I was just thinking: someone should make a Planet Express T-shirt. It would be designed like a standard UPS delivery-person's shirt, but light blue/offwhite instead of brown, and the logo would the the PE logo. On the back it would have the slogan "Our crew is replaceable, Your package isn't!"

thoughts/comments?

It sounds pretty good. I've been wanting to create my own 'Futurama' T-shirt, but I don't want to give my money to a website that will print it out for me, then get it a few days later, and find out it's either crap, or something went wrong.
Plus, the people are too scared to print it, unless I give them written permission from FOX that says they (FOX) are giving them permission to print that shirt.
As for the shirt, it sounds pretty cool. But I'd try and put Fry, Leela, and Bender's picture somewhere on there. Preferably above that slogan you mentioned.
Also, if anyone actually made that shirt, I'd buy it. (After someone else bought it, and said it was good.)

I like the idea!  I agree with Eyedol, that you should put Fry, Bender, and Leela on the shirt, too!

Neat idea Zeep!

@Eyedol: Just get those iron on printer papers and print your own picture, Once that's done, just iron it on.

Fry, Leela, and Bender should not be on the T-shirt. It is supposed to look like a shirt for a real company. Why would a real company put thier delivery boy on a T-shirt?

I just had a though.  Wouldn't it be cool to have a greeny/teal t-shirt and then have the PE logo embroidered on the rightbreast?  Then on the back possbily have the "Our crew is replaceable, Your package isn't"  I'd pay to have something like the logo embroidered beause (generally speaking of course) those turn out better than just a plain iron-on transfer. (I've neer really like them much anyway)

And on tje topic of copyright infringement, I though you can bascially do whatever you want for your own personal use, as long as you don't try and sell it?

Yeah, but these people told me I had to have written permission from FOX, otherwise they wouldn't print it for me.

Zeep's idea was best... but I like the green color shirt idea with a big picture of Fry somewhere.... somehow that's what I've always thought of.

Hmm...  When I took a shirt in years ago to have a pic of the Red Dwarf crew put on it, the shop didn't seem to care much.  Although maybe it was because they hadn't a sniff what Red Dwarf was!  :laff:

i was thinking of using those heat transfers. and the light green/teal (a lighter PE ship color) seems like a good idea, except then you'd have to get a shirt that color, since you can't iron on the entire shirt.

and like wooter said, it's supposed to look like a company shirt.

and if anything, i'd put leela or bender, since they are the most recognizable among ignorant people people that don't want the show.

I don't like the idea of having characters of the show on the shirt. I think a plain shirt with the logo on it would be perfect.

Ditto on plain.  A solo PE logo brings more geek appeal.  :)

For those who want it with the characters, go find the black long sleeve that Fox release in '99 with the PE logo front/center and Fry, Leela, Bender, Farnsworth, Zoidberg, and Nibbler down the right sleeve.  Just prepare to spend some dough ... the last one I saw on eBay went for like $30, used.

-- Kane ... who has extras, but no, they're not for sale.

I don't know about you,but whenever I mention Futurama to someone who doesn't watch the show, I always get the response, "Oh, that one show with the robot?" or, "That one show with the cyclops?" Not, "That one show with the delivery boy?"

^Yeah, I guess you're right.

As for the shirt Narfcake mentioned.

Is there any other place besides ebay where I could get that? If not, how the hell do I get it from ebay? (I have no idea how that site works. Do I just click some sumbit price button, and enter a price, and whoever bids the highest price gets it? If so, is it OK if I just bid from $0.01 to $1.00 higher than the previous bid?)

One more thing. How do I find that shirt? (What should I type in the search thing on ebay?)

Bids are incremented by set amounts, and minimums will be posted at the bottom of the page.  Run a search for "futurama shirt".  99.95% of the time, what you'll end up seeing the results are knockoffs.  Do not assume anything.  You will have to be registered to bid.  I'm sure there are some primers on bidding, your responsibilities, followups if you won, etc.  I've been buying for like 7 years already, so it's like second nature to me.

Refer here to see the commercially licensed shirts ...
 http://collectorama.murderhorn.com/clothing.shtml

... which pretty much consist of the remaining 0.05%.  Of course when one does show up, I'm sure one of us here has already started fighting over it, so don't expect a bargain.  There is also the insignificant 0.0001% of a 1999 insider shirt showing up; expect $30+ for a used one too, with one a couple years ago having topped $80.

The only other way is to get one is if you find a collector willing to part with one.  Quite unlikely, however ...

-- Kane ... who can't be enticed to part with any, unless you happen to have an Eaton M45 or M62 with an electric clutch to trade.

I doubt I'd personally wear a t-shirt with the characters on, I'd much rather wear one like Zeep described. It strikes me as if I'm stuffing it down everyone's throat if I'm wearing a flashy one with Fry's huge face, "See, I'm a Futurama fan!" I'd prefer a more subtle one, like with just the PE logo or a not-so-obvious quote--not the typical ones like Bender's phrase. I'd believe a person wearing that kind of subtle humour on a shirt, to be a bigger fan instead of having the characters. But of course that doesn't have to be. Just sharing my opinion here, carry on!  :p

here are some designs i threw together pretty quickly:

Front:

Back:

Yes, I realize the text and image on the back are off-center. This won't be a problem if I/you actually print out heat transfers, since I'll/you'll be responsible for centering it manually.

Though, now that I think about it, on the back, maybe I should have a picture of the PE ship, rather than the logo again. Or maybe both? What does everyone else think?

Those look pretty cool!  I'm thinking of making a custom-made PDA case with an iron-on transfer of Bender on it.  It's amazing what you can do now-a-days with a printer and a bit of imagination!  :laff:

Now I can see both pictures of the back. Thanks Zeep. Ya know, you're a lot nicer outside the west coast peelvention thread  :p I think the whole thing looks great. I'd buy/print it or whatever.

Looking good.  It's also simple enough in colors that even having it screen printed wouldn't be too expensive.

IMHO, just stick to this PE logo on the back.  PE ships have come and gone, so.

If desired for a little variation, though, perhaps incorporate the slogan that was on the aforementioned shirt for the front?

Here's a slightly modified idea, with the pictures as they would be printed out:

This is the image that goes in the corner on the front:

This image goes on the back, centered, near the top:

This image goes under the above image on the back:

any thoughts?
