Got #61 and #62 yesterday. I think I'll go along with what's been said - #61 was awesome. Though it was sometimes off-model, I really liked the art style too - not sure who is most responsible for it but it went together well. Story was just all-round fun too.

#62 had some good bits to it, but the story seemed a bit week and Zapp's motives seemed very creepy, much more disturbing than anything I remember in the show.

The one-page comic...well I'll just agree with what's been said. I'd almost think it was fan-art sent in except it wasn't in the fan-art section...

From what I could dig up.. seems the next issue is still slated for an October 3rd release date.

This can.. and probably will change.

They still haven't come out with #62 at my Toys R Us and the comic shop nearest me that carries these is like 45 minutes away! Arg!

Aw that's nice of you to offer. I'll check back again this week though and if they still don't, I dunno. I might just order it online. I'd rather pay a couple extra bucks and have it shipped than drive an extra 30 miles to pick it up.

Online, no doubt. Speaking of online, this is a really fantastic Lot for those who need the early issues and live in the United States (or have a friend in the US who can ship to them). I'm gonna watch that one and see what it goes for.

Haha.

So I ordered 62 online. $3 more (with shipping) but I don't have to drive 50 minutes to a comic shop near where my ex works to get it so...I made the right choice lol.

Maybe the interview was from when they only had good artists.

When was that again?

Issue #63 is not coming on October 3rd either.

Perhaps October 10th will be the release date?

Also the cover for US issue #64 looks amazing, as I love Robot Santa!!
Kings added 63 to their site on Friday with the Oct 3rd date, so it probably is out this week.

Got #62 in the mail bagged and boarded yesterday. Now to save it for one of these late nights so I may enjoy it thusly :D (although I still have sitting here 60 and 61 yet to read!)

Also: Has anyone seen the cover of #63 yet? How come sometimes they choose to put the title in its own separate colored box on top (like #60) and other times they don't (like #61 and #62). It's alerting the OCDness in me.

Just got and read number 63 today.  I enjoyed it overall and it was mildly humorous, but even though the cover explicitly stated that the action packed cover was deceptive I couldn't help but want an action-y futurama comic.  I haven't read back through the past comics recently but I'm sure somewhere along the line there was some suspense, drama, and action, along with the funny.  I wish they would incorporate all that together in the comics, but maybe I'm just air balling with my thoughts.  Perhaps I should just stick with dead pool...

I gotta go look for issue #63 soon.

It comes out two weeks after the release date where I live, and I've heard this is quite common.

I remember my school library having some Futurama comics. I can't remember anything about them other than the fact that I wasn't terribly impressed.

I just got it no problem. It's pretty good! :D Maybe the cover drew in a lot of new readers? Not that it's mind-blowing, it's just that it has robots all over it.

Having robots all over something always helps it sell. Unless it's a pizza.

That might help, as long as there's no robotic body parts on the pizza itself. :p

I found issue #63 today after some serious looking.

I quite enjoyed it, it was funny and interesting.

Good to see what amounts to a Igner and Bender story, and it's nice they acknowledged that the Prof. is his father again.
And the Prof giving Igner candy for Halloween in July was quite funny.

Update:
I also liked how the cover caption made fun of the artwork not being anything like the issue.
And how Mom reacted when Igner changed her plans and the surprise she gave him.

Felt too closely related to issue 50's conclusion.

I don't understand.

63 hasn't arrived at Kings' yet, so still waiting to see it.

#65 has now been solicited: http://theinfosphere.org/Futurama_Comics_65. Paying a solar power bill to people on the Sun; Hmm, Son of the Sun, Ra-Ra the Sun King, someone else? Taking all bets!

Yeah, but if the robot was made of pizza I think we'd be golden. Functional and edible! :D

I really liked this issue; it felt like an episode as opposed to the last couple which have entirely felt like cheapo comics meant to be entirely non-canon or something. They seemed to have actually tried this time around and I appreciate that.

Both #64 and #65 sound like really fun issues.

I can't wait until they get released.
