PEE Poll: What do you think of Toynami?
I love them and collect them all.
I really like them and have some.
I like them, but I don't have any.
I don't really care for them.
I'm just here for the free food.

never said i was too good for capital letters, just not going to do it to make one users viewing more pleasurable.

negative? you'd be negative too if you've been waiting for figures for years.

i collect these figures and have been waiting for a lurr and morbo for almost two years now, yet encore waves get pushed right to the top, yeah it pisses me off. and i bet i'm not the only one.

BTW Here is the photo of that new wave of Tineez (I'm sure someone already linked to it here via BBTS or something similar but I'm gonna repost them again anyway since sites are taking pre-orders now):

Saving money by using the same molds, obviously.

Talking Robot Devil Mock up

I can understand your irritation nacirema. Using the same molds to make "encore" figures of ones already done may be initially cost effective, but will not benefit them in the end. I would think that for those who already have the original run of Toynami figures with BAB parts (myself included) would not want to spend more money on an even lesser version of the toy. The only people it really benefits are those who got into the merch late and missed out on the older Toynami, and do not want to pay the hefty price for them that is out there on the market right now. But Toynami should be catering to their diehard collectors - the one who will spend the money (like us) for the latest new toy. I will not be buying any of the encores, and I don't see how their sales of these figures could possibly compete with other, different figures - like the Tineez or Destructor.

I've been to local toy stores like Puzzle Zoo and Toys 'R Us, and let me tell you, their shelves were completely stocked with encores. You wouldn't get that if they had some variety and made completely new figures.

i mean, seriously...it's been almost two years since i saw the first morbo and lurr figures. then the robot mafia, and i was in awe. so excited to get the new figures...yet as time goes by i find myself questioning if i'll ever get those figures.

if they're so keen on encore, cough up the extra 15 racks and make a zoidberg mold. not another encore of the encore fry..i mean how many encores do you need?

You know a company is really scraping the barrel, when their new line of products is just previous set of characters rehashed with a different color and accessory. That Tineez series 2 is such a lazy cop-out release.

The only people it really benefits are those who got into the merch late and missed out on the older Toynami, and do not want to pay the hefty price for them that is out there on the market right now.

I am one of them. But Toynami need to a maintain a balance by releasing encore figures along with new characters like Lrrr, Morbo and the Robot Mafia

Do they still have it on display there and how much are they priced at? Just wondering how much lower is the pricing compared to the ones available online.

From what I recall, $15 or thereabouts. A balance of the two would be nice, but so far they haven't done that.

Regarding the Tineez, I will buy it, because Bee Bender is so damn effing cute. It's the saving grace of that redo.

A balance of the two would be nice, but so far they haven't done that.

Let us all write Toynami letters everyday demanding action be taken, and new figures be released!

At the very least one new one and one encore at a time.

FutureFreak i was just watching the episode Three Hundred Big Boys and Zoidberg was wearing a top hat if u have time could you use robot devils top hat and take a picture of zoidberg wearing it for me :) i think it would be a cool looking figure.  On a seperate note im thinking of buying another super king bender and just using the head on a bender body to make thief bender as in the picture below, i need advice, do i keep the mask purple or paint it black??

paint it black, what a good idea..thief bender.
also if I'm correct the robot devils top hat isn't hollow and stays attached via a magnet, so not sure if that'll work.

ona side note, saw a robot devil on eBay for 170 something.

In fact that's ALL I saw at Toys 'R Us a few months back. Hmm. I forgot the Encores are great for the eager creative beaver who wants to make variations that don's cost hundreds of dollars. Can't wait to see Thief Bender!

And I think nacirema is right, I don't think I have a hollow top hat but I will see...

Yeah me too EvilPDA. How can something arrive 2 months later than expected? I'm still going to just wait and get it from Play.com as the ones on ebay are over double the cost and you'd have to pay import duty if you got it from America anyway.

Yeah I had a quick look today tryin to price it up and see how much more it would be from BBTS it's gonna be something like £80 then u have to add the import tax, so I thought about forbiddenplanet.co.uk and they said its gonna be shipped from America which puts me in the same situation, I think like u my friend I'll just have to bide my time, I suddenly feel like one of the guys who's been waiting two years for the robot mafia....

or you can just wait it out and hope they make the gender Bender two pack..I don't see a point in buying two destructors. and how do these websites have so many when only a thousand were made beyond me.

That Gender Bender one may never see the light of day, and I'm sure the Destructor will hold reasonable value due to the box.

That's exactly what I've been wondering for a while now, whether these big companies ate up all the pre-orders at SDCC or perhaps there was more than 1000 made like we are led to believe...

i'm still holding out hope that they do eventually release a gender bender. even if it's a blister and not with destructor. i mean, if you think about it, it will sell. you got destructor so you gotta have the gender bender. toynami loves releasing benders and that's one that's sure to sell.

and it baffels me, because what did these companies have their employees going one at a time to pick 'em up? i don't think you could walk up and say 'hey, i want 300 of these'.

You go ahead and be baffled... no offense.

Some online stores usually have deals worked out before comic-con.. such as EE whom shares exclusives outright with comic-con and others like BBTS are more secretive about it... but they all get stock in the end.

It doesn't confuse or surprize me that online stores had so many... how many toy buying Futurama fans out there actually get to comic-con?

Most aren't like us, most have a million other things to get and see at comic-con as well.

Also how many average units do they produce for say... any encore or any figure in general?
I bet it's only 3000 to 5000 at the absolute most per run.

Simply put just b/c we buy toys... we're in a very tiny 1-2% minority of Futurama fans.

I think most people buy the dvds and watch the show and that's about it.

I collect other stuff too, and just from what I've seen almost none of these other comic-con exclusives (toys) are 100% exclusive to comic-con ever, period.

Amazon, BBTS, EE, and others will always get that shit in as well, they get put on waiting lists... whatever stock didn't get pre-ordered at comic-con.. a trickle down effect occurs with the online toy sellers.

Product has to go somewhere... any show like Futurama has a hard time selling toys b/c they are not in a regular Wal-mart or Target.. or even most comic book shops.

Anytime you have a product where the core demo. is hardcore nerd fans with spare cash... it tends to be a hard sale.

I know some adults whom would like a Bender toy as say a gift.... but none of them would ever buy it of their own volition.

Plus don't forget the people like me whom want one but aren't willing to throw down the cash for one quite yet.
I really wanted that Gender Bender/Destructor two-pack... I still hear legends of someday.

1000 is plenty to go around... at first...... as they will still become rare and expensive... as is happening.

I really do want one badly.... the price is going up!

I was thinking about it but then thought Im not too bothered about havin him if I had to choose between him and scruffy I'd choose flexo, although saying that I can imagine a scruffy would look very good in a collection where as flexo would sorta fade into the background

The listing says.... Series 1—3 Fry, Zoidberg (regular) Bender, Kit, Leela, Zapp

OMG, KIT!!!!!! Only one Futurama Knight Rider crossover toy was made, ever!!!!!

I'd pay $4000.00 for that alone!!!!!

-

Actually that dude is not being greedy.. he just clearly is insane and has no idea wtf he has.

But seriously he wants 200 for one of the Zoidbergs.. and 100 bucks for each figure after that.. roughly... not counting the one not pictured set of Santa and Bender.

So anyway... he wants 100 bucks per figure...

WHAT A DOUCHE!
