I just thought, since they do soundtrack albums for just every single TV show going, why not Futurama?  Have songs on it like "Don't You Forget About Me" and "Baby Love Child", and throw in the extended version of the Futurama theme!

Who else thinks this would be a good idea?

Usually, soundtracks for cartoons usually arnt thoose persay that is aired on an episode but songs that the characters sing, or tidbits of show and some songs.

10. The Elves are back to Work Today

The 4 days of Xmas, Santa Claus is gunning you down, Poppler song, the legend of El Chupanibre and the legend of Bender are a few other songs. There are alot of songs in the Simpsons as well and they have CD's out so they should bring out a Futurama one day soon, hopefully.

And a few instrumentals, like the Mar's University Theme, and an extended version of the song that was played when the crew landed on Planet Wormulon.  You know, stuff like that.

I have a little Futurama mix in my mp3 player, the tracks are as follows-

* Opening Theme
* Ending Theme
* Holophoner sonata
* Baby Love Child
* Don't You (Forget About Me)
* Orchestral arrangement from the end of Love and Rocket
* Orchestral arrangement from when the crew is traveling through the wormhole-doodle in Roswell That Ends Well
* Robot Hell

Not a Sonata... Trust me - I'm a musician.  :D

On the subject, yes it's a bloody brilliant idea - I want a CD release of the orchestral SCORE - not just the songs, which are available elsewhere.   :D

A full-blown Futurama OST would be great. In addition to the main theme and the cartoon songs, there should be an orchestral rendition for the main Futurama theme.

I wish that they would also give every main character their own theme, but hey, that's just 'Final Fantasy anime-loving' me.

I think someone made a Latin Remix of the theme song, and fatboy Slim made a song called psyche rock which is a 6 minute theme song. Also, "Bicycle built for two" should be included.
You know, the one Bender sings in Love & Rocket...

If the song at the end of "leela's homeworld" is baby love child by Pizzicato 5, why are the lyrics for both completely different?  :eek:

Say what?

I'm not sure what you mean - I have the Album Pizzicato 5 "Made in America", and the lyrics are the same...

The reason it hasn't come out is probably because Fox can't be arsed to get all the legal stuff for releasing other people's songs. I don't know if Fox Music are as tight as Fox TV when it comes to these things but its just MHO. I'm also not sure if Fox Music even exists.

But a CD of the songs the characters have sung would be cool. Better to wait until the series has ended than release one halfway through though.

And Bender favorite "whistle" or Fry's "walking on sunshine". And don't remember Jurrasic bark's closing song ("waiting for you" I think).

Let's not forget Gloria Estefan's "Conga" and Rush's "Tom Sawyer", both from AOI II.

And, Men Without Hats - Safety Dance, anyone?
