not really, I need zoidberg and fry as well.  They're crazy expensive.  I would but them for maybe 200 for the set, but some people want 200 for just zoidberg. its nuts.  I just keep checking eBay

Are you serious about those prices? I was expecting them to go up in price after they're sold out for a while. But $ 200 for one figure? That's insane!

Hm, I need to check how much Golden Bender and Mating Season Zoidberg are going for. I could be sitting on a goldmine here.

For Fry, you can pick up an "encore" version pretty cheap, but without the Robot Devil torso. I'm surprised Toynami hasn't done an encore version of Zoidberg, as they must know how expensive he's become and how well a re-release would sell. Sometimes I really wonder what Toynami's thinking.

maybe they view the mating season and blue zoidbergs as variants enough... even though those are also going for $100 now

With September a few days away, I pre-ordered my Obsolete Bender and URL over at BigBadToyStore. Don't know if the September due date will get met, but psychologically it feels good anyway to have my order in the works.  :p

By the way, I notice that this thread has over 18,000 views! That blows away any other Futurama product thread on Peelified. Hopefully Toynami's paying attention and seeing the interest in the product line among Futurama fans here.

Came across an eBay listing where someone sold these 15 figures for just over 200 bucks:

These are loose figures mind you, but the original Zoidberg's in there, which goes for an arm and a leg if you can find it, there's all three build-a-bots, and another 11 figures. Not a bad haul I'd think for a couple hundred.

lmao, that is insane. I got my regular Zoidberg a little while after it came out, and I got Fry when it rereleased without the build-a-bot part, I had no idea they were valuable now.
I shouldn't have taken Zoidberg out of his package and then broken him. :p

Who I still really want is Zapp.

As for the build-a-bot parts, I don't really care, I never completed any of them, I just got the heads. I saw Mom today with Roberto's head, think I might get that.

As for Lrrr, look at him next to wooden Bender! Surely those two can't be the same price, Lrr is like 12 times as big!

As for the plushies, does anyone else think Bender is adorable in his ridiculous terribleness?

I'm surprised I don't see more build-a-bot parts for sale on eBay and the like. There must be lots of build-a-bots out there waiting to be built with all the loose parts spread around different people's drawers, shoeboxes, etc. I guess people hold on to the parts on the off chance they might one day get the other figures and/or it's not worth the bother to sell the parts for a few bucks.

BTW, forgot to ask earlier. In that picture I posted above of the 15 figures for sale on eBay, can anyone tell me what that little critter is beside Nibbler? Some little thing in blue with pink feet and pink ears. That's nothing to do with Futurama, is it?

Ah cool, okay.

Was pretty sure it hadn't come with the Toynami figures, though wondered if I might not be losing it, yet nevertheless was too lazy to go double-check my bag of accessories.  :laff:

Checking them out at this Infosphere page, it looks like KidRobot did some cool accessories for their Futurama figures. A pizza box for Fry, a violin for Robot Devil, a cigar for Bender...!

Damn. Oh well, we had some great build-a-bots from Toynami, so guess can't have everything.

Hm, that gets me to thinking if I should get these? Until now I only collected the Toynami line. But now that I've had a closer look at the KidRobot toys. I think I want to get in on these too. They're not in scale but I like the over-the-top funky characteristic style they have. And they even have Slurms McKenzie!

Does anyone know a place online where you can order these out of the box? I don't want to order blind boxes and get doubles I have to sell online again.

I'd be down for a set of these as well, but have no interest in the whole blind box / chase figure game. And the problem is, other than playing, you're going to have to pay a mint to buy these - saw the Robot Devil on eBay for $200!

If you check out that Infosphere page I linked to above, the problem is that besides this whole blind box game, KidRobot has also taken some of the arguably most popular characters (most of the cool aliens) and made them in reduced quantities.

Only 1% are Robot Devils, 5% are Slurms and Sals, and 6% Lrrrs, Morbos or Zoidbergs, while the others are all 12%. So it's that much more of a rigged game in that everyone's scrambling for an insufficient quantity of some of the best ones.

That's my read on this thing anyway. If they were available in relatively even quantities in boxes that you know what you're getting, like Toynami, I'd have been all over these. But otherwise, this reminds of those nearly impossible to win Carnival fair games.

I risked it and got two (which turned out to be Zapp and Leela); not the best but not the worst of their series. Also the odds on Sal and Slurms aren't specified, so the 5% is the combined total, they are probably around 2.5% each.

I don't understand why these have to be sold in blind boxes. If I want to buy something I want to see what it is I'm buying. The fact that I can't see what it is and that I just have to wait and see isn't fun. It's frustrating. KidRobot is trying to make some easy extra bucks out of diehard collectors. DAMN YOU KIDROBOT! I mean... these are cool toys but damn the way they're being sold. Especially when it's several mini figures you're trying to collect.

I think I'll just start getting these one at a time and stop when I start getting (too many) doubles.

that is the right way to do it... I bought them in boxes until i only had a few left, and was fortunate to pull a RB devil from a box, then just bought the ones i was missing on eBay

Yikes, that's a lot of wasted money. Or would be without eBay.

Back on topic, it is my opinion that Entertainment Earth will update their page for series 9 some time this week or early next week saying they are either in or delayed.

no, almost definitely not, that eBay store is scamming you... lots of places pull the robot devil pieces out and sell the figures cheaper, they do it on amazon a lot.  its pretty sleezy

Wow that is pretty sleazy! They've crafted the ad so that they don't actually call it an "encore" release, which is what Toynami officially calls its re-releases. And they say that "each figure [is] still sealed in its individual window box", which just means the figure hasn't moved, but that's not the same as saying the package is still sealed, which it isn't if they've taken out the Robot Devil parts.

I don't have a problem with someone taking out the Robot Devil bits and selling an incomplete figure package, but they ought to clearly say that's what it is, rather than trying to give the impression that it's something else. Basically, anyone buying these, should only be paying "loose" figure prices.

even worse is on amazon sometimes you'll find a fry or other RBD series figure which says in the description it has the parts with it for a very low price, and think "this is too good to be true" and the only way to realize they're scamming you is to send them an email with the exact product number and ask them, or sometimes you can read the reviews from sad saps who have actually purchased the product only to discover the parts had been taken out.

The weird thing is that i've hardly ever seen a robot devil completed BAF on sale so I wonder what these scammers are really doing with the pieces.

This is one of those thing, were if you did not get in the game early on, its pretty rough. I think i started collecting by the time series 5 came out. Back then, I ended spending $200.00 on Fry and Zoidberg. The rest were at there normal prices. I have not even check on the original series 2 and 3 prices. I am sure they have went up by now.

Well, they do make base stands for action figures, I know that much. Farnsy has the required foot hole for one. I was going to get stands at one point myself, but wasn't certain about them. Mine has recently developed the ability to stand on his own after leaning against Hermes and Zoidberg for several months.

On the series 9 watch, EE now says November.

You could also use the hot water trick.

Get the hot water running. Heat up Farnsy's legs and feet and bend them so he'll be able to stand on his own. Then cool him down in cold water to make it permanent.

I did this with my Farnsworth and Captain Yesterday figures. Both of which kept falling over. It's an easy fix and it works pretty well.

Thanks, I've done stuff like this in the (far) past, completely forgot about that possibility. If I don't come across any workable stands soon then I'll do that.

Then I need to find an affordable S1 Zoidberg so I don't have to use the bendable Zoidberg as a stand in.

Woo-hoo!  :O_o:

Damn, this is turning into the longest wait between figures so far.

Looking at the release dates over at the Infosphere, we've had waits of five and six months before, but this one's turning into nine months.

Ugh, oh well, at least it beats the alternative of the line dying, which I suspect was a very real possibility, hence the long delay in getting the next waves going.

Oh baby, don't stop...
