Hey everyone,
After scouring long and hard I still haven't been able to confirm the release date (if any!) Region 4 Futurama DVDs.. I'm new to the whole DVD thing and don't really konw that much about Regions BUT I found a site http://www.dvdfever.co.uk/reviews/futur1.shtml
that said the Region 2 Futurama Season 1 set is also suitable for Region 4. Can someone please explain this? And also when IS the Futurama Season 1 dvd box set for region 4 coming out? Cheers.

My season 1 set is on order from amazon UK and from what I've heard, they work on region 4 players just fine. I don't care though, as I've got a multi-region player.

There was a topic about this recently at Can't Get Enough Futurama. The DVDs have a copyright warning for Australia; therefore, they must play Region 4. I haven't tested it myself, mind you, but replies to the CGEF topic back this up.

Yes, the DVD set sold on amazon.co.uk is regions 2 and 4. PowerDVD, WinDVD, and DVD Genie say so. I believe them.

I don't think they're in stores over here. You'll probably have to order online.

I rang MINOTAUR in Melbourne today and they have it, although they claim it will only work on a Region 2 player. I told the guy the info I found about it also 'allegedly' (I still NEED CONFIRMATION!) playing on Region 4.. now to see if i can buy and try and if it doesn't work if i can return it...! I'll keep all you eager Aussie fans posted. Thanks

I've got a screencapture that should prove it, I just don't know how to post it. Will someone guide me?

Once you've uploaded the file to the Web, use the image tags to link to your screencapture:

Right, but my webhost doesn't allow outside links. I hate Freeservers.

Anyway, give me a couple of minutes and I'll try to create a Webpage for it.

ahuh...

So basically for australia, the only way to get the DVDs is to order them from o'seas online? Guhhh annoying and time consuming! I really want to see Season 3, 4, 5...? yeah I don't even know anymore!

Where's the device that lets you speed or slow the passage of time?
50$ US for beer coasters.. Oh my yes.. I just placed my odor at http://www.bensonsworld.co.uk
for 32 GBP & free shipping. The pixelation from the vcd's is becoming annoying, that & only holding 3 episodes max ( usually just 2 ) per disk.

I had asked a friend of mine in Northern Ireland to send me the season 1 box set, but he couldn't find it anywere at the time so I told him not to worry about it. I heard a few people say that Kings Comics (who have a shop around the corner from me) were going to import some region 2 copies  in (which also work on region 4, but it doesn't worry me, as I have a multi-region player), but I haven't heard any more about it for a month now.

I've got all 56 episodes on my PC though, so I can wait a while.

Thanks McFly! *knock knock knock... Anybody home?* Sorry I just felt compelled to type that. No real reason... Maybe just the fact that I haven't heard anyone say it to ME in a few years. "Crud, at this point in my life I thought *I'D* be the one making the witty remarks.." i guess not.
Yeah, me's getting excited now re: the DVDs. Thanks for the heads-up. If only public access TV in Australia hadn't screwed Futurama over so... *laments*

Just a note to anyone who has resisted the temptation to import the season 1 set. Whereas HMV is quoting $85, PlanetDVD is quoting only $65. Pays to shop around...
