Well spotted Quolnok! So it seems we now know who is in series 10 but the BAF? Maybe there will not be one this time round.

This would make sense with the size of Morbo and Lrrr but with no BAF pieces what would fill the boxes of Obsolete Bender and Url?

I'll be surprised if there's no build-a-figure as Toynami's done one for each wave and it seems like a good sweetener to sell more figures. Maybe Morbo's shifting to being a regular series with a build-a-figure (bot?) still to be announced. But if this was the case and Series 9 is really coming out in September, then you'd expect to see the build-a-figure now at SDCC. Of course, there's always the possibility that Series 9 doesn't come out in September, as Toynami's dates are notorious for being pushed back. I really don't know what to conclude except that I'm pumped about all these figures and plan to scoop them all up whenever they come out!

Here's a good picture from Slurmed that gives a better sense of the relative size of the new figures. Morbo really is big and Lrrr huuuge. Even URL is pretty big compared to Obsolete Bender beside him.

As for the Talking Bender, he looks to be about 50% bigger than the regular line of Bender figures, so he's definitely a standalone product and not part of the figure line.

This has been a test of the Emergency Hypnotoad System. Had this been an actual hypnosis, you would go limp and buy whatever crap comes up next. Coming up next: Plushies!

FYE video had a number of the figures, some of which were marked down to $5 each. Unfortunately those figures were Nudar, Kif with a cowboy hat, Amy and Clobberella. So basically the figures nobody wants (no offense). Other figures were around $15 each.

They should make a plush Hypnotoad with something like a light up eye feature and that heavy hypnosis sound if you squize him. That'd be something fans would really want to get.

You reading this Toynami? Get on it! :D

Finally, buisness is about to pick up, Lrrr looks ace!  :D Just a thought, but with the size of him I wouldnt be surprised if he was made the Build A Figure. On a side note, the Plushies - JUST AWFUL!!!! :nono:

According to someone posting over at The Simpsons Community, a Toynami rep told them that the company's dropping the build-a-figure concept. If so, it's a damn shame, as it was nice getting a bonus figure for every six and then four bought. Oh well.

No exclusive for the first time since Toynami got the Futurama licence and no BAF with the new wave.
So what is next?
They will make a substantional loss on the plushies, no worthy fan is going to buy them.
Morbo looks outstanding and as for Lrrr? He will win awards! Best figure i have seen in years.
We are seeing the best and worst Toynami has to offer at the same time and hopefully they will realise they should be investing in waves 11 + 12 insted of the kind of crap you find in the market.

Don't forget URL and Obsolete Bender, which are both pretty sweet too I'd say.

I think all four should be very strong sellers. Just hope that if the plushies bomb horribly that it doesn't sour Toynami on the Futurama licence. Keep the figures coming!

From what I can make out on the little cards in front of the figures at SDCC 2010, I think it says "Winter 2010" for Series 10 of Lrrr and Morbo. If Series 9 really comes out in September, then there's a chance we might see Series 10 by the end of the year. But somehow I wouldn't be surprised if Series 9 comes only sometime in the fall and Series 10 early next year. Who can say really though, as Toynami's unpredictable. The best (though least satisfying) answer is always we'll have them when we have them.

They had a Fry figure for sale?!

And I got a stupid Zoidberg?!!!

I'm gonna go sulk now...
Dude i hate you if your sulking over not having a fry when a one of a kind zoidberg is sitting in your lab. What i would like to know is, is it the blue zoid or the original?

I would rather they delay a bit on putting the figures out and settle on a sweet BAF then get them out hurriedly and with no BAF.

What if instead of a BAF we got four small characters as accessories?
Url - Al Gore's Head / Leg Mutant
Wooden Bender - Cymbal Banging Monkey / Leg Mutant
Lrrr - Jrrr
Morbo - Hypnotoad

I wouldn't like the monkey all that much, but I was mostly going for small characters that go well with the main one, which is also why Leg Mutant is unlikely in these series. Another option for one character is a selection of 3-4 separate owls.

I like Quolnok's idea of having small scale characters as pack-ins. Guys like Tinny Tim and Hypnotoad would be cool additions to the collection but are probably too small - both in size and in popularity - to be released as individual figures. Including them as extras with figures that make sense would be a very cool way to get a nice sort of bonus figure!

More heads in jars would be awesome but Toynami would probably need the rights from Pam or Snoop before they'd make them into bodyless head-in-jar action figures. :p

I think URL should get a head-in-a-jar to go along with him because he was in the first episode where they end up beating up Fry in the heads museum. Leonard Nimoy perhaps? :flirt:

yeah i think nimoy and snoop would be totally cool with the rights since they've both appeared multiple times.

I do think that Hypnotoad is popular enough to make a stand alone character though.  Definitely more popular than Nudar.

If a Hypnotoad figure ever gets made I'm definately getting it. They've even made T-shirts with the Hynotoad so it's definately popular enough...

Also unlikely, but if they ever made the porno creep monster I'd get it...

Well maybe Hypnotoad could be his own figure but then he'd most likely be sort of lame. I mean what articulation or accessoires could he come with? I can't think of anything good.

Is the porno creep monster the lizzard guy from the human horn episode?

Yeah, you're probably right. Hypnotoad would be skyrocketing in sales! No one would be able to withstand the power of the glorious Hypnotoad! :p

Elzar would be a good choice for sure. He needs to come with the Neptunian slug though so he can cook it with chef Bender. :)

Hypnotoad could come with a TV with a picture of the Hynotoad on it. Or it could come with a small DVD case with "Hypnotoad Season 3" written on it...

And yeah, that's the porno creep I meant...

Hypnotoad rocks, but isn't he too small to come as his own figure?

If nothing else, how about having him come with the first prize podium and a figure of the bearded judge who says "All glory to the hypnotoad!". It'd be like Zapp with Nixon and his podium.

I'm not sure which one annoys me more: Bender or Zoidberg. At least they got Nibbler right. Honestly if they'd have made Zoidy's face cuter and not so... moon-pie shaped then he'd have been adorable. But NOOOO they just HAD to **** up his face. And Bender reminds me of his little kid robot self only not as adorable and cuddly and slightly constipated looking.

Looking over my Toynami figures, we haven't done too badly on the robot side of things, with four in the bag already - Devil, Santa, Calculon and Roberto (not counting all the Benders) - and another one on the way with URL. Still no shortage of great bots we could have and hope Toynami gets around to many more, but nevertheless not too bad so far.

However, when you think Futurama, besides bots, the other thing that comes to mind right away is aliens. Yet, on this score, we haven't done well at all. Excluding the Zoidbergs (and Leelas I suppose), so far we only have one alien - Nudar. Fortunately, Toynami's starting to make amends on this score in a big way, with Morbo and Lrrr in the works. But that will only bring us up to three.

Surely with Futurama there are all kinds of cool aliens begging to be made figures. So who tops the list? Elzar gets mentioned often, and he's cool enough and would raise the shelf appeal of the Chef Bender we already have. Another that comes to my mind is the Horrible Gelatinous Blob. I figured he'd be a longshot due to his size, but if Toynami can make a hefty-looking Lrrr, then probably H. G. Blob too.

What aliens would you guys like to see made?

The aliens i'd like to see most:

Hypnotoad, Elzar, Slurms McKensie, Hyperchicken Lawyer

Others that would be cool:

Bubble Gum Tate (or any other globetrotter), the native martian chief, the swamp lady from kif's planet, one of the liquid guys that fry drinks, one of the Amazonian Women

Nice list. Here are some photos from Infosphere I dug up to refresh my memory...

For me, H.G. Blob, Hypnotoad and Slurms are must-have's, with Elzar being right up there too since the Chef Bender we already have cries out on the shelf for a figure to go with him (it's like having Kip but no Zapp).

As for the others, Hyperchicken's probably the most frequently seen character and I'd buy him, but yet he's always struck me as a bit ridiculous (which is the idea I know). I think though I'd be partial to a more cooler looking alien in my opinion, like Bont the Viscous or even the Martian Chief. I like the Grand Midwife from Kif's planet, but since we already have Kif, I'd prefer a different looking alien. A Globetrotter and an Amazonian would look nice side by side on the shelf, but I'd like some of the others first.

Anyone else have any suggestions for cool aliens?

Anyone know where to find a Zoidberg (just regular one, not the variant or anything) at a reasonable price? Why is that one so hard to find? I wanted to get one a couple years ago but it was ridiculous amount. I found all the other ones...
