Probably a good choice. I wouldn't have felt mocked by it.

OK, November has come and gone with no official announcement.  So, what torment shall we devise for giving us false hope?  The rack, thumbscrews, the comfy chair perhaps?  A marathon of FOX's crappiest shows?    :D

Actually his spoilerific info on the season 2 DVD's was spot on. So one point for futufan there.

Although we've heard absolutely no "official" rumors about a region 1 DVD set yet, and the R2 set's was always officially rumored months in advance.

The November 11 date was referring to the release of Season 2 on DVD in Europe (not to an official announcement about the release of Season 1 in America by Fox) ... I was trying to establish some credibility (by giving spoilers about the Season 2 DVD) while not revealing my sources.

BTW Dr_Dave -- I love your Tick reference (the comfy chair) -- coincidentally that's another underrated FOX show that desperately needs a DVD release.

Glad you liked it, futufan.

Actually, I got that from the famous Monty Python Spanish Inquisition sketch ("Cardinal Fang, fetch the comfy chair!" ).

Still hoping that someday FOX will see the light, or feel the heat, or just do the right thing!

Yeah ... after I posted my comment I remembered that Python sketch, too  -- though I still stand by my comment about The Tick.  :)

The glorious official announcement has finally come, so all is forgiven.  Let us go forth with plastic in hand to show the scoundrels at FOX just how much we love our Futurama!

Oh, ... sorry about the whole painful death by slow torture thing.

on a side note to what "just chris" said and his link to http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=112156  ..

referring to family guys season 1 dvd release.. will "there is something about paulie" be released on the american dvd's? because i dont believe it was released on the european dvd's.. i may be wrong.. but i checked www.cdcovers.cc  and viewed the family guy season 1 european dvd covers, inlays, inserts and such.. i even viewed a couple of ebay auctions that list the episodes, no mention of "there is something about paulie".. it was in the first production run.. that is the only episode that appears to be omitted.. anyone have any clues?

Amazon.com has an item listed as
"Futurama Volume 1" for $29.99 (with Matt Groening starring), the release date is correct, the disk number is correct, however the description and the editorial reviews are for "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir".  It falls under the free shipping guidelines.  I guess this is it, but i'm not quite sure

(moved from another folder, sowwie for the mis-post)

According to thedigitalbits.com:
"In other DVD news, Fox has announced the DVD release of Futurama: Volume 1 on 3/25 (SRP $38.98). The 3-disc set will include audio commentary on all the episodes, deleted footage and more. In addition, the studio will release The Family Guy: Volume 1 on 4/15 (SRP $49.98). This will be a 4-disc set with audio commentary on select episodes and other extras."
