Well I have a US copy (ordered off eBay thinking it was a UK one) and the difference is huge. First off the over all perimeter is much larger than the US, we get different gifts in ours, the US one didn't seem to have a Fan Art page, ours had a pull-out poster of the covers of both stories but both of them had a Zapp Bran comic at the end.  ;)

While this is all true, the American ones seem more authentic to me. The UK ones with gifts make them seem more aimed at 5 and 6 year olds. I used to buy UK ones a long time ago, and the paper quality was slightly better I admit, but it felt more like a magazine than a comic. Something didn't sit right with me, and you expect comics to have poor quality printing anyways. You get the good printing when they turn them into TPB's. I like a comic to be comic sized, you know what I mean?...

Well I wouldn't understand, all comics are the same size in the UK.  :laff:

:laff: Yep, i know what you mean, Otis.
It's the same with me, the Futurama comics were the first 'real' comics i ever read. The German issue here has approximately the same size as the US ones i guess, and has neither a fanart section, nor come gifts with them. The print resolution isn't very high; i guess 180 or 360 DPI only. Makes a real comic book feeling. :D

Take the plunge into a treasure trove of Bongo comics with a brand-new, exclusive, one day, one-shot collection of stories featuring The Simpsons and Futurama
These free comics from Bongo always contain a Futurama comic.
BTW, i don't have it. That's always the problem when you live in a small town. :(

Cool thing, fridge magnets!
But some of the drawings look creepy..especially the one with Fry sitting on Bender's womb, or should it be Fry as little boy?
But yes, the Leela one looks good!

scififry, that's a Puppet of Fry from 'Dummy Up!' that turns out to be evil.

Otis, yes they are with the UK version only. Well they might be in some of the European editions, no idea, but I know they aren't with the US version. ;)

Ahh, I knew it would have something to do with the story.

Hm, other European editions? I don't know in which countries the comics are released, Germany was one of the first, and here come single-issues without any gifts/extras.

Your fridge is stylin! :D I am too chicken to take them out of their mold on the magnetic sheet.

OK, so I read issue #54 finally exactly what is the problem, other than them goofing on Zapp's hair outline in his story in the back that irritates me to no end? :laff:

Yeah, Fry ripped off the Magnetic part, had to glue him back on, the walking Bender's arm ripped a little and the PE Ship's wings bent slightly. Amy and Kif just popped out. :)

Just checked on the Infosphrere about issue #56 Would You Like Fry With That.  It said, 'expected in July'.  Does that mean that one can be delayed?

Perhaps. We always say "expected" for things you buy at a shop that aren't out yet. Toynami's stuff is almost certain to be delayed a few months, but Bongo's is always out on one of the last two Wednesdays of every other month, unless there's a printing, shipping or other issue pushing it back to the first Wednesday of the next month (see issues 39 and 41)

It didn't say an exact date like it usually does.

Anyway, I am very happy with issue #55!  Loved how Fry gave the cowardly sherriff some advice, and the best part was Bender and Mad Max!  I liked the Wiley Coyote thing in it, and how Bender fought Master Blaster and Mad Max said he wanted Bender to be a leader and he wanted to produce movies!  Hilarious rip on Mel Gibson.  This should've been a real Futurama episode.

The Leela storyline was funny as well, even though I've never seen Advatar.  It was cool how she kicked butt, and to think she  possibly bound and shackled in issue #54.  Never should've happened!  Glad I skipped that one.

Anyway, issue #55 rocked!  Although there was a drawing error in Fry's shoes.

5/5

...and to think she was all weak and helpless and possibly bound and shackled in issue #54.  Never should've happened!  Glad I skipped that one.

Weak? No, she beat up heaps of big aliens. Helpless? Leela is not incapable of being taken by surprise, can not see behind herself, isn't resistant to drugging and can't break through what may have been indestructable glass with nothing more than cutlery. That isn't helpless, and that kind of stuff has happened in the show, just not all at once. Bound and shackled? Didn't happen.

He is pretty much the only person who pencils Futurama comics nowa days, problem is he draws the characters like a five year old would, cars have wheels and aliens are just humans with animal heads.

I know this cause I read them all at the same time. ;)
