Whoa, that sounds like a veeery long time for one parcel.  I THINK it shouldn't take longer than two weeks or maybe three. I hope you'll find enough time and it'll go a lot faster now you know how to do it, the Zoidberg plushie looks SOOO great, it's really an amazing piece of work.  :)

I just checked with the Post Office today and they recommend that parcels going by Surface needs to be out in the mail for Oct 29th to get to Europe in time for X-Mas.  If it's going by Air, it would have to be out Dec 6th.  I haven't checked the price difference between the two yet.  To save on shipping costs, I'll stuff him into the smallest box possible.  I mean he's only a plushie so it shouldn't be to difficult!   :D

I'd be willing to pay for the air shipping.  :) And would it be very difficult to make the plushie a tad smaller? Or can't you scale it down, using the pattern you have now?

It'd be a bit of a pain in the a-word to resize him.  I can modify the length of his arms and legs no problem but I'd have to keep the size of his claws, head etc... in proportion and as far as I know, I'd have to start from scratch making a new pattern.  I could kinda base it on what I already have, but in essence, it's be a new pattern altogether, unfortunately. MrBurns, did you want to fire me off an email with your postal/zip code and I can give you an estimate on S&H tomorrow when I'm at the post office?

Oh, no resizing then, 2 feet of Zoidberg are just ace.   :D I was just wondering about the size as I'll be taking it with me on a plane... or you could send it to where I'm flying maybe, that would be ok, too.   :)
I'll send you an e-mail as soon as you tell me your e-mail address, it's not in your profile.   :)

Argh, my browser is being weird. I'm sending you an e-mail now.  :)

OK, Here's a sample of Zoidy's attire:

I've got the labcoat and his pants finished more or less, just need to work on the shirt now and hem the labcoat, add the buttons etc... (remind me again why I decided to sew the clothes.  I HATE doing sleeves!    )I'm just kidding! (I still hate sleeves though)  Here's a picture of what I've got finished of Nibbler.

(These pics are bad quality cause of my digital camera and the low lighting.  I'll try it tomorrow and see if I can't get some better shots of the two of them)

EDIT: Well I know what to ask Santa for this X-mas and it's not a bicycle gun!   :D

I just had a headache with pictures!  :)  I can use the same pattern but just use a smaller sized crochet hook.  Not 100% sure what size he's turn out to be in the end but it wouldn't b a huge different, mabe a few inches or so.  Did you want me to try and give that a go or did you want him the 2 feet high?

I live in a rinky-dink little town call Moose Jaw in Saskatchwean.  :D  (If anyone knows where Regina SK is, I live about 45 minutes away from there)  S&H probably won't be that much.  I just priced Zoidy out to ship to Germany and the rates started at like $10 CAD. Nibbler's being a bit stubborn for me though.  I have to try and figure out how to shape the upper and lower lip.  I'm pretty sure I have to do them up in separate pieces to get the overbite.  I worked on a few theories on how to crochet it but none so far has panned out.  No big though, I just need to spend some more time with him. BTW, anyone have any idea/suggestions for 'accessories'? I mean Bender's got his beer and cigar, maybe Zoidy could have some miracle cream or something, Fry could have a can of Slurm and maybe Leela could have a ray gun of sorts.  Not sure what to have for Nibbler though.  I mean I'm already going to make his diaper and cape out of felt.  Would anyone want some 'dark matter' (ie poop) to go with it?  :D

Unfortunately no.  I've still been working on Zoidy and trying to get the patterns for his clothe done as I've got someone looking to buy a Zoidy off of me.  I've been having a heck of a time getting Zoidy's shirt finished.  I've basically taken a doll pattern and have to upsize it to fit Zoidy.  With the labcoat, I actually had to scale it down cause it the pattern was made for a toddler.  I just with I could sew as easily as I can crochet!    :hmpf:

I did however mostly finish off Zoidy's labcoat.  I added the button and button holes so now all that's left is to hem the sleeves a bit.  Here's a close-up of his labcoat:

As soon as I've gotten more done on the other plushies, I'll be sure to upload some pics!     :)

EDIT: Huzzah!  I'm now a Bending Unit!

Fry: that's the best thing i've ever seen
pretty cool but if you look at zoidberg's coat the button line is not down the middle it runs down a slope at the side.
it's coming on great

That's actually pretty good. Got any other characters, ofcourse any other than Nibbler and Zoidy, that you have in mind to turn "plush"?

I've got Zoidy, Bender and Nibbler on the go right now, but I was also thinking of making Fry and Leela into plushies too.  I'm sure I could do up a Professor, Amy and Hermes if people wanted it.  Actually a thought comes to mind.  Depending how I can do the Leela doll, I may be able to use the same pattern for Amy, but just change the head if I'm able to make the doll and clothes seperately, like Zoidy.  Unfortunately I haven't had much time to work on them lately, cause I've been crocheting a bunch of non-Futurama plushies (Care Bears and Minnie Mouse) for X-Mas gifts.   Once I get those done, I can get back into finishing off the rest of the crew.

I've been working on non-Futurama plushies for X-mas so I haven't really had time to work on Nibbler or Bender.  I've only got a 3 more Care Bears to crochet and then I'm home free!  I've got an almost finished Zoidberg for MrBurns here on PEEL.  All I need to do is sew a pocket on the labcoat and hem the sleeves for the labcoat.  If anyone's interested here's an updated pic of our favorite lobster doctor:

(Incidently, if any wants to see pictures of the Care Bears, they can check out my website:   http://jenutech.com  )

Oh my god, look at his little sandals! He's so adorable! I might end up buying a Zoidberg from you too for my little sister's birthday(although don't mark my words yet). She's 5 and thinks Zoidberg is hilarious. Your Care Bears look really good too. You should be really proud, you're very talented.

I'm running a bit ahead of schedule for my X-Mas Plushie making.  3 more Care Bears to go and then I can start working more on Futurama plushies.

Unfortunately I need to prioratise my time.  That and not many people I know would want a Bender/Zoidy/Nibbler plushie.  (I can't think why)  ;) The Care Bears themselves only really take a good solid weekend to finish up.  Depending how things go I may just work on Bender in between doing them because the Care Bears don't have to get mailed out or anything so technically I just need to have them finished for Dec 25th!  :D

I'll be sure to let you guys know when Bender's finished.  (That goes for Nibbler too)  Bender won't be too hard to finish, I've basically got the pattern made (well most of it anyway)  it's just the time consumption of making the body.  Not difficult, just time consuming.  I'll post pictures when I get more of him finished.  Hopefully soon I'll be able to really spend some quality time with him and Nibbler to get them both finished up.

OK I said I'd let you guys know when Nibbler and Bender are finished.  Neither one is finished but I have made some progress on Nibbler.  I managed to finished of both legs, made his diaper and cape.  He still looks rather odd, especially since he really doesn't have a face yet.  His muzzle really seems to be giving me trouble.  Other than that, the arms and eyes are really all that's left and they shouldn't really take too long at all.  Here's an updated pic:

And again, the picture is a bit grainy due to my cheapo camera! (I really shouldn't complain, at least I actually have one.)     :)

BTW, We never really settled the debate on how many fingers Nibblers has.  I checked out the thread again ( http://www.peelified.com/cgi-bin/Futurama/3-000787/ ) and it doesn't seem like anyone can figure it out.  So how many fingers do you guys want him to have?  I think he'd look better with 2 fingers and a thumb as opposed to 3 fingers and a thumb.  But that's just my opinion! :D
