You're not one of those people who judge a game based solely on graphics and not on gameplay, are you?

Because the PS2 has a gamebase that alone merits the purchase of a PS2, as opposed to the X-BOX which has exactly one good game, Halo.

But alas, this is a discussion for another thread.

Actually Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is coming to X-box this November.

And if Panzer Dragoon Orta is at least half as good as Panzer Dragoon Zwei, It'll kick ass!

Also, in response to Nix. the GC has Super Moneky Ball, Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil and Super Smash Brothers to name a few games.

Don't forget Eternal Darkness, Animal Crossing, and StarFox Adventures. All excellent games. I would prefer seven games which I find incredibly enjoyalbe to several dozen which I find so-so.

Since it is a Futurama game I will buy it, and i'd probably sell my bathtub to buy another one if my original got damaged. But if the quality i see before me is in the final version, i will be cursing and frowning thru out the whole game.  Hermes looks slightly spastic, and the detail on the models seem unatractive.  If they nocked it up a few more notches it would still be cartoony enough to pass as a game based on a cartoon.

Are you with me?

:snaps fingers repeatedly: um, um, um.... what's that FPS that's in development based on the comic... Is it 'Seven'...?

Yeah, well, whatever. You only have to look at the cell-shading techniques used in that to know that from what I'm seeing, the Futurama game is looking distinctly sub-par.

It will most likely suck, just like all the thousands of other TV licence-based games.

By the way...

:looks at current crop of PS2 and XBOX screens, then looks at UT2003 demo running on his PC. Smirks:

Imagine if they don't even have all the original voice actors doing the game...

In an interview i read somewhere they said "some of the orininal voice actors" would be there.

Wouldn't it just be like fox to have the guy from that seventies show do fry's voice, or a cheaply hired french refugee to play zap brannigan, all in badly coordinated lipsink, or even worse, no lipsink.

i recon(think, not cloak and dagger) that if the lines are as good as in the show, i would be fine with any level of graphics detail.  as long as they give me something to quote over and over untill the people closest to me tell me to stop.

Here's some new game info!
 http://www.cube-europe.com/newsphp/news.php?id=2956

Sounds like it's going to be a great game, but like other people have said, the graphics had better be better than those screen shots we've seen.  I know that you shouldn't judge a game on that, but you can't deny that Simpsons Road Rage would have been a better game had the graphics been better.  I'll definitely be renting (and if it's good, buying) a copy for my GameCube.

The graphics would have been alot better if the use of cel-shading was used better, with black lines around more of the objects.

Not seen much other information but hope its going to be a better game  :).

just because a lot of people buy ps2 doesnt mean its any good, just that they have been sucked into all the hype that goes with it, when ps1 came out it WAS the best, then they rushed the ps2 but people still bought it because of the ps1, xbox is better in every way  and gamecube looks better too. Theres always going to be games that look good and play bad and ones that play well and look bad but i prefer the ones that play well and look good, thats why i suggested that people get it on xbox because if its the same game on both and plays well then it will look better on xbox     :D      :p p.s. i have all three ps2, xbox and gamecube

It's pathetic when people diss consoles that they don't own. If I was rich enough, I would own all the current consoles and a top spec pc. I have a PS2 because personally I like Final Fantasy and platformers, but I am well aware that there are some very good games on all the systems. Sheesh :-P

Very interesting thing I found in a British games mag, in a 2003 games preview

FUTURAMA
Dev  SCI
Pub  SCI
Out  TBA

SCI's compulsive liecence signing continues, with Matt Groening's Emmy Award-winning cartoon the latest addition to their catalogue. Although not equalling the success of Groening's Simpsons, Futurama could be perfect for the third-person action shooter that's in the works.

Now, you may all know that, but the most interesting thing is that this preview was in the latest edition of the magazine called PC Gamer.

you never know.  it took about a year before halo or GTA3 were announced to be on the PC, too.  Though, no new simpson games go to the PC, so I doubt futurama will.  but since futurama seems like an actually GOOD game, appose to the simpson ones, maybe it will.

Right now, I wish i had a GC... I dont like my ps2 much...

GC rocks! And we are finally getting some good games for the RPG-starved crowd. Skies of Arcadia is out, and FF: Crystal Chronicle is going to be out in a couple of months. I've also heard that Chrono Break, the third in the Chrono series, is in the works. Futurama may not be exactly RPG, but it sounds a lot better than the hastily cobbled-up licensed crap that are the Simpsons games.

I saw this too. Unfortunately my PC sucks for games, so I'm hoping that they don't really improve the game if they make a PC version 10 months after console release.

Maybe, or maybe there's a different version for the PC. Like all the Bond games that came out on the consoles *spits* then they made Nightfire for the PC.
I know, I know, but I can always hope...
