Hmmm, looking at Forbidden Planet's pricing on regular Futurama figures, they seem to have the same prices, but in pounds rather than dollars (that's what I found when I visited the UK, everything was the same numbers except the currency was worth 50% more). So if they're selling the Destructor set for £56.99, I still think it will come in around my expected price of $54.99. The only wrinkle is that they're offering that price as being "19% off", in which case the US price could be anywhere up to $69.99.

.....Gender Bender....

http://www.comic-con.org/exclusives/toynami-inc

Well waddya know, $69.99!  :flirt:

Oh by the way..."Good news everyone!"

Didn't think Destructor/Gender Bender would see the light of day (and still won't quite believe it until it's in my hands), but 'tis good and I'll take it!

Now to figure out how to get my hands on it without my wallet getting raped...

According to what I've heard, those two are still possible future SDCC releases.
But will be vinyl instead of regular plastic, and very limited.

We asked... for anything TOYNAMI, LOL!

Silly Toynami... pretending to listen to us.

We've demanded tons more figures, yoooouuu goofs!

This does explain why BBTS and EE never listed pre-orders.
They'll have to wait until after the fact.. and I'm guessing only BBTS will snag a few.

One funny thing about this is now Destructor will have been an SDCC "exclusive" not once, but twice!

Wonder if that's happened before where essentially the same figure is an exclusive for different Comic Cons.

Wondering what the best way to get this to the UK is?
Pay via PayPal to someone who can pick one up, or pay more to unscrupulous individual on eBay?

Feeling very ripped off on Futurama merch recently, it's all limited edition/random boxed which makes it very easy for ebayers to make money and difficult for collectors to get hold of at the retail price, almost to suspicious levels :(

I can only speak to these Toynami figures as haven't followed other Futurama merchandise, but you really have to look at it as this line has basically been dead for a long time now.

So if it weren't for convention exclusives, we probably wouldn't be seeing this Destructor/Bender set, and as it is this may very well be the last thing we ever see.

Personally, I don't get it as the first Destructor sold out days after the convention with an immediate huge and sustained run-up in prices on the secondary market.

And I can't understand how figures like Morbo and Lrr wouldn't sell very well with online retailers. But for whatever reason, Toynami can't seem to get it together.

So in the absence of anything else, I'll take the exclusives. Bring on a Morbo / Lrr convention exclusive two-pack! I'd pay double for those too in an instant.

Bad sign?

Thanks for confirming my fears.

And I just got set 1 to go with set 1.5 and the eventually set 2.
I guess this means they'll be SDCC exclusives next year instead!

Ha, maybe...I really wanted that talking robot devil. The Bender one is so awesome!

I don't know which of you will be able to see this link but Futurama posted a Comic-Con Cheat Sheet on facebook...looks like we knew about all of them except for the free poster. So awesome that Zoidy is blue!! And glows in the dark!! :D

Kidrobot glow in the dark blue Zoidberg.
That's almost as cool as the Kidrobot Hedonismbot that's coming later this year.

But it sucks that the talking Robot Devil and Tineez are perhaps canned.

So my friend is at ComicCon and she texted me that apparently Toynami is only selling merch to those with wristbands that they handed out earlier in the day, so they are definitely are limiting that product this year. They are doing the same for Kidrobot too. My guess is this will make online prices soar...

Some very interesting pictures from the Toynami display at SDCC yesterday. I think we have some hope after all...

Wait a second, I don't even want morbo but if I don't sign up for the kick starter program that will end the line, but if we all sign up for it, it means they may produce the mafia..... Also Im biting the bullet Im paying that overly priced amount for gender bender, it's not the most I've spent on a model, Mysterion cost £180

I do believe that Kickstarter idea started her with jabalong. Awesome! I will definitely be supporting this when it starts. Like EvilPDA said, hopefully this will lead to other figures coming out on Kickstarter. Now all I have to do is find a decently priced Destructor and Gender Bender combo....sigh.

Me and my brother will BOTH be supporting this. I'm glad they're actually doing it. My guess is that they'll have Stretch Goals. Which means if they reach a certain amount they'll make Morbo, if they make a certain amount after that they'll make Lrrr. If they make a certain amount after that they'll start with Mafia/Flexo etc.
I suggest that come August everyone of us pass the kickstarter around to as many people as possible.

Isn't that Hypnotoad a Kidbot?

@EvilPDA I would hold off for a bit, and see what happens after Comic Con has ended. Some stores are bound to get them like they did the Destructor last year.

I really want Gender Bender, as I have every other figure. But I REALLY don't want to pay like £100+ for a figure I already have and one that's a rehash of several that I have already. The most I've ever payed for a figure is £120, but it was a figure that was limited to 100.

Plus I'd rather put the extra cash on Kickstarter for Morbo.

I'm hoping it pops up somewhere for a good price.
