And this is to PCC Fred:
When do we get another installment? Poor Leela being deaf and being stood up for her date has me wondering how our favorite Cyclops is dealing with her life's problems.

@ Fred:
Understandable. The writing thing is hard - great to start with a great premise then find out you've either gone out-of-character or painted yourself in a corner.
Still, what you're made public so far is great - I'd just like to see where the Leela arc is going - our favorite cyclops is not one for being helpless so paininting her as being depressed is very in character, and Fry not mking it for their date is sure to make her feel worse.
Good luck - hope the writers block breaks down soon...

Hey, everybody. Just wanted to say "hi" and "it's nice to be back" and yes, my computer problems seem to be solved...I'm typing this on my new (used) laptop, which is old but not nearly as old as the last one I was using, which belonged to one of my roommates anyway...but this is one mine-all-mine, and I'm totally jazzed about it. I've named it "Fry" and put Futurama wallpaper up on it and am just being silly over it in general. So anyway...as "the update question" has been broached several times, I thought I'd just put the info here rather than egregiously bumping my fic thread just to say "no updates yet." The long and short of it is, I have some good news, some bad news, and some more good news. Good news: I was working on my story some while I was incommunicado. Bad news: mostly I ended up writing stuff that happens much later in the story; so even though I wasn't lazy, the fruits of that particular labor won't be appearing soon. Mea culpa. The more good news is that writing that later-on stuff has clarified the middle portions more in my mind (which was why I did it, 'cause I was having a case of the "Act II blues" and had to break through it); and so, yes, I'm nearly ready to pick up where I left off. (crosses fingers) In other words while an update isn't immanent, it is on the foreseeable horizon. And I also wanted to say thank you, everyone who asked...sometimes I do grumble about being pounced for updates whenever I raise my head, but it's only because I wish I could spend all my time writing and show up with gifts whenever I come by - I hate not being able to please everybody all the time, darn it! But still, it does gratify my writer's ego that people like my stuff enough to want more, even if sometimes I act like an ungrateful grouch. So I just wanted to say "Thanks!" to you all, for being such a great bunch of people and such a pleasure to write for. Aaaaaaand....that's the news from Shinyshire, thanks for tuning in.

That's completely out of line.
Anyway, welcome back to PEEL, Ms. Shiny.
I shall not bother you by asking about your story, but I will say that I'm glad that your computer woes are resolved so that you can join in the fun of comparing and contrasting the characters of a cancelled cartoon show.
Welcome back!

Good news, everyone! (Silence) Aww... Anyway, I'm posting up right now before anyone can protest a spoiler for movie 2 of my 'Evil Parallel Universe' Trilogy. And don't worry, it's not like one of those Douglas Adams trilogies, where there's actually five volumes... Due to breaking United Universe Law by traveling to Universe A (an act believed to destabilize spacetime), Universe #522912 is forced to spend one standard yead suspended from the UU. Phillip, however, is not concerned, due to the alliance not being neccessary anymore. However, due to certain time-traveling actions not taken by a certain person in Universe #522912, the entire fabric for the space-time of Universe #522912 is falling apart. So they are forced to open diplomatic relations with the only universe not in the UU: Universe A. And that means negotiating with, you guessed it, Zapp Brannigan. However, en route to DOP Headquarters, a slight accident occurs, forcing Turanga to take command of the Nimbus. Everyone, except Phillip, becomes sure that Turanga is up to something. (Nobody seems to trust her that much) But Phillip and Turanga seem to have stumbled upon something much more disturbing... Was Ms. Amy Wong really dead?
(I smell a 'Search For Spock' parody...)

Yeah, where is BumbleBeeTheta, the legend? I simply must pay her homage and request her director's cut of 'A Helping Hand'. Genius story, genius!

I've only read a couple paragraphs so far, Zed, but...well, I don't know why I bother asking this but you just had to make Cathar=Russian, didn't you?
I also think you put three pages of writing into the easiest boss battle of the game, but we'll see when I'm done reading.
And on an unrelated side note, I miss Layla too.
Alright, I finished. Interesting, Zed, quality writing style, if a bit verbose (you may want to trim your author's note to give away fewer details). A good story, and one that manages to surprise me in places despite having experienced a version of it twice already. Your characters are pretty spot-on, though the fear among the Jedi characters toward the beginning is a bit odd. After all, they've survived a few run-ins with the Sith before now, and they're getting all emotional even before they know they have a Lord after them. The revelation of HK-47 is good, and I liked Bandon's extremely prolonged death. To me, though, *spoiler*Revan*/spoiler* was never one to second guess herself that much, but maybe that's just how I played him.
Pronouns are fun
Overall, I award you 500 XP, and Nadia 1 Dark Side Point.

(Fade in, starfield) Narrator: In the tradition of sci-fi movies, this one too begins with a star-field. (Pause) Narrator: Even though it's completely nonessential to the story. (Camera quickly pans down to bring Earth into view) (Cut to)
(Exterior shot, 7นน, sunny) (Fry and Bender walk up to the door) (Fry leans over to read a sign on the door) Fry: Wow... Free Klein bottle with any purchase! Bender: Really? Let me see! (Bender pushes Fry out of the way to read the sign) Bender: You idiot! It says 'Inquire within'! (Cut to)
(Interior shot, 7นน) (Fry and Bender are perusing the shelves) Fry: Hey, Bender take a look at this! It's a Mobius strip no-wear belt drive, with warranty! (Bender walks over, interested) Bender: Really? (Pause) Bender: You idiot! It says 'See other side for details'! (Cut to)
(A splash screen which says ''The One Where Everyone Stumbles Across Finding Ms. Amy Wong As Opposed To Searching', also known as 'The One With the Evil Parallel Universe Part II'. Coming to a thread near you. Soon.') Narrator: And to think that the puns in this trailer only involved three-dimensional topology... (End of trailer)
