I've been lurking around here for a little bit and finaly got the nerve to post something. So here it is my attempt at building the Planet Express Ship. It based off the 2D and 3D versions.

Here are some test animations of it. Both are in divx 5.1.1

Ahh Angelfire is just so good isn't it?

You need to host them on a dedicated picture hosting site like Strike9

That's awsome. Looks Cel-shaded and the proportions look spot on (to me that is).

But since you call it crap with no sign of irony or sarcasm you're obviously a teenage whore. Which deducts from the awsomness of your pictures.

Thanks, the front windsheild took forever to get right.

I didn't say this was crap. In this case crap means stuff since I was planing on posting some of the other things I'm working on here. Calling me a "teenage whore" was uncalled for.

Yeah, I guess that was kind of uncalled for. But there's always the -button.

What program do you make these in ?

All The PE ship needs is a longer nose, and it will be indistinguishable from the original.

For more info: try this

Not sure about the hoverbot, but it looks like it's the real deal.  I'm expexially impressed at the spot-on cell shading.  Bravo, Croooow

If your wondering how he eats and breathes, and other sci...

wait a minute!  Danngit!  I curse your choice in names.

once more, good work.  Try the Nimbus sometime.  I looove the Nimbus.

I've been to that site a few times but, wasn't too sure how correct the side view was. The toon effect took quite a lot of fiddling with max 5's ink'n paint material to get it to look right.

Actually Pitt Clemens I have attempted to build the Nimbus but didn't get to far.

The hoverbots were my favorite charaters from the game. Especialy the two guarding the chicken walker.
Hoverbot 1: I know I'm supose to like robot women but...
Hoverbot 2: You mean you like human woman?
Hoverbot 1: No, robot men.
Hoverbot 2: oh. (quickly looks off in ther direction)

At least I think thats how the bit goes.

Well I've gotta go offline now. I'll post some more as soon as I can.

Quite elegant and extraordinarily accurate. I love all of them! Have you designed any crafts of your own? I'm terrible at that sort of thing..

Sorry for the lack of posting I usually get online at least once a week. Unfortunatly I lost my internet service for a bit. But now I'm back. While in offline hell I've been plugging away on a few things
here's bender
slightly earlier version testing textures.

Here's my attempt at the Planet Express building. (I'm still fidiling with the textures)

An attempt at making the Fry and Dr. Z.(only the heads.I can't make people in 3d worth a fart.)

and here is a little peek at something I've been working of for a bit

How long did it take you to do that last avi file?

It took about a week an a half to render it out. Most of the render time was for the car layer and the layer that has the monitor billboard and transport tube.

I think the imperfection of the Fry and Zoidberg models is what makes them great. Kind of like early designs for the characters.

Took a break form working on my 3d stuff(got season 4 dvd and decided to watch all 4 seasons at once). But now I'm back at it so here we go with the updates.

I've rebuilt the PE buildings tower, fiddled with a few of the textures, and started rebuilding all the exterior details

here's a cutaway showing the inside with the PE ship in the vertical launcher.

and her's a goofy idea I had for a desktop background

This is going to sound like a stupid question croooow, but would it be possible for you to upload/send me an email of a screen capture of the settings for the ink'n'paint material?  I'm also using 3DS Max (Version 6) and I've been playing around with that material but I'll be damned if I can't figure out what each thing does.  Like under ink controls, the Overlap, Smgroup, intersecton bias that kind of thing.  I've spent hours playing with it but still can't figure it out and I can't seem to find a tutorial anywhere where it explains that material. Thanks.

wow, this stuff is great. I didn't even know this thread existed. The only thing I'd have to say is that Bender's fingers are a little too long. But nonetheless, very nice work croooow. I know I couldn't do it.

I think they're great.  :)
One slight feeling I have - I dunno, perhaps the PE ship's nose should be slighlty more longer.
