Very nice artwork   :)
I like it   :)
I like it that much that I did this nice scan-art below:

The lines on her face, i'm assuming their supposed to be smile creases, make her look old. However the hairstyle is absolutely adorable. But i would never wear that top with that skirt.

I'm "old", so I tend to make pictures of old people

but the caption says 'young' Leela. Old Leela can have lines on her face, her mom does. But young leela just had freckles.

I'll remember that with the freckles  for other pictures of a young Leela I'll do ...

Yea I would have put the dimples lower and make them much shorter.  The dimples should be right next to the corner of the mouth.  And what are you guys talking about 1993 outfit... I wore that yesterday...

I can't explain that.. I guess.. Well.. They're the male and female archetypes as presented in manhua like i.n.v.u., but I just couldn't imagine Leela as a skinny, giddy little kogal, so...

Glad to see you haven't stopped doing art altogether, Vee.

I really like the Amy one, but why did you give her green eyes?  As anyone who's seen Big Trouble in Little China knows, Chinese girls do not have green eyes.

Lunch, the top pic....you could save a lot of confusion by just saying they were Fry+Leela offspring. That's a pretty cool looking cyclops guy, but the roller skate on the girl freak me out  :D

Uhhhhhhh.. What he said.
Actually, I didn't know WHAT colour to make them! Green or blue is my general choice.. If only because brown always turns out looking like black and all the other colors are too distracting... But I layered in a bit of brown and then added green..

[Edited because I'm a moron. Lately I've just been referring to the gender of the Avatar... 'Amy avy? Oh, must be a girl' :Hits self: What DOES that make ME..!]

Eh, she looks good with green eyes, anyway.  I wasn't really complaining; I just wanted to mention Big Trouble in Little China.  I had thought that maybe you had given her green eyes as an intentional reference to the movie, but I guess not.

I like Kryten's explanation, though.  Amy probably has tinted contacts in several different colors, to go with different outfits.

Technically, mechanoids are genderless; but he clearly does have a male personality.

I'll explain.

"Chinese girls do not have green eyes." is a line from the movie.  However, one of the characters in the movie is a Chinese girl with green eyes.

The fact that she has green eyes gets her into trouble.  Big trouble.  In Little China.

Not much.  Drawing Futurama characters made me ill last summer.
So I sparsed it out, and have been sneaking some things on DA.
Don't think I should have my own thread.
Can't upload to nowhere on my own.
Leelazone will have to do.
If you can't wait...  then wait for the DA ads to load...

Thanks!

I make my ASCII art by first outlining the shapes I want to make with slashes/dashes. If it's not the size I want, I redo it. Once I'm done outlining the shapes, I decide what characters to use for each color in the picture. Like, M for a really dark color, which was mostly used for little accents in that one. After I do that, I go through each line and add in the characters I chose. I like to add lots of detail, so I go through AGAIN and add "shading". Last, I remove the guide slashes and fix all mistakes. I've never done one in color.

I takes a TON of patience and time.

EDIT: I also outline in letters/numbers/punctuation after I remove the slashes. I forgot to mention that...

'Manhua' are comics from Korea. They're distinct from 'manga', comics from Japan, but they're similar in some ways. i.n.v.u. is a comic by Kim Kang Won, and its male/female leads are both tall, thin and dress somewhat 'preppily'. The male skateboards and the girl rollerskates[for a job].
Also you can cheat with ASCII by going here. http://www.text-image.com
But all my respect to the artists that do it by hand [EXCELLENTLY might I add] like YLB!
