That's a shame, I'd love to see the futurama old-skool comic cover art actually used on the comics   :(.

There's plenty out there to use, 10 left from the 2003 calendar and loads of comic style giclees.

:T :o:T :p :D:!

Has anyone ever noticed that the monthly UK comics only have half a story?

Monthly comics, it's still one story ever 2 months...What a rip-off!

The question you should be asking is if anyone hasn’t noticed? You'd have to be an idiot not to notice, and you're right it's a rip-off! I've boycotted them and I suggest more people do the same. US all the way!...

Hey Otis & Dan

I don't know if I'd call it a rip off as it is the way comics are generally presented in the UK. Judge Dredd, 2000AD, Rogue Soldier ect. have always been presented as two & three parters. Also it does allow for monthly publishing of a comic we generally get about every three months. If it's not the same price (which I hope it isn't) then I just think it's a different way of presentation to a different audience.

Yeah I know but before (Issue every 2 months) you got about a 25-30 page story, now (Monthly issues) you get a 10 to -20 page story and it doesn't begin/end in the same issue.

It is just like they cut they cut the original comic straight in half. Whoa, it is 10p cheaper, but now we end up paying £3.80 instead of £2.

If a comic is going to be a two parter it should be double the length...

New issue cover;

Next issue is obviously Time Bender Trilogy Part One. In the description it calls it a 'trilogy' and a 'multi-part story'. Some images from it include; Bender pointing in the air, Lrrr holding a picture of Earth and Fry looking scared. Can anyone confirm where these images pop up in Part One?

I've just bought a load of Futurama comics online from eBay and  really liked them. I was wondering if some kind person  could point me in the direction of the site where I can subscribe to the comics? I live in the UK but seeing as the comics I order were US version I think it would be best to continue buying the US comics, apparently the UK ones have a different numbering system, something to do with the crossover comics being included in the overall number of issues where as the US count them as a seperate "sub-series", at least that's what I've been told, and by the sound of what's been said here the US ones are better anyway. I think I'm starting to ramble on a bit (to much coffee) so I'll just shut up an hopefully someone can answer my question.

Ooh, #24 comes out tomorow. I'll need to get that otherwise my 'Complete Futurama Comic' collection will be wrecked...

#24 is the first half of US #17 (seen above...)

Edit: Oh cool, it came out a day early, and I have it now...
HAHAHAHA   :evillaugh: My collection remains competed!!!

No, I meant the pic I posted (which now doesn't work). As already said (in a way), Time Bender Trilogy is in 6 parts.

Next cover is October 2001's calendar art without the writing:

That is the same image as TBTT 2of6. Why must there 6 parts?

Because now the comics are monthly, you only get half a comic. So, instead of having 3 parts, you get 3x2 = 6. and that is why there must be six parts.

It's gonna take six months anyway, either:
  • one part a month (6 parts)
  • one part every 2 months (3 parts)

*bump*

The Trilogy finished today, and the next issue is "Bender Breaks Out". From this issue (#30 if you're interested), the price will be £2.10, and will be "bigger and betterer". It's out March something, which is still four weeks, but perhaps they'll change it to two months again?

That trilogy sucked. The next one looks good though, and it had better be bigger, because I'm sick of these new >10 paged comics. I'd rather wait 2 months for an issue than get whats coming out now.

I prefer The Simpsons comics, as they have more coming out and quicker. Futurama comics come out every two weeks, The Simpsons comics have one out every week, one out every season, and The Best Of The Simpsons come out too, I don't know when though.

Okay, Issue #30 arrived today.  It includes the entire "Bender Breaks Out" story, instead of just the first half.  I don't get it.  How are Titan going to manage to continue monthly releases if each issue has a full strip?  Or is this just a one-off and we'll get about ten pages of letters next month?

That's what I wondered - but I suppose they had to put all the BBO story in one issue, due to the whole folding pages 11-24 thing.

Well, we got our answer.  Titan return to the two-part format, and fill out the extra space with even more ads and letters.

These guys are sadistic geniuses.  We could learn a lot from them.

Oh for fuck's sake! You don't know how much this has pissed me off! When #30 came out I thought "hooray! they are making full issues again", and it said 'bigger and better Futurama comics continues'. I was like  :D Then yesterday I got #31, it felt pretty thick, and I was sure it had the full story. Then I opened it to find 2 huge ads, and the contents spread over 2 pages. I flicked through, found an ad right in the middle (wtf) and the crappy piece of turd comic had 'to be contined' at the end!!!    I contined to find even more shitty ads, tonnes of letters, and general wasted space.

I think I'd prefer the 2 month format again. At least then we'll get a whole comic with less crap, plus it would be much cheaper, and we'd still end up with the same ammount of comic pages. Because of Titan and it's gaylord workers, I'm going to sell my whole collection on eBay, thats every issue. I'm not wasting my money on this shit anymore. Lucky US people, they don't have to put up with this.

I'm getting pissed off too, and I'm seriously thinking of not resubscribing.  But it isn't the ripoff element that annoys me, but rather the crappy artwork.

In issue 33, go to page 24, bottom left frame, and look at Leela's head.  Ba-wuh?  Cliches be damned, I COULD do a better job than that!

I am so pissed off right now. I am spending £2.10 on a comics that is worth half that price! the only good things I can think of is:
1)we get half a story early
2)there is more room for fan's letters
and the bad things
1)getting half a story will make us more impatient for it
2)they only post boring letters anyway from people who go on about how they like futurama
3)we're getting ripped off!
4)the numbers will be different from the US ones
5)they are lying to us
by the way can anyone tell me where to find US comics from the UK in UK money because i do not want to waste my money on this crap but I dont want to stop getting new media from futurama until 2008

People; I stopped buying the UK Comics about the time I made the above posts in this thread. Why carry on? I just buy the US ones from the internet. I have every single US Futurama Comic. It's annoyingly expensive with postage costs, however when you think about having to buy two parts of a Comic here to get one US Comic it isn't actually that much more expensive...
