There's a seller on Amazon actually trying to sell Zoidberg Series 1 WITHOUT box AND Devil's Head for $125.00. What an insult. Good luck.
To the seller and his genuine offer:" Well, that was dumb."

I recently got the Alternate Universe Fry & Leela at ebay for $52.00 w/ shipping.

I was bidding in an auction for the same figures, but I lost the bid and the winner ended up paying $55.00 + extra shipping, so I saw the recommended items when the auction ended, and bam! I got them for less money luckily in a "buy it now" item.

I think is a good price considering it is a limited edition of 2000.

It's on eBay in the UK too, he used to have like 15 available, gone down to 4 now, costs £40.48.

I have a Universe 1 Fry and Leela figure set too! Although, judging by the prices you guys paid for yours it seems I've been a little bit ripped off xD Oh well, an awesome collectable none the less. :P

I just ordered two talking Benders so I can have one mint in box for my shelf and... one for me to play with

i really wish talking Bender required more common type of batteries, like AA or AAA

What kind of batteries does it come with? I was thinking of ordering it but I won't if they are hard to replace.

Futurefreak if you want one get one! Batteries don't matter!!! He will end up on a shelve not being used anyway?

Then the batteries will probably leak and destroy the electronics... :nono:

Randi: Probably some button cells, but if there's a little battery case visible (which isn't on all action figures), they're not very hard to replace. Just a little screw, then the cells. :)

Requires 3 x 1.5V "AG13" Batteries, included.
Remove batteries when not in use or discharged.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel cadmium) batteries.

I wrote this just a few posts earlier :)

Ordered talking Bender today, had to get it shipped from the US as nowhere in UK has it yet. Cant wait to add to my Futurama Toynami collection. On a side note - Toynami sort out the release of Morbo and Lrr already, the wait now is the longest yet for new figures!  :nono:

We first got a look at Morbo in Feb last year. 16 months later not even a pre-release date. Will the rest of the figures we have seen at the Comic-Con make it in to production? If so 2014 seems like a realistic release date.

Have to say that I've been starting to have my doubts about the future of this line. I just don't get why we've seen all these prototypes, including Morbo and Lrrr forever now, and still nothing for pre-order. Hopefully we'll get something encouraging at SDCC 2011 next month, though last year's SDCC was a big disappointment with no exclusive figure for the first time.

[..] though last year's SDCC was a big disappointment with no exclusive figure for the first time.

well, Toynami had the Nibbler plush with a shinny Space Suit as exclusive item at the San Diego Comic Con 2010.

http://slurmed.com/news/2010-07-09/nibbler-plushie-san-diego-comic-con-2010-futurama-toynami-exclusive

Not an action figure, but there was an exclusive item by Toynami.

Sorry but i don't care much for the plushies.

If Toynami think the way forward is to release exclusive merchandise away from the action figure line they may as well through away the licence now.

We need something to look forward to and at this moment all we need is confirmation that we will be able to buy these figures sometime soon.

I don't want to dump on Toynami, as I couldn't ask for a more exciting lineup of figures to come as we saw this year at Toy Fair. But have to bear in mind that until convention prototypes show up as actual pre-order items, they don't really exist.

Long waits for figures are nothing new with this toy line, but not having new stuff available for pre-order soon after we see it is. It's just worrying, as great lines have been known to die with great prototypes left on the drawing room floor.

Some signs of life at SDCC 2011 would be nice, though I'm not holding my breath for a convention figure exclusive. What I'd like to see are Morbo, Lrrr and/or Series 10 (Clamps, Joey) in actual boxed items for retail. We've seen this in the past at conventions when a retail release is imminent.

Though they rarely reply, I just fired off an email to Toynami (inquiries@toynami.com) asking them what's up. If anyone else feels like doing the same, it never hurts for companies to get some prodding from customers to let them know people out there still actually care about their products.

It's a coincidence, Jabalong, that two days ago I too sent Toynami an email asking about the Futurama line!
I have not heard anything back at this point.  I have gotten replies in the past though, so that's something!

Could be that they consider it okay to release at least some of their Futurama stuff. They've put out four new Benders since the last main figure series release.

My Zoidberg came in the mail today! It was $125 + $5 s & h, more than I wanted to spend but long last after 3 years he is MINE! Cam with original packaging, devil's head, and stethoscope (and of course Zoidberg lol).

This was not the one on Amazon I saw for $125 under "Collectible" where they were missing the head and box. I was watching the prices in the "New" category for a few weeks when one started to drop, and another one joined in and both were at $150. I waited since there were two and I figured one might eventually drop, and one did to match the $125 collectible price so when I saw that I pounced! Hooray that it came in like how I expected :D

i'm glad i copped mine before the huge craze.

only spent $10 on mine.

i realized you gotta pay up for the exclusives. so the most i've spent is $130 on the glorious golden bender. well worth it.

@jaba, i too have sent an e-mail. but i'm not holding my breath for a reply. toynamis infamous for not relasing on set dates. that, or they're planning something huge. coughplanetexpressscaleshipco ugh, lol.

Yes; his last name is Bender.  He's great guy (and he just got promoted to the head of IT) but I'm sure he doesn't watch Futurama.

Quote from: tachyon link=topic=15081.msg1145691#msg1145691
When you've sending a test (voice) message to the IT center on another campus, where one of the techs is named Bender and who doesn't watch Futurama.  He wondered why the other tech was laughing to "Bite my shiny metal ass" playing on the speakerphone.

His personality is almost 180º from the Bender character but I think he might get a kick out of it.
