The company plans several assortments of Futurama action figures for release throughout 2007.

I'm looking forward to seeing who they make. I hope they make proper 6" figures and not those silly block-figures they brought out a couple of years ago! (prays for life-sized Amy too)

Walking through Spencer's Gift yeaterday, I saw a shitload of 'Family Guy' and 'Simpsons' crap, but no Futurama stuff.  Maybe after the DVD's come out and the new eps start airing we willget some decent and interesting stuff.

This is great news! Now if only I can wait that long... I, like Ralphie Snartykins, have seen shitloads of Family Guy and Simpson stuff in malls and stores, but not a hint of Futurama anywhere. I stopped in this one shop that was full of action figures that were vintage (ok, so it was Star Wars figures from the 1970s and 80s...) and all these Japanese anime and manga figures, posters and some fabric banners (oop, no pictures allowed to be taken, sorry. That was really the case. It said no pictures could be taken... like anyone can stop me  ;)), Godzilla, you name it, it was there. But not a trace of Futurama, not even comics. They had every action figure in the universe, even Pokemon, but no Futurama.  :nono: That's a crime...

OK everyone here is the good news you have been waiting for.  Toynami had their exclusive Bender on sale (finally) as well as the line up for their proposed line of Futurama figures.
They are as follows:
Assortment 1:
Fry and Zoidberg (you heard right, Zoidberg!!)
Assortment 2:
Leela and Zapp
Assortment 3:
Bender and Kif

As some may have noticed the gold Bender basically looked like the MAC figure and considering he comes with a stack of money I really think it is the MAC figure which leads me to wonder if the Fry and Leela figures will be the same as the MAC ones.  Somehow they must have gotten or worked out the licensing with them to re-release them.

Is this good news or bad news?  I think it can be good news as it opens the development door for Toynami to give us figures like Zoidy, Zapp and Kif.  The lineup they have listed is pretty strong in my opinion and I am really thinking they are going to be releasing these two to a pack instead of carded individually.  If this is the case I really think this is a smart move because they have paired popular characters with not so popular ones or ones that probably would not sell very well.  Zapp and Leela is an excellent example of this.
With this type of assortment it makes me believe that these will sell really well which will open the door for future releases.  Even though they did not persue additional I-Men figures I really think they were very popular and sold really well.  Bender and Robot Devil is probably the most sought after piece of Futurama merchandise out there and you can believe the Bender/ Kif two pack would be twice as popular.

Happy days are just around the corner.  :)

That's a really good strategy. I'm gonna so gonna get a Zapp figure so he can make out with the other ones I buy and Bender can take pictures of it.   :laff:

Is "assortment" just another word for "wave" or "release" or are these figures going to be double packed?

When the show comes back in 2008, there's probably going to be a lot of Futurama action figures and mechindise you can find at the mall.  A lot of you are right, it's like in the mall in stores like Spencers and Hot Topic you only find Simpsons and Family Guy mechindise and very few American Dad products and no Futurama.  Expect maybe the comics.

Once the show comes back, there's going to be action figures, t-shirts, posters, and more products you can shake a stick that!

Kurt, the mall I went to only had Futurama comics in the comicbook store that closed for a dumbass Lane Bryant.  But, since there'll be a shitload of goodies in 2008 (WHY CAN'T IT BE SOONER!?!?!), or so you say, I suppose I can wait...

Comic Con exclusive Bender was a sell out at the show.  Not sure if Toynami will be selling them online or any other outlet but chances are they will not.  I think some went to dealers but I think most went to fans.  There have been a few listed on eBay already for highly inflated prices but we shall see how long that goes on for.

I'm guessing Bender cost anywhere from 10 dollars to thirty. I've never been to a ComicCon of any sort (.) so I wouldn't exactly know...

Bender cost 15.00.
The Bongo Comics panel was good as always.  Plenty of stories lined up for Futurama Comics by Ian Boothby and Len Wein.  It was discussed that for the first time in awhile they actually have a good backlog of stories for Futurama so that is good news.  No change in status, however, on its quarterly status but there is hope.

Third time's the charm.

finally, after 2 weeks of waiting, I have it.

Now for the review:

Face:
The face has nice detail on it, especially the 'angry' lines on the eyes. It also has a bendy antenna.

Chest:
The chest has an opening door, but, strangely enough, the pile of money you get with it doesn't fit inside.     :hmpf:

Arms & legs:
both are bendy, but the arms move around in a circle too.

All in all:
Awesome.
Awesome to the Max.
(I also like how 'matt groening' is written on his glorious golden ass.)

Pictures:
(they do it ALOT (x10000) of injustice, so does my flash...)

the picture's are crap, but I wanted to show you guy's so I wasn't coined a lyer.

EDIT: eew... My computer desk looks ugly.
