The BBFC passed the trailer (and the Game trailer as well) quite a while ago. You need to change your search settings to view it (to include advertisements.

Wow cool, so there is a trailer for Season 3. Thanx for the link, Puny Human 354  :) I wonder if it's downloadable anywhere yet?

I've looked on Google and it isn't any where. Fox UK doesn't even have the S2 trailer up. Odd how it is rated "12" rather than "U" or "PG" (what most ads are rated as).

I don't think that that is the final version:

1)You mat disagree with me on this, but it looks to me like a 3 DVD box, but Season 3 is a 4 DVD set.

2)Look at the Season 2 box set picture on amazon.co.uk.  Now look at you S2 box set.  Look at the picture again.  Look at the box set again.  They're not the same.

Like I said on the previous page, they'll probably space out the main picture to have Bender on one large side of the box, and Fry & Leela on the other.  The two small sides would then be the episode list on one side, and the Futurama logo on the other.

Emmmmmm...dunno if the picture has changed since you linked to it PCC Fred, but that box sure does look a lot like a 4 DVD box. You can tell by the side where it lists the episodes on four discs.

I think it doesn't appear thick enough to be a 4 DVD box - it does look more like the size of the S1 DVD box...

Which could mean it's either not the final product, or maybe they could use slimline DVD cases (unlikely). If you've got lots of time on your hands, you could probably use geometry (sp?) to work out the ratios of the lengths, and then compare them to the S1 and S2 boxes to check...

A quote from the Blackstar entry about this set: "Audio commentaries. Alternative animated commentary for Roswell That Ends Well"

Anybody know what is meant by "animated commentary"? Is it simply a buzz-word too many or something more sinister?

I was thinking about that Teral. On the Red Dwarf Series 1 DVD there is an animated commentary for Future Echoes, featuring animated versions of the writers, doing a commentary.

Hmmmm....

I considered that, but dismissed it as too complicated and time-consuming. Then again they already did animate Cohen, Keeler and Stewart Burns (and Groening) in "A Bicyclops Built For Two", so I guess anything is possible.

Looking forward to this set even more now. Come on June 2nd.

I think the "animated" bit is just a bit of padding. I would have thought Futufan would have told us if it were different (unless he's trying to suprise us  ;)).

Boy, I hate waiting.

Basically I've got two milestones until the end of June:

May 16th : GTA : VC gets released for PC (will tide me over until the next one  ;))

June 2nd : Futurama Season Three gets released.

Note the lack of May 22nd (exam results) and June 10th (My birthday)  :D.

With amazon it's usually the day after the release date.  So I'll likely get them on the 3rd.

Luckily, it's a Monday. Which means we won't have to worry about the "weekend" delay. And rather annoyingly, my uni pushed back Reading week by a week to accomodate the May Bank Holiday, so my plans for an all-out Futurama binge have been scuppered  ;).

reading week? like Study vac?

As things go I will be on study vaction when mine are due to turn up, with exams the following week, I am going to have to try really hard to study and not watch the discs!

Reading Week is like a half-term, in that we don't get lectures but practicals and tutorials still go ahead. Luckily I have neither this term  :D.

I've jut noticed that both the S1 and S2 DVD trailers have also been passed recently (the S1 has a different running length to the original) -- perhaps these will also be included on the DVD?

Is that the same day as the DVDs arrive? If so doesn't that mean that you wouldn't have a chance to watch them until after?

I live in England too, i'm not 100% sure of it being 2 days after the DVDs, but i think it is.

That's assuming you're going to go into town and buy them (and I'd be very suprised if anywhere outside London had them on the 2nd).

As it's a Monday, it's highly unlikely the DVDs will be dispatched before the 2nd, which means at the earliest they could arrive on the 3rd. Amazon, especially, have a habit of cocking up deliveries (strangely enough, they get to the point where you can't cancel your order and then hold that for three days  ;)).

This is where I'd like to point out how great wage-slavery can be. No exams, finals or homework to interfere with Futurama watching.

And the dishes and the laundry can mind their own for a couple of days, right?

I'm sorry PCC Fred. I have M*A*S*H Seasons 1, 2 and 3 already in the US. And I'll be taking a convenient vacation to England starting of June 8th. Anyone know of some good stores withing walking distance of the British Museum where I could pick up the Futurama DVD set?

Ah, but what I meant was that the distribution process means that the DVDs aren't usually in widespread availability until a couple of days after the release date.

Holyhead usually gets DVDs on the day of release, and you can't get more widespread than that.

Game, HMV, MVC, Virgin, WHSmith, Dixons, Currys...
Most electronic's retailers would have them, that's a few i can think of off the top of my head but i don't know what's near the museum, at least one should be.

Oxford Street at Tottingham Court Road is actually where I'm staying. But that's a few blocks from the British Museum I believe.

So, a revision of the question: What places on Oxford Street - the closest one to Tottingham Court Road (which is the street at which Oxford Street switches to New Oxford Street) - would sell it?

The Virgin Megastore is next to Tottenham Court Road tube station, at the end of Oxford Street.
