On alt.tv.simpsons, Simpsons Writer, Ian Boothby commented:

Did you like the Flintstones meet the Jetsons? Okay, no one really did
but...

Just wanted to plug a comic that I'm doing with James Lloyd for Bongo this summer. The Simpsons and Futurama are crossing over for a two issue limited series. More info as I'm allowed to spill it but the book is looking really good.

If they do this right, it could be very cool...

So long as Amy doesn't get the same amount of coverage as Maggie, it could be good...

And if they do it wrong, it could be very crap. I'll stay optimistic though.

Though i don't find that helpful, I was cheered by a previous post you made about them making a book with all the futurama comics in it. That is awesome since I do have most of the Simpsons ones, and I can get them at coles or chapters...

Quoted by my own update:
The Brain Sporns from 'The Day The Earth Stood Stupid" are back to trap the Futurama gang inside a dated Simpsons comic book with their oh so powerful brain powers! In this special Bongo Comic mini series, you get to see Bender hang out and drink beer with Homer, and watch Maggie play with lovable Nibbler. Expect the first issue of this two part mini series to hit store shelves late August and issue two to be released October of 2002. Once both issues are released, Bongo Comics will make a mini reprint book of the two issues that will equal 52 pages.

and randi, yes, we're all lazy.

You're going to have to work a little harder to convince us you're lazy, Bart...

I hope Nibbler doesn't eat Snowball II or Santa's Little Helper...meanwhile, Fry and Bart can have a contest regarding who can go longest without changing their underwear (or the rest of their clothes, for that matter)...

I'd like to see Nibbler eat Maggie actually.

That sounds cool, at least it's good that the brains are back, and the way the Simpsons and Futurama characters meet sounds like the best way they could have done :)

In last week's issue of Comics Buyer's Guide:

Quote
A two-part mini-series will entangle characters from The Simpsons and Futurama in a crossover Crisis. Infinity Secret Crossover Crisis #1 is scheduled to ship in August, featuring tha Planet Express crew meeting the Simpsons. Bongo Comics has described the plot, "Take one millenial edition of a Bongo comic, add in two Brain Spawns, mix in one 20th century man plucked out of time who's destined to save the universe, and stir it up with an interstellar three-eyed creature with a huge appetite... and anything's possible."

If they came to this century, Fry would at least know some of the technology. But, what if the Simpsons got sent to New New York, that'd be awesome!

I hope so too, but I havn't seen any of the other Futurama comics there. Maybe because it's half Simpsons, they'll get it and sell it off as Simpsons merchandise ;)

It is cool, I just got it this morning. Very nicely done, so far. But now I have to wait until December...?! Is there going to be a Futurama Comic coming out in October to hold me over?!

I'm certain some enterprising fella on eBay has one... or you could just wait for the inevitable trade paperback, which should be easier to get outside the States.

No new Futurama comic for October but the first trade paperback should be hitting stores this month and from what I have heard they have already started showin up at some comic shops. According to Diamond Comics Futurama Comics 10 should be hitting the shelves in November. I would guess the end of the month and not the beginning on that one. The month after that (December) will see the release of the second part of the Futurama/Simpsons crossover so there will be plenty to tide us all over through the end of the year.  :)

I never even saw this comic, though I guess I've been in New Zealand for ages where they don't really have anything... is it available on the net somewhere, and is there a new one by now?

Funny you should ask this as the second part is supposed to be released here in the US in December while the crossover will start reprinting in the UK version of Futurama Comics with issues 3 and 4. So that would be February I believe.

I thought that the idea of a crossover comics were cool. Only if they did that into a two, maybe three, part episode.....
