Forgive the double post. Are there any comics that you were disapointed in that you wish you could change?

Which ones didn't you like that you think could've been different?  Mine are:

issue #41:  Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg run afoul from the law because of something Bender did, and pose asw plumbers at a high society party and wreck havok and mess up everything.

issue #54:  Hermes looks for his beloved weed  he hidden away, only to see that it's gone missing.  Bender discovers a desert planet that sells it dirt cheap.  Bender and Hermes go on a road trip around the planet and a mad scientist wants the weed for a doomsday device.

issue #62:  A parody of BJ and the Bear.  With Bender as BJ, Nibbler as The Bear, Zapp as Lobo, Fry as Perkins, and Zoidberg as Birdy.

Solidsnake - I disagree that this issue would have made a good episode. I am not sure how they would have worked in the reverse storytelling aspect of the comic in to the show. I think it works much better as a comic where the reader is free to go back and forth and read as they see fit to get the full enjoyment out of it.

KurtPikachu2001 - Much has been said about the off model drawing of Mike Kazaleh and while he is not my most favorite Futurama artist I think his art fits a story like this - not a lot of outside activity, no space scenes, just the characters interacting with each other and the layouts of the pages are standard so nothing crazy there.

Stories I would like to see change? That is a good question. I have not read most of the 40's and 50's to this point so I can't comment on the ones you mentioned. Beyond that I have enjoyed a good many of the stories printed so far that I have read and while some don't land the way they exactly should (whether it be art or story) I know that they are building towards something and the quality overall has been really good.

gee, i had to read issue #68 twice, because i didn't understand what do the comic's mean! My mistake was i didn't really notice the time. Still a great comic though.

The only problem is that there's no preview for issue #69, like there usually is at the end of the comics.  Wonder why that is?

There is a short preview for #69

Cool cover!   It'll be released maybe in late Octobor.  That's around my birthday.  Hope there's an issue #70!  Wonder what that one will be about?

The cover reminds me of a Sonic the Hedgehog comic cover.  tell me if you think these covers are a lot alike.

So, I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but do you guys consider the comics cannon with the TV shows? Or do you think it runs in it's own continuity? Maybe some are in with the show, and some aren't?
Also, has the show ever referenced the comics? I've never noticed any reference, But I figure maybe someone else has.

I believe much like the Simpsons Comics they are separate but run concurrently with the show. In other words they cannot kill of a character in the comic without having them be alive by the end of the show.

Right now the only thing that I know of that is similar from the show and the comics comes from the episode Meanwhile and the Futurama Simpsons Crossover Crisis. Anybody pick up on it? I am not sure if it was intentional or a direct link but it appears too similar to not be connected in my opinion.

Wow, that's some off-model art. Looks like some sort of Disney version of Futurama :p
Did the same artist that did the bad Zoidberg drawing I believe saw on the last page do this one, too?

I'm halfway through 68 and it's pretty, pretty bad imo. The storyline is ehh...confusing, to say the least, and Kazaleh really is terrible. At least Freako's hatred for him isn't unfounded.

Yeah, he's a really nice guy but he just doesn't have it wrt the Futurama characters.  Freako should definitely do some work for Bongo.

Also I'm pretty sure Freako's work would be banned...unless he knows how to draw clothes and consensual sex. :shifty:

No
It barely has a continuity. Mostly due to Lloyd and Rogers, see this, this and this. Also kinda Time Bender Trilogy and Crossover Crisis (which has poor continuity between the two crises).
Yes.

Not sure what you mean here. Both Meanwhile and Futuramarutuf had a reverse time travel button, which isn't what you mean.

I still dont get it. The non-hovering hovercars? I don't understand the comics logic.
LA uses cars with wheels. This isn't so much comics logic as it is Kazaleh not knowing what he's doing.

Just read the last issue, along with Tartar House Five. Very nice. The drawings weren't that bad, though definently a little off model. The story was nice, though the Robot Mafia appearance was kind of random.

Quolnok, I read the question by Tachyon as if there was something in the comics that was later used in the show. While the time button is similar and was wondering if they were the same thing and a reference to one another (and the comic came out before Meanwhile aired) I did not consider that a direct reference. I would guess the show Meanwhile was written some time ago and then issue 68 was written after even though they appeared at relatively the same time. Sine they both had Patric Verrone in common I would certainly think they have a striking resemblance to one another and might well be the same thing.

No, the reference I was noting was from the Crossover Crisis. In that issue Dracula makes an appearance. On top of the Vampire State Building Dracula or another vampire also makes an appearance and they both look very similar. Since the Crossover came out such much in advance of this episode even being written I surmised that it could have been something the show 'stole' from the comic. It might be a bit of stretch but it was the only thing I could think of.

Futurefreak, hope you made it through the entire issue. I had similar issues with getting through it the first time and following everything but not until I read it in the alternate methods did it really start to make sense and become fun.

I read #68 and was incredibly confused. I know it is trying some crazy format, but I just couldn't follow it. It didn't help that the art was pretty bad.

It didn't help #68 at all with #67 having a far better time travel story and great art: http://www.bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/image86.jpg

And thanks, I'll give that a try. It's still a confusing format. :P Doesn't help that the story itself isn't that exciting and takes place within one room the whole time.

So I got issue #67 yesterday (US issues #67 and #68), and it says it's the last ever issue, which is obviously not true. What's going on? Why are Titan stopping publication of the comic?

I like how the Futurama Comics get so much better and better with their time-travel related stories. I mean Tar-Tar House Five was great. It was funny, great story, awesome gags, deserves a 9/10.

This was good. Nothing special, but these time-travel stories have really been getting enhanced. Comic #68 is probably the perfect example. Not really a bunch of good gags/jokes, but it had a really confusing story that makes you want to try and line the pieces up together. I'd give it a 7.5/10. Taking .5 off because of the awful, awful Mike Kazaleh illustrations. These are undoubtedly his worst yet.

That is entirely possible. Otter Press seems to have stopped releasing the Australian printings a while back. You'll just have to find a comic shop before next month's issue.

You have to find them on a comic solicitations website.
The infosphere gets it's comic info from the solicitations that are released on comic sites.
All I can find are the DC and Marvel solicitations for November and December!

Yeah, Bongo's December has nothing Futurama related. Just Sergio, Spongebob, Simpsons and Lisa Simpson. January's Bongo solicitations are about a week away. 2013 is a 5 issue year.

I just read the latest comic, 'Futuramarutuf" (as now that the series has ended, I'm getting my Futurama fix from the comics), and I've come to the conclusion that Mike Kazaleh was The Hippie Toad 4.0.
Seriously, though. His crappy artwork dragged this one down really, really far, at least for me. The story, although very confusing, worked out alright, but I much preferred the time travel story in "Follow the Reader" to this one. FTR's story actually moved out of one room and was overall more fun to read, while this one was more mid-boggling, and took me a few re-reads for me to fully understand it. Like I said, Mike's shoddy artwork didn't help this one at all, and had the art been better, I probably would've liked this one more. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give this comic a 7/10.

So, it's just five issues this year?  That's fine.  So, issue #69 is the last one this year.

Too bad because the comics have been very good this year.  Better than the last season.  (No offense there).   My guess is, what will happen with the comic is going the same route as it did back in 2005 when a new Futurama comic won't be released until May or something.   Anyone remember that?

My rankings for this years comics are:

issue #65:  Good story about the sun being taken away and Fry, Leela, and Bender had to resort to gambling to get it back.  Good but not too great.   3.5

issue #66: Fun little diddy about then going into a universe that's based on board games.  Very funny and it was good to see The Hunger Games get made fun of!   4.5

issue #67 : Excellent one of the bunch!  Zoidberg has to save the world from an impending armageddon and stop Mom from marrying Nixon!  Could've been a real episode!   5.5

issue #68:  Liked this one too.   Though more could've been done with it liked seeing the Robot Mafia.  It would've been better if they had gone to space to get another box that would break the loop.   4.5

Let's bring on issue #69.  It might be the last new one for a while anyway.  That's fine.  That gives me time to get some Johnny the Homicidal Mainiac comics.

Anywho, I find it pretty odd how the new one's being released next Wednesday, similar to how each new episode premiered Wednesdays, instead of it's normal end of the month deal.
