Great review mArc. Now I really can't wait for the DVD's to arrive. With my luck I wont get them before Thursday og Fruiday. Last time they were 2-3 days late.

This set sound really awesome, I can't wait for the commentaries to AOI I part 2 (What if Leela was more impulsive, just a little, not too much?)

Wooooo. Just thought I'd check my email, before I headed of for bed, and what do I see? A mail from Amazon telling me they've shipped my DVD set today (2100 CET), hopefully that means it'll be here by Monday.

^^Ditto me. I've been watching it for most of the day am I've started to listen to the commentaries. It's nice to hear both John Di Maggio and Billy West in the same commentary but sadly there's still no Katey Sagal (at least not in the ones I've listened to.)

Got them today (thanks for saying they'll arive tomorrow Amazon!) and so when my parents are off the TV i'll re-resume with them. First, watching episodes and deleted scenes with each ep. Second the commentaries and third, other extras.

The audio commentary for Xmas Story is fantastic, sounds like a right riot in the studio or wherever they record them.

David X. Cohen also answered a question I was wondering, when are those commentaries recorded? That one at least was recorded "late 2001" if you were wondering. I know I was!

And the first outtake from "Why Must A Be A Crustacean In Love" is brilliant, best one yet, it's a shame it wasn't in the final cut.

Hmm, i ordered the callendar with the DVDs, they sent that and it arrived on the 7th and the DVDs today. I had to pay no extra P+P either.

I've only seen the first DVD menu (are the rest all the same?) but I think the crate thing with the fish is pretty crap. It's just that the fish looks out of place.

When you actually select an episode, that menu is quite good.

Can someone with the UK set check if it shows legal warnings for Australia either before the intro or after the episodes? Or better yet, check if it is region 4 encoded, too?

Yes, it does show an Australia legal notice, but I can't see any reference to region four encoding, I might just not be looking in the right place, I only got a DVD player today

I don't know if a DVD player can show it, but a DVD drive on the computer should be able to. Thanks though. Looks promising. Maybe someone got a DVD drive and according program to check?

Actually the Australia one is the first warning on my DVD, and the UK/Ireland one is last.

I don't know what program to use to check it, but on the bottom it says it's region 2 PAL (a little squashed world with a 2 in it).

Also of note on the bottom, which I found amusing is the line, in very small type:

I should be getting my set in the next couple of weeks and I can't wait. All you guys are so lucky to have gotten it already.
I was hoping that somebody could help me out in acquiring any in-store displays for the Season 2 DVD's. I had heard there were some posters and small little stand up displays that were used for the Season 1 set but did not know if that would be the case for the Season 2. I also got mine from play.com today, but is it just me but the commentary seems to be always aimed at the American audience yet america wont get the DVDs for like 5 years?
