My pre-order came at the beginning of December. Still haven't opened it yet.
Then, today, the updated cards came.

So... due to a mixture of my overseas chum finding some sort of deal on shipping and them feeling bad for taking so long to send it to me, they've said they'll cover the shipping costs!

It's sort of awesome for me, but at the same time I feel bad because I hope they're not paying out of their nose for me. I'd happily pay it, you know?

It won't happen. USAopoly is the company behind it and they've not done a UK version of anything to my knowledge.

Try your local comic shop. I just went to mine to pick up a copy. The Elzar card is the only one that has the misprint.

Yeah, the ebay dealer was a dud. He apparently didn't have any in stock but put up an auction anyway, then tried to get me to substitute for one of his other things. I got my money back instead.

I must say it is a pretty awesome set. These new quick game rules will come in handy. Did anyone else notice that the resi-domes stack like the ones in the show?

Got the Futurama Monopoly ltd. edition with the replacement cards. There are five in all. Two are reprinted for reasons I cannot figure out, three are missing directives (aka collect $100). I kept the little letter if you want to see it.

On the one they changed Billionaire Robot to Billionaire Bot, and the other had a misspelling.

BTW sorry I edited your post, I meant to quote it instead so I deleted my verbage from it. Nothing was changed on it, though :p

Ah, that'd be why I couldn't tell the differences on the paper given. It was so subtle I either didn't catch it or they printed the same picture twice in the letter explaining the new set of cards.

Totally fine. I would've never noticed had you not said anything.

They are selling this at ThinkGeek now, don't know if they do international shipping:

Hmmm, still cheaper for me to get this particular normal edition at my local everynerd store. That and ThinkGeek is a bitch on returns. Yes, I'm nuts and want both versions of the game.

Here an additional information for all collectors:
Both boxes (pre-order version and regular version) have the same size and front side. But the pre-order version shows all seven tokens on the back side. So they produced two different boxes and you can easily identify the version by looking at the back side (no need to open the box). Before getting my limited version, I expected a simple sticker or something else saying "includes golden Bender token".

Now I'm happy!  :D

I got both versions, and that's exactly right. And both said "Collector's edition" on them. I wonder, do all Monopoly games say that?

Well I got two so I could play one, and keep the other in mint condition. Except I already opened the preorder one before I saw the regular one in stores  So I am just gonna switch out the money and whatever and play the regular version.

ThinkGeek, Amazon...I am sure you could find it. Though I know what you mean, if it's there in person you're kinda like "oh what the hell, okay..." as opposed to actually going online and putting in the effort to order something you don't actually need.

I never actually had to return anything on ThinkGeek ...but I did call once because they sent me a Star Trek glass set missing one glass, and they sent me a new set and told me to just keep the old one as well. So now I get to use my glasses and keep them pristine too! :D

I had ordered a Star Wars bottle opener once 'cause it looked cool but it wouldn't open my film canister...things.... for my photography class. Heck, it couldn't even GRIP the side of the container. So I had to send it back and we paid for the shipping then... Not exactly happy to learn I had to pay both ways.

My local store had it for $34.99, whereas online I see it for more like $39.99...plus shipping. Not even my gas bill would cost that much unless I drove all over creation looking for it. Too I'm not seriously searching for it online as of yet but I might start browsing casually for it sometime. :)

Too bad it's so odd shaped, I would check my local store and pick one up for you. The cost of shipping would be ridiculous though I'm sure, I picked mine ip with a Klingon monopoly for Buy one get one Half off at 39.99 full price...so i guess that makes both 25% off then.

Eh, it's no biggie. I'm just a naturally fussy woman when some other buyer prospects my stash. See, I'd hidden the game under a Family Guy edition...which was a mistake. I should've tried harder. What I should've done was hid the box elsewhere amongst the wide assortment of hats and clothes my store has. Nobody buys those or bothers to dig but me. Or better yet, under a the shelf that houses all the KidRobot merch, yeah... Nobody thinks to look under there I bet.

Hahaha 0mg, you sound just like me!! When I'm not sure if I will want to come back for something I will look for an item that has a crapload on the shelf that obviously isn't selling and hide it behind that. I also make people pricematch at the bigger retailers when a coupon comes up in the alotted time period, or if they don't allow that I just rebuy and return it on the higher priced receipt. Ah, the tricks of the trade...I've done it all. #confessionsOfAShopaholic

I've done that return trick before myself. Not recently, but I have done it. I went into Best Buy one day and someone had done a really poor job of it; they'd not even bothered to take Target's return policy sticker off the plastic wrap on the box! How they managed to get away with that I'm not certain. If you're gonna do that at least do it discreetly!

If we both went shopping together I'd almost hate to see the shenanigans we'd pull just to hide items. :laff:

You'd hate to see how AWESOME a duo we would make. Oh...the money we'd eventually save after spending a lot!!! :D

Best Buy doesn't even price match anymore, I overheard them say it's ending this month  I had them price match a Sims Expansion pack from Wal-mart's website that the actual store Wal-Mart didn't even have in stock :laff:

I guess we should get back to talking about the monopoly game eventually :shifty:

I have yet to play it since that one weekend the 4 of us played at leiapadme's, and we all fought over the smallest priced property, Cookieville Minimum Security Orphanarium. Never has a Monopoly game been so dependant on such a worthless piece as Baltic Avenue's equivalent :laff:

Did anyone here win that autographed copy? I am guessing no otherwise I would have seen a big post about it...I didn't even sign up for it, I already have 2 copies...

Say, have you looked at the cards in the normal edition? I lucked upon one at the same place I'd failed to buy it before! WINNING. So either someone bought it and they got out another one, it got hidden someplace by some other prospective buyer, or maybe it even got returned, though that one I doubt... Anyways, I ask because three of my cards were without directives! The normal edition was supposed to be fixed from the limited edition's mistakes wasn't it? Funny thing is, some of the cards replaced I don't believe were the original mis-prints. :laff:

Did it come with the gold Bender? Was the package still sealed? I was under the impression that only the Limited Edition had that problem, I haven't opened up regular edition yet, but when I do (I will have to soon to switch out new and used money/cards) I will let you know. Interesting thought.

I might have considered getting this if Monopoly in general didn't bore me to tears. Also, it'd likely be expensive to ship it down to this obscure, semi-unknown part of the planet.

Yeah, monopoly as a game is poorly designed, with players rarely getting a full set, and there being way too much of a gap between rents charged with and without houses.

Also, players often get knocked out of the game early and have nothing to do while everyone else finishes playing. Throw in loads of tedious counting of bills, issuing mortgages etc. and it can be a real drag.

I'm a huge fan of board games, just not the usual ones which are popular due to being old, and not due to being good.

I like Scrabble.
Difficult to really do a themed version of that though. Unless it was in alien alphabet... which would just be silly.
