Wait so is that part of the line as in the same vein as Morbo Vinyl or is it something in itself?

I do believe that Kickstarter idea started her with jabalong. Awesome! I will definitely be supporting this when it starts.

Don't remember which one of us thought of it first, but the Kickstarter idea started here on these Peelified toy threads. So back pats all-around...  :)

And, above all, kudos to SculptBoy for pitching it to Toynami! He said they shot down the idea initially, but apparently they've come around.

Once the details are out, we've really got to rally the Peelified hordes and make noise on other boards about it.

After all our complaining, this Kickstarter has to be a success. After two years of clutching at straws in the dark, it will be great to have a tangible goal to work towards!

And with Futurama the show being cancelled again, it's also a great way for fans generally to show that interest in all things Futurama remains strong.

WTF, Toynami Hypnotoad Vinyl on sale now.

TOYNAMI!!!!

How big is that Toynami?

Anyone have a link to somewhere with photos of the whole Futurama display?

EDIT: Here's the link to Toy Ark's pictures, but there's not one showing the whole display where you can get a good sense of the scale of things:

Why is that two-foot tall Bender branded as "Shogun Warriors"?

I thought that Shogun one was the anime-looking Bender they displayed in the past.

So.. it's SDCC 2013 Tineez Hypnotoad?

Probably will be in the 3rd Tineez set with two others in the future?

They had said it's up for sale now...not sure what size they meant or if it was a pre-order thing. I had to do that with the robot devil plush one year and then they sent it to me in the mail a few months later.

This is an interesting development. I was looking for confirmation on what's in the exclusive TPB and found images of hypnotoad.

I wish they'd just cancel the line and get it over with. It's the waiting I can't stand.

Why is that two-foot tall Bender branded as "Shogun Warriors"?

I thought that Shogun one was the anime-looking Bender they displayed in the past.

"Shogun Warriors" is a line of robot figures that shoot their fists and are around 60cm tall. Both the big Bender and the Anime Bender were pending approval last time we saw them, with AB still in the scaled-down unpainted prototype phase.

Toynami is insane.

I think the word you're looking for is "awesome". I'm glad that they're at least trying to find a way to get these things out.

Even if I was blocked off of their facebook page for suggesting they were idiots for not doing something like this.

No the word is "ambivalent".

First the Futurama 6 inch line is canned... then.. no wait, instead will do them all with kickstarter. Even though they flat out said no at first to Otto.
Next Robot Devil is canned but instead giant Bender is now not.
And here's a bunch of Hypnotoads while we're at it!

But hurry.... it's all super limited!!!

Toynami should run for president, it flip flops so much!

Believe what you want. Until something is actually being sold that's not an exclusive, I'll continue to consider it dead. From what I've seen there are theoretically new things coming, but that's always been the case. I firmly believe that the Kickstarter will be another case of "here's something awesome you can't have" due to something like shipping restrictions or them simply not following through.

Heya Quolnok, good to see you still kicking around here. When it comes to Toynami and Futurama, I agree wholeheartedly that cynicism is fully warranted!

That said, one's thing's for sure, if this Kickstarter initiative doesn't succeed, we won't be getting Morbo. Surely, if they're trying this, it is the last grasp at a straw.

So with nothing to lose from participating, since we get our money back if it fails, we should all get on board this and rally support for it. Kickstarter has led to great things elsewhere.

Remember we're the ones here on this Peelified forum who came up with the idea of using Kickstarter for this line, so let's make it work! I need my Morbo!!!  :D

ok, thanks tachyon. i have a few question on whats currently happening with the line and i was hoping if someone could clear it up. first of about the toads... so the smaller toad is in the tineez series i believe but is the larger hypno toad a kid robot or another tineez or part of the original line? by the looks of the box it seems to be part of the line we all want and love:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/92579127@N06/9341662602/

if so that is great! (another addition to the classic line)
I have doubts its a kid robot because there already was this kid robot toad:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/39868290@N04/7858760802/in/pool-futurama

So referring to the picture that bender22 posted, i think that the smaller toad is a tineez and the bigger one is part of the 6inch series? maybe? well toynami never labeled it kid robot or tineez on their facebook but if im completely wrong someone please explain.

Ok now about morbo. Does signing up for their mailing list and donating to their kickstarter make it so that they will send you morbo for free or is toynami asking for the money to make the figures and then they are going to sell them to us? if anyone knows please answer. thanks.

oh yea btw if anyone cares, theres a new large sized kidrobot nibbler and zoidberg:

thanks

If anything I'd say the smaller Hypnotoad is more suited to the classic line we all know and love as it's more in scale. Hypnotoad is about the size of a dog, not a full sized person.

Sure, but it is perfectly legal to not actually start it or specify that they'll only ship in the US.

Not many companies are that stupid, but I guess we'll see. We don't have long to wait and find out.

I don't think you'll get anything for free from Toynami, Zoidberger. I was under the impression that kickstarter programs just fund the production of the item, not pay for the item itself.

The hypnotoad they had for sale was a smaller one, one is listed online already and looks like similar packaging to the Tineez Bender SDCC exclusive from a few years ago. The larger hypnotoad will be available later for sale, is what they told my friend who was there this year.

I'm agitated some booths, like the Kidrobot booth (and I think Toynami too) made you get a wristband to be able to purchase their product this year (one per band) but they ONLY handed them out at a certain time in the morning. My friend was volunteering at that time (how she gets into comiccon for free each year) and so she missed the time they gave them out for him and sold out that day or day after it seems. So I ended up buying one online which I wouldn't have notmally done but I had my heart set on it...she was able to get the other things I wanted so I will post pics when I get them :D

I don't think you'll get anything for free from Toynami, Zoidberger. I was under the impression that kickstarter programs just fund the production of the item, not pay for the item itself.

Basically, it's entirely up to the Kickstarter project creator (ie, Toynami in this case) to set the amount thresholds and what you get for each one, which can be anything really.

Most projects will set a low-threshold amount, like five or ten bucks, for people who may just want to support the cause. Like here's an example for a toy, where $10 just gets a magnet:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/16029337/goldieblox-the-engineering-toy-for-girls/posts

But generally, most thresholds will get you the toy. And the above example sets different levels depending how many you want and whether it's domestic or international shipping.

Where it really gets interesting, for those with deeper pockets, is what the 'pie in the sky' thresholds get you, which tend to be unique and personalized stuff and experiences.

So fear not unwashed masses of the filthy world beyond the promised land, unless Toynami colossally screws it up there will be options for any and all your Morbo-loving needs.  :p

so does that mean even if we donate were not guaranteed that we'll get our hands on a morbo? That leaves us with the possibility to see them make a less number of morbos  than the number of people who donated . I would just hate to see all of the core fans of the series taking money out of their own pockets to fund this figure and then have it immediately bought out by people who didn't donate money or time into keeping this line alive. Im still probably going to donate though because if i got Morbo he would be my second favorite figure i have(Zoidberg still takes the crown) and it will help with the state of the line. I just hope that they do this for lrrr and more figures.

Who knows, if they're smart they'll just base the number of figures made to how much they make.

So if it's fairly low, they could produce around 200 of them, if it's high then they could do 2000. And so on.

Odd the little one's were just bagged, guess they rushed to get the little toads to SDCC... but I can't find any little Toynami Hypnotoads in just bags online for sale.
I've seen the pictures of baby Hypnotoad, I know it's real!
