Jabalong - I know the Chef Bender and Mom assortment sold out.  But Wooden Bender and URL were weak sellers.  URL was my idea. Maybe a bad choice on my end.  Wooden Bender was someone else' idea. 

I'm thinking about presenting it very simply to the boss.  "Hey, If we can raise x amount of dollars, can we get Morbo off the ground?" Since Morbo is the oldest and has definitely done his time in the void!! I have no idea what the number we'd have to raise is, but I could figure that out with his help....and a calculator.  He wont be back into the office until next Monday so I have a little time. 

Also I dont think a Golden Bender of the Toynami Bender would be a bad thing.  I mean the people shelling out the big money for the old one still has a different figure and box from the Toynami one.  But yeah Universe B repaints is a good idea. 

Anyways, I think we should start small and set the goal at Morbo. What do you guys think?

Oh and a bit of good news.....We got the box and blister mock up for the Gebder Bender and Destructor Deluxe set yesterday! Gotta trim the blister tray a bit, but it looks pretty awesome! And BIG!!!!

He's the same as the SDCC one, except his spikes aren't chrome. They are show colors.

As far as I know its being released.  I don't know when though.  But I dont see them going this far with it and not producing it.  Since the tooling is done for both these figures.

Build a bot pieces are a great way to help other figures sell. Collectors who dont really want a certain figure, will be more likely to buy it, just to help complete the Build a Bot.

Heck, even Star Wars is abandoning the Vintage collection in 2013, in favor for to bring back the Build a Bot series, because it was an over all better seller. Kind of crazy to think that could be true, because those Vintage figures were great figures.

Just to see anything new is a bonus, i thought Destructor was gonna be the last release in the line. Even to see him re-released as a boxset with GB means the line is still alive.

Excited about the line again. and Kickstart? Count me in!

Very good news to hear that the Destructor Deluxe Two Pack is still coming.

I am also thinking Morbo is most likely the path Toynami should go at first if we can get a kickstart going.

If Morbo is produced move onto the Robot Mafia and Lrrr.

Then perhaps repaints of more alternate universe main crew (such as Golden Bender).

Next encores of Leela, Zapp, Kiff, and Zoidberg (if new hands and jacket molds are viable with kickstarter money).
I truly believe a Zoidberg encore would be a huge seller.

Then if that all goes through.. move onto Scruffy, Hedonismbot and Ndnd.


But most importanty let's buy buy buy and stay focused.

Support the line.

am very excited about the line again, I'm gonna get the two pack now instead of the exclusive. i can see morbo getting a release now. i think for the future pharaoh bender should be a figure.{like my picture} i know, another bender variant, but i think it would sell well. url and wooden bender aren't as good as the other waves...
as soon as i saw them they looked a bit......cheap. any idea when they're gonna come out?{gender bender and destructor}

Yeah, the Gender Bender is a new release but I don't understand why Toynami are yet again putting this effort into Bender when it's obvious that Lrrr or Morbo would sell more than the 6th Bender in the series.

Please keep in mind not everyone got a Destructor like they wanted b/c some held out for the two-pack, like me.

I'm just as excited for the two-pack as I would be for Morbo or Lrrr.
As it's all new product to me.
I'll be pre-ordering it whenever it is up at bbts.com for order.

Sculptboy, do we have an estimated date for the Destructor two pack?

Ill be getting Destructor.  We need Lrrr and Morbo, we have been teased with the Robot Mafia also. We should at least get those.

I want to show my support and say, I would happily shell out more on Furturama figures. Please Please do a Gold Bender!

 Maybe another Zoidberg would be nice, with a new mold so its fair on the collectors that have shelled out on the already hard to find ones.

I personally can`t afford to buy £100s for one, and I really want him badly.

That's great news about the once-promised "retail" version of Destructor. Thumbs up to not having to shell out megabucks for the SDCC version and another thumbs up to getting Gender Bender!

It's also just good news that there's still something in Toynami's pipeline, which means the line isn't completely dead andn maybe we can get somewhere with this Kickstarter idea.

Speaking of which, I'm all for Morbo. Love the character and he's been pretty much at the top of my wishlist since this line came out. And he looks like he might be simpler to make.

Nah, URL was a great character to make. And I like Wooden Bender a lot, maybe one of the best of the Bender variants - he's certainly different.

Futuristic-ATR is right, the difference has to come down to no more BAF parts. It's water under the bridge now, but I don't get why Toynami scrapped the BAF.

It seem like that's when the line started to go off the rails and totally lose momentum. The BAF figures were really popular. It certainly made me buy some figures I might not have.

It's pie in the sky now, but if this line ever gets back to multi-figure waves, it really ought to bring back the BAF. But at this point I'd be happy with squeezing out one figure at a time!

URL was a poor choice to make because we didn't get Smitty in the same wave. He would have been awesome if we had Smitty, but URL seems random by himself.

I agree about the BAF thing.  In the end the line just wasn't hot enough at the time to support basically another figure tooled for free.  But yeah I remember seeing the first test of Wooden Bender's package and being like..."Wow thats an empty package" But my hands were tied.  My original idea was to do Morbo as a BAF for that series.  But that got nixed for a Morbo single release which got nixed for the Action Figure Limbo.  

And also just to put this out there....My original Wooden Bender had hinge joints on the elbows and knees.  Also ball swivel joints in the top of the leg hip joint and the ankle.  But yeah my ideas are just too darn expensive sometimes!!

I don't have any word on the 2-pack release date yet, but as soon as I hear I'll be sure to let you guys know.

You could have even done Tinny Tim as a BAF. Have his head come with Wooden Bender and his Body with URL.

If the BAF / BAB is continued, I think a poll would be in order. See which figure or robot would be most desirable then use that figure/robot as the BAF. This would encourage the sale of all figures that have part of the desired BAF.
I was willing to buy all the figures that had a Roberto part because I really wanted Roberto.

REPAINT: maybe the Xmas episode versions (ex: Leela in her ski gear with goggle accessory, Fry in his ski gear with santa hat, etc.)

I second the Bender Pharoah version. Maybe keep the same Bender sculpt but have the head gear fit onto head, the top slip on like Super King's cape.

If no more BAF/BAB I would love to see more accessories for the figures OR have a Teenage Mutant Leela Hurdles episode version (when the crew is young) of one of the crew in the pack OR Hypnotoad OR owls - they do make a lot of appearances. It would kind of make it a two pack, like Farnsworth and Nibbler. Maybe the owls could be accessories to Mom's three sons (if they are ever produced) - the Owl Exterminators.

it is great when someone like scuptboy comes to the thread. I second the xmas pe crew, maybe the baf could be a rerelease of santa bender? i think a lot of people would like that if they missed his previous release. maybe we could get a quanza bot and hanuka zombie 2 pack.

We need some  more repaints, i love my fry and Leela universe Alt 2 pack ( don`t have blue Zoidberg YET)

Gold Bender would be great and he is technically another character. The Hermes, Amy and Prof would also be cool.

Its kinda lame having just Fry and Leela without Bender.

I think that a new Golden Bender is a good idea, because the existing one is the MAC figure. A Golden Bender based on the Toynami figure would have his head and eyes interchangeable with the other Toynami's Benders. Moreover, there is a big demand for it. And we could put Nixon's head in a Golden Bender body!

And the release of Destructor + Gender Bender is great too!

Actually the eyes would be interchangeable but they wouldn't look very good as the rims would be gold on the new one, and  silver on all the old ones.

I'd forgotten how Morbo was once talked about as being a BAF!

The most frustrating thing about Morbo and Lrr is how close we've come to having them already - Morbo as a BAF and Lrr before he got replaced by Amy.

Man, I hope we can still get these two somehow at some point, as those prototypes are just too great to not see the figures made. Fingers and toes crossed.

Would definitely like a Morbo and Lrrr, and Mafia. Even Flexo. It's just what I collect so pretty much anything you guys make I will buy unless I already have it (like the encores, though I did buy an exra bender for the extra nixon's head in a jar I had).

I really hope to see Hedonism Bot as well, he hasn't been merchandised in any toy lines as far as I know.

There's a lot of Bender variants out there - if the line picks up and they have more production, what about other character variants? Like Lars? Course I think Fry looked better with the beard when he was sportin' the fisherman look heh.

If they ever branched out and did female side characters, Morgan Proctor and Dr. Cahill are among my favorites I'd like to see in toy form. I bet the male demographic might be into those as well because let's face it - they're hot lol.

Anyways I'm getting ahead of myself here. I'd just like to see the figures that we already have the prototypes for

That's not a repaint though. His costume would require new molds. A repaint is literally coating the same molds in different colour paint. IE Golden Bender.

October - Tineez set 2.

Early 2013 - Destructor two pack.

Possible for 2013 - Morbo, Lrrr, and the Robot Mafia.


Sounds good to me.. unless they get delayed.. that's what the toy vendor's are saying for the 2012 part anyway.

Me too.. or if it's even happened yet.

Maybe we should get really organized and help him present the best case financially.

1st; release said merch. slated for 2012 in 2012.

2nd; next release the Destructor two pack... keep it limited to.. 2000 or 3000.

3rd; then kickstart.... let's say... Morbo.. as he seems most wanted.

4th; Perhaps alternate repaints should be considered? Golden Bender???
These could be used as kickstarter incentives perhaps?

5th; kickstart Lrrr and the Robot Mafia next.

6th; continue on in a productive manner.

Sounds like a sensible plan.

One and two are already in the works anyway.

Though I really, really want Morbo, I'd say if any resistance to a new figure, then swap three and four.

I can't see a Golden Bender on the Toynami sculpt being anything but a money maker. And it's much lower risk/cost to make as it's just a repaint.

So if need be, let Toynami do that and then use the proceeds to take a bigger step on production of a new figure with Morbo.

Just a thought, though really I can't see Morbo not being a money maker.
