It’s a comic of gargantuan proportions when Amy accidentally spritzes herself with a less than refreshing enlarging spray. Soon Amy is an unstoppable and unfashionable behemoth unceremoniously destroying New New York City. Not to mention that Bender bites off more bit torrents than he can chew as a video pirate, and the 50-foot Amy is soon on a collision course with his classic film-inspired flights of fancy.

This is gonna be, once again, written by Ian Boothby...with art by...*GASP*! SOMEONE OTHER THAN MIKE KAZALEH!
It's gonna be drawn by Carlos Valenti...if you read Bart Simpson Comics you'll recognise him (he's done some great art for the Bart series, so his Futurama stuff should be good).

A story that actually focuses on Amy?  Pity they never really tried that on the show.

*Cough*Where The Buggalo Roam*Cough*

 ;)

But I agree, they didn't do enough...meanwhile we were overloaded with incredibly 'meh' episodes like "A Leela of Her Own".

...was really more of a Kif episode.  Amy spends about half the episode off-screen.  I'd hardly say it focuses on her.

You might want to get that cough checked out, though.

Wow. I see Amy will finally get recognition, even if it means destroying New York. I'm guessing this issue will consist of Amy slowly getting bigger every page, or will she suddenly just grow 50 feet. And by the looks of Fry he seems to be enjoying Amy's new height.

Finally, an Amy story!  Every character on Futurama deserves a big part.  Looks very promising!  Plus, it seems like it's going to parodize monster movies like King Kong and Godzilla!  I'm looking forward to this!

More likely, it'll parody Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.

On the subject of 'first' issues, Bongo seems to have a habit of using a story in which things become giant for their first story; examples:

"The Amazing Colossal Homer" - Simpsons #1; An experiment gone wrong causes Homer to grow 50 feet tall.
"Monkey Sea Monkey Doom" - Futurama #1; Pretty much the same thing as Simpsons #1.
"Big Fat Trouble In Little Springfield" - Bart #1; Bart eats too much and dreams he's the biggest person in Springfield.

This reminds me of my old fanfic, THE GULK.  It had Amy go all monster and terrorize the city.

Perhaps they liked your fanfic so much they made it into the comic.

No, Bongo doesn't copy fanfics; due to legal technicalities they actually refuse to, just to be on the safe side. So it's really just a coincidence. Anyway...cover art time!

Fry's liking Amy, and Leela's jealous!  :D

Then again, another example of an unhappy Leela on a comic cover.  :hmpf:

I like how Leela's looking at Fry like that. It suggests she really has feelings for him and is jealous. Ah, it reminds me of the first Anthology of Interest with the 500-ft tall Bender and Zoidberg, destroying none other than New New York.  ;)

I'm getting more of a "why the hell are you staring when you should be running for your life, moron" vibe than a "grrr, I'm jealous" vibe from that look...

Yeah, same here. Also, I see Hermes and Zoidberg in Planet Express playing some sort of game. Zoidberg would eat all the pieces, and Hermes just hates Zoidberg.

Personally I don't think that building looks anything like Planet Express. The color of the walls are way off, and there's supposed to be a balcony around the domed part that Amy's ripping off.

Oh yeah... oops. Curse my disability to not notice something so obvious. It was just that Hermes never leaves the office, Zoidberg couldn't afford to be anywhere else, and Amy ripped off a tower-ish thing.

I think Bongo are running low on ideas, in almost every issue some one is small or huge.

That's not true at all. There's only two out of 33 issues that use that idea.

I'll even prove it:

1 - Big sea monkeys
2 - Aliens hijack the PE ship
3 - Leela collects Needie Newbies. Idea of them growing big is only SUGGESTED and is not an actual plot element
4 - Leela becomes a jungle queen, with Zapp
5 - Fry appears on "Morob's millionaire death show"
6 - Fry, Leela and Bender uncover a plot that involves Santa luring everyone to Times Square
7 - A parody of "The Terminator"
8 - A parody of "X-Men"
9 - Fry and the Professor switch bodies
10 - The crew becomes the Olympic swurling team
11 - Fry catches a cold, although the cure no longer exists
12 - Fry and Zoidberg become sideshow freaks
13 - Bender becomes the Robot Devil
14 - six interconnecting stories featuring the main characters
15 - Fry stars in "Space Boy: The Movie"
16 - Fry, Leela and Bender are enrolled in boarding school
17 - Everyone on earth except the three main characters (and Cubert) disappear
18 - Fry, Leela and Bender taken to three separate eras in time
19 - The crew gets everyone back to the future
20 - Bender feels under-appreciated, goes on bending spree, goes into Bongo offices
21 - Fry sends messages to an alien race via his 20th century mercury fillings
22 - Bender becomes the physical fitness czar, while Fry is the New New York tube system's grease monkey
23 - Bender accidentally brings the old Planet Express crew back
24 - The What If? machine shows two different stories; what if it were Xmas every day, and what if life were a sitcom
25 - Bender becomes a Robin Hood-like character
26 - Leela's past and future selves are plucked out of time
27 - Fry, Leela and Bender have to exterminate the Magmoid's from the Earth's core
28 - The crew gets trapped in the Scary Door universe
29 - The crew is shrunk to deliver a package to a bottle city
30 - Fry discovers he owns a copy of a rare comic, and goes into Old New York to retrieve it
31 - Nibbler opens wormholes and Zoidberg is put in charge of immigration
32 - Dr. Who parody, starring Zoidberg
33 - Amy grows, terrorizes New New York

---

So please, tell me how "nearly every issue has someone growing big", when in fact the only issues to do so at the moment are #1 and #33.
