I love them and collect them all.
I really like them and have some.
I like them, but I don't have any.
I don't really care for them.

Only b/c you asked:

It's an okay/good job.

I've just been around so many Transformer nuts.. that the lengths they go for accurate car like quality paint jobs and mods... I'm just spoiled by seeing those for so many years.

This is probably actually excellent for a first try at painting him.

As I've never attempted anything like this, I think it's pretty neat! I'm noticing that you are very creative EvilPDA :)

Cool pic of Destructor, dano.

that's a good job.

what kinda paint did you use?

i'd say the only bad thing i have to say about it, is you shoulda used a MAC bender because the toynami ones a MAC molded bender. but that's creative and a good way to save a couple hundred bucks.

Since it was asked in this thread...

Finally took Destructor out of the box, cleared a shelf temporarily for photos until I am able to set it up how I want:

These next two are identical 'cept for the ruler, but I liked the centering on the first one so I uploaded them both:

It's like if Hulk were a robot, lol.

Thank you for the comments guys it is only my first attempt Im a lil disappointed because u can see all the brush strokes but Im also quite happy because it's something I have created, I didn't use the mac bender because Ive always wanted a golden bender but using the encore moulds, the paints I used were from my local warhammer shop I just took a photo of the original toynami golden bender in and they helped me with the colours and showe me what to do, brilliant pics futurefreak, only two things wrong he's not in a comprising position and he'd look better painted gold LOL just messing he looks awesome Im so excited to get mine, might be a daft question but do his fingers move?

P.s Im glad there's another collector out there who enjoys freeing thier figures :)

Visible brush strokes aside, it's a good custom paint job EvilPDA, including that cool mini bender posted in the other thread. Always glad to see more custom works from fans.

Neat pics Randi, thanks for sharing those and good to see the height comparison along with the ruler. I'm hoping they will eventually release a non-SDCC version of Destructor as a set with Gender Bender.

Nice try EvilPDA. There are indeed many brush strokes but I think it's cool for first try. I also plan to repaint an encore bender to golden but probably I'll give it to a friend of mine who studies in art university.

Nice pics futurefreak! very professionally taken!

Sadly, I do not :( I just did a search for it online and saw it is $240.00...I think EvilPDA made the right choice in painting his $15 Bender haha.

Thanks for the comments guys! Oh and EvilPDA: His fingers do not move. His legs move a little bit to be able to change his stance wider, but I wasn't able to get a photo of that without him tipping over (would need to balance him on the back wall methinks).

$240? daaamn, rape.

if I didn't already own it I too would paint a bender. I'd cop a destructor for that price...everyday that goes by I find myself tempted to just get one. but I'll wait and see if a gender Bender destructor comes before I bend over and take it, lol.

let's hope to zoidberg jesus they come out with the set. i mean, it'd make alot of since considering they already have the molds for bender, and have made too many variants of him not to make a gender bender.

tho, hopefully they release the robot mafia and flexo morbo and lurr before xmas, because there would be nothing better. unless they relases the destructor/gender bender pack also...i'd evn buy a carded gender bender..do you think they'll make a carded version over a set with destructor? then i will have to get the SDCC destructor, even tho i really don't want it because the packaging.

Thanks dano!

That's kinda funny, cuz I rather like the packaging (aside from the misspell) - it's very akin to Destructor's persona, massive and steampunkish. The window in front is a nice touch too. I don't know if I would prefer him more in a regular colorful Toynami box or not. I like both packaging very much.

As far as doubles go, I am in kinda a dilemma over Santa Bender. i already have the build a bot Santa and would prefer not to get another one of him, though I do fancy Bender painted red.

That reminds me, I need to glue my Santa arm and gun - I've already had some fun displaying it in the past and it broke :hmpf: Should be an easy glue job though.

What about the alternate universe Fry and Leela, do you guys think it's worth it? Oh wait nevermind, I just checked and it isn't online anymore - I think I saw them for 60 or 70 bucks and was considering getting them when I had more money available.

*Just checked* The cheapest Santa and Bender is $66.00. If I passed on it when it was $60 I'm gonna pass on the bid war. I don't care for alternate versions that much to go crazy on them.

I just caved and purchased some of the I-men, one at auction (leela and roberto) and one at a BIN (fry and calculon)...and so it BEGINS AGAIN

They seem interesting, looking forward to their "magnetic" coin base. I presume they work similar to those "shoulder buddies" that are in all the toy stores now...

What the devil are these "shoulder buddies" you speak of? I only hit up the Star Wars aisle now and then so I'm entirely lost... Kids these days with their new-fangled complex toys.

Thanks for the pics Randi. I had a feeling he couldn't stand on his own because of how he's so top-heavy. They should've made his upper half lightweight and made his legs really solid to help counteract the issue (unless he IS hollow up top I which case it's something shitty that can't be avoided if you want accuracy). That or the could've at least given a stand along with him. I'd be more than angry if I'd waited so long for this and payed so much only to have something that cannot support itself properly on a shelf.

Oh yes, he definitely standson his own.

He is a bit heavy, but he appears to be hollow. Probably the material used and highly pressurized, because you can't really "squeeze" him to feel the hollowness, I did so in one spot (I tried not too hard to cause damage) and after much trying my suspicions appear to have been confirmed. But like I said, you wouldn't even be able to tell unless you picked it up, and even then some people might have a hard time judging.

I entirely misread you posts. :laff: You were merely referring to the posing you did with arms raised up. Haha, s'what I get for not fully reading posts several times over with a fuzzed up, lazy brain that's procrastinating heavily on a paper... Good to know he actually does stand on his own unless you want to get wild and crazy. I'm assuming he doesn't have complex articulation? What all does articulate besides the arms? Any knee/elbow/head/feet/etc. joints in there?

Each leg at the hip, the bottom "footcuffs", the shoulders, the wrists, and the head appear to be articulated. Though the best thing I can think of to do is just to raise his arms up heh.

Oh his torso moves around 360 degrees, just like the head! I just noticed that.

That's crazy though, I don't know if you were watching the same ones I was Vivek but I saw a few auctions a few days ago where people were overbidding one when there was a BIN at $260 or something. Crazy.

Yeah I noticed that one. Looks like some of the high bidding buyers really don't do extensive searching and miss out the other listings at BIN prices. I guess the phrase "Money is not an issue" rings true for them.

Of course it's their money they can do whatever they want with it, it's just that it escalates the secondary market value for these figures unnecessarily. So next time a seller may not list it below $400+ BIN price.

One more: Original Fry starting at 99 cents.

For us UKers, Forbidden Planet now says that they are expecting their Destructors on May 30th. Play.com still says April 27th.

Hopefully Play still gets theirs but I'm doubtful at this time. Toynami really pisses me off at times.

...did Danny get ahold of your password again? :O_o:

Wait, I actually just looked up the Tineez Wave 2. It's just variations of the same 3 characters? Whaaa? That seems kinda lazy IMO. Doesn't mean I still won't buy them though, Bee Bender is rather cute.

But they couldn't do other characters, like Calculon ir URL (since they seem to be avoiding the humanoid characters)? I think a Tineez Calculon would look suuuuuper cute.

Or could it be new molds cost serious R&D money.

And it's actually Tineez wave 1.2 or 1 1/2, it's just most toy sites (out of laziness) listed them as wave 2.

Toynami September Release Schedule-

Encores of Fry and Prof Farnsworth, Tineez wave 1.2, and Talking Robot Devil.

why the fcuk do the encores take the straight shot, yet the six figures they've been flaunting around are no where to be seen.

Real nice, I can tell you are from the D.

But, you raise a valid point.

Why develop figures to never be released and instead focus on encores?

Well... usually that means they are ending the series or trying to get funding up to keep it going properly.

As far as I see it... it's the latter, b/c encores generally sale well for Toynami.

In turn they can use that money to get more totally new products out the door.
