.

Thanx for finding it, [-mArc-], you're right, it turned out awesome. I think it's probably my fave DVD trailer out of the 3 so far. Very well put together, and the deleted scene they used is so funny  :laff: It makes me want the DVD's even more!  :)

For the love of all thing mighty, let's us get our paws on Season 3 first.

If it follows the usual pattern, should be at least 9 months down the line.

Assuming FOX bother to air the remaining episodes during summer, and not make a McSeason 6 out of them.

Yes, that's precisely my point. So I don't have to pay VAT. But Amazon makes me pay it anyway. Or at least they did last time. And then charged about 10 pounds in shipping.

And it's North Carolina.

In the trailer, it's interesting that they said, "Complete your collection today!" Makes me think there never will be a Season 4 DVD...  :(

Haven't they already recorded the Season 4 DVD commentaries?

Yes, but that doesn't mean they have to release it. So they lose a few thousand dollars they paid the people to come in and record the commentaries. FOX would do it to screw Futurama.

No, FOX HE wouldn't. FOX Network would, but they got no say in that. I'm pretty sure the Season 4 DVDs will be out sometime early next year or so. They want to push them out when the series is still some fresh.

By the way, the Amazon review yields a nice little tidbit....

WE'VE FINALLY GOT A "PLAY ALL" FACILITY!!!!   :D

Although the reviewer seems a little confused...."Love And Rocket" is a fourth season episode  :evillaugh:.

The play-all option is a good thing. 92 minuyes of solid Futurama goodness on each disc.

Some more wrong info from Amazon:

"A Tale of Two Santas", with John Goodman reprising his evil robot" (Uhh no, John DiMaggio did that)

"'Anthology Of Interest - Part 3'" (Sadly, it's AOI II, will (probably) never see an AOI III)

Kif: "Who're you talking to sir?"

Well, I found that the nearest Virgin MegaStore to my hotel in London is the Picadilly Circus location. But, if I don't get it there, I can always get it at the Virgin MegaStore in Exeter.

Yes, Play All has finally arrived .... also new this time around is that the menus have been designed both as 16:9 and 4:3 (though the show itself is still only 4:3).

Also ... never fear -- there WILL be a season 4 DVD set.

Awesome! On my TV I always have to change the ratio to get it to show 16:9, but that's so cool that these menu's are in both  And that's great news that there WILL be a Season 4 DVD set, I can't wait!  :)
