I could help you out, except I'm busy right now. But in two weeks, I can help you with the drawing. But I have a certain unique style that you may not want. Check here: http://decapod10.cjb.net

What are you programming it in? and have you thought up a good plot? I may be interested, maybe it could be a collaberation between many artists

I'm using AGS. First game should be a "capability" test. A small game without a great plot just to see how the collaboration goes. If it goes well - then we make the full-length game. I have no problem writing a script for the game... Its the drawings I got a problem with.

Collaberation, eh? That doesn't sound like a bad idea. Also, I can whip something together now even though I'm busy. Yeah, whatever yah need...

What would the plot/main idea of the game?

I've been toying with several ideas. One of the ideas in very very short, for example: All My Circuits has been unjustfully cancelled by the TV network, and Bender, Fry & Leela must go to the channel's HQ for a showdown against the TV Executive bots introduced in "Bender should not be allowed on TV".
There are several other ideas... Will discuss 'em with/if people will join the project.

Well anyone ever play crimson/viridian room? we could make it a game like that... or, it could be a larger game like kingdomofloating...

Except that Crimson Room made my brain explode. A puzzle/action game sounds interesting, but it should be a BIT more lucid than C/VR...

I've always thought that something similar in style to Maniac Mansion would work well for a Futurama game.

Actually, I think the model that would work best for a Futurama point-and-click adventure is SPACE QUEST. If I would know better I'd even think that Fry was influenced by the character of Roger Wilco (and I dont think he did). The two are so similar its scary, the humor in the game and in Futurama is exactly the same humor and even the universe is very close to each other.

Here is a sample of the game's design plan. Since its just the beginning the pattern of the design plan will change, ofcourse, and its just the first room. On the Word document its more neat since there are bold, italic and underline so its alot more readable.
anyway, sorry if its very long. At this time I'd like to remind everyone that I'm still searching for more people to work on the project! Everyone are invited!!
************************
Cut Scene #1 – Everybody are sitting around the meeting table.

Farnsworth – Good news everybody, today you’ll be making a delivery to Planet Vania 7, a world inhabited by bloody vampires and Werewolves.

Fry – Do Vampires and Werewolves really exist, professor?

Farnsworth – Why ofcourse. Vampires are as real as ghost, fairies, and crustacean aliens.

Bender – Ha! Crustacean aliens, what a bunch of boloney!

Zoidberg – Boloney? Where?

Farnsworth – Off you go!

Room #1 – Planet Express cockpit

Characters: Leela (steering the ship)

Objects: Console, Steering console, Space, Ladder down, Door

** Opening Monolog:

Leela – Ok Fry, it’s a long way to Planet Vania, so I suggest you go to your room and get some sleep.

Fry – You… Wanna join me?

Leela – Very funny, Fry.

** End of Opening Monolog

** Interaction with Objects

Look at Console: Like most things in life, the purpose of the console is beyond you.

Interact with Console: You better not. The last time you played with these things you almost started a war against the people of Payzon 3.

Talk to Console: The professor added voice-activation once, but he removed it after the console started the self-destruct sequence due to Bender’s Banjo playing.

Look at Steering Console: This console allows the ship’s captain to fly the ship… Its really fun to play with!

Interact with Steering Console: Leela – Fry, No! I’m in the middle of flying the ship!
Fry – Can’t I just sit at your lap and steer like last time?

Leela – No!

Talk to Steering Console: No. That would be dumb. Although it never stopped you from doing things in the past… No!

Look at Space: Its space! Don’t act like you’ve never seen it before.

Interact with Space: You tap on the window. Unexpectedly, nothing happens.

Talk to Space: Who are you talking to? Your imaginary friend? He died a thousand years ago!

Look at Ladder down: This ladder leads to the ship’s kitchen.

Interact with Ladder down: (Move to room #2)

Talk to Ladder down: Bender is not in the kitchen… thank god.

Look at Door: The door leads to the upper level corridor.

Interact with Door: (Move to room #5)

Talk to Door: If you want the door to open just walk to it. Ahh, the wonders of the 31st century.

** End of Interaction with objects

** Interaction with characters

Look at Leela: Leela – Fry, you’re staring at me again.

Fry – It’s a free country.

Leela – This is deep space. We are millions of miles away from the nearest country.

Fry – Oh.

Interact with Leela: Leela – Fry, take your hands off me, or I’ll take them off for you.

Talk to Leela: Leela – What are you still doing up? I thought I told you to go to bed. We’ve still got a long journey ahead of us.

Fry – But I want to play!

Leela – That’s an order, Fry!

Fry – Well what about you?

Leela – I’ll head to sleep as soon as I’ll finish setting up the auto-pilot. Now go to bed!

Fry – Yes Captain!

** End of Interaction with characters

Stolb3erg, can you give me the link to Viridian Room? I tried to find it normally, but since the page is in japanese an all... Oy.

Anyway, I can't draw either (or at least, not the Futurama characters) so I can't be of help.

Want a writer? Ask JBERGES.      :)

I guess I could critque scripts, if you're desperate....

I suppose I also could bang together some appropriate bits of dialogue for the various interactive stuff. To recommend myself I  now point out my extensive experience with Point-n-click adventure games, my Futurama knowledge, and my natural comic sensibility. Just give me a deadline, and expect a return two days afterwards (it's my system... don't ask me how I work. I don't know.)

Being volunteered by someone else is the best compliment a writer can get…I guess.

Sure, I’ll help out with the script, assuming you get this thing off the ground.  Sarcastic in-game menus sound like fun too.

Well, I already got one artist, which is a bit busy for the next two weeks (so am I, since I got a huge math test for the university in about 8 days... thank god for work, where I got time to do nothing all day).
Anyways, as you can see I am already writing some things here, the most problematic thing is the puzzles, I guess. thinking ahead where you can find item to use where and with what.
Also, I'm having problem "mapping" the PE ship and HQ. It appears that every time they (makers of Futurama) changed the ship and building to fit their needs in each episode...
Uhh. headache.

Yeah, pretty much.  :)

There's some blue prints for the ship here.

Also, the Futurama video game lets you run around the Planet Express building, so you could use that (or use the help of someone who's played it) to help you construct the layout. There are, however, a few noticible omissions and inconcistencies (such as the lack of the Locker room and accusing Parlour). These could be rectified, though.

Anyway, in other word - every assistance is welcome, since I'm not paying anyone!!  :D

Okay, I've decided for a plot, tell me what you think:
While on route to Planet Vania (See above) the crew goes into hybernated sleep (or whatever they called it in "Kif gets knocked up a notch" ). When they wake up they find themselves not in Planet Vania, but drifting away without fuel in uncharted space due to the death of the Autopilot. Now, with no fuel, and only food that was cooked by Bender, the crew must travel from one world to another in a hope to get home.

I'm bumping up this thread because I dont want to start another.
The game is getting along, already we have an actual working version of the first room. Some graphics are still temporary (taken from sites for personal use, to use as reference until the actual graphics will be done) - and that is why we are not showing it to you.
On the project currently working Alenacat and GermanFryFan, but since they currently busy with their personal life (i.e. They got a life) and me having only 3 monthes to live and all... (until I start studying at the university), I generally want to speed up the pace. So, bold PEELers, The Futurama game project NEEDS YOU!

And not only artists we need, no sir (but they are needed, dont get me wrong). We also need someone who can create music (doesn't have to be complex), simple animation movies (AVIs, etc), who can design the puzzles or just help with the script.

And at this point I wanna thank Alenacat and GermanFryFan (thanked in Alphabetical order) for all their help...

I can handle some of that.  I have some non-Futurama background music (not claiming it's amazing) that you can use if you'd like.  Most of it has a trance-techno feel.

I also have this Futurama cover:

Which I could extend and vary.

I will however advertise this on my site, we might have a small base, but we have a community of coders and artists alike, so if it attracts the attention of them then all the better!

Slack, you haven't got the demo's build yet... still working on the next version... now featuring randomly generated "opening phrases" like in every Futurama episode.
Gotta work on the quitting GUI to make randomly generated messages like "quit and I WILL DESTROY YOU!" with Morbo's pic near it, or something like that  :)
Anyway, will send it to you and everybody else when I'm done.

Wow, I just found this thread and it seems you are really devoted to that thing.
I had the same idea about a year ago and I too wanted to make it with AGS, but I'm bad at graphics so after a few frames of a fry walk cycle I just gave up.
I really would like to help but I'm covered in work at the moment, so I wish you all the best with this and hope you stick with it!
