I didn't really know who I should go to with this problem, so I thought one of you might be able to help me. I bought the Season 4 DVD box set back when it came out in August, but have not watched them until yesterday. On disk 3, the episode "Obsoletely Fabulous" will not play. It cuts out during the theme song. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Have you retried playing the episode a coupla times?  Can you access chapters after the first one? Have you tried another player or a DVD-ROM?

I had a problem like that with the first Volume 3 set I bought. I just took it back with the receipt and exchanged it for a different one, which played fine.

Take the disc out, put a tiny amount of water on it, and then use a lint-free cloth (lens paper works best) to wipe the water off. Use strokes from the center outwards.

I might sound like one of those cheesy tech-support guys, but that method has never failed me. And believe me, I have a lot of scratched/dirty discs.

On my DVD when I play 'Obsolutely Fabolous', when it gets up to  the end of Act 1 it skips right to Act 3!! Maybe there's sort of the same problem? Other than that, it works fine.

Mine is just fine. (And on an unrelated matter, why did it take you so long to watch it?)

Anyway, do what hobojobo said. It's a very effective method. Then put it into a DVD player, and try all the chapters on all the episodes. ("Obsolutely Fabolous" being last.) If skipping doesn't work, go back to the beginning, when the funnel comes from the bottom and we see 'Futurama' beginning to form. Try to fast-forward at the lowest speed.

If none of those suggestions work, then take it to the store where you originally bought it. (Hopefully you still have the reciept.) Just bring in the whole set (they probably won't just do one disc), and the reciept. Tell them it's defective, and exchange it.
But if it was the first time you played it since August, then the return policy period probably expired already, and you'd be screwed. (Unless the store you got it from is nice, or has a long return policy period.)
I got mine from Wal-Mart, and there's a 90 day period. (Same as Target.)

I didn't. But I did have a problem on Simpson's Season 2. I don't remember the episode too well, but it was one with them going to a waterpark or something. (Yeah, kinda off topic)

I have never had a problem with the DVDs I bought here, but I had with the ones I bought from Asia.

I don't have any futurama DVDs, preferred to subscribe digital channels it's cheaper and it comes with many other problems.

Sorry mint, I'm with zapper-d on this one.
Look, I may be a snot-nosed newbie here, but mint, you're just not making much sense: you won't buy dvds locally, because you prefer digital channels with lots of problems -- but you will buy asian dvds that don't work?
I'm no Dr. Phil, but I think you have some masochistic issues -- not that that's bad, just my $0.02.

I'm glad none of my DVDs are screwy, I got all 4 seasons and they're too precious to find broken.
