The flamethrower isn't crap, but I wouldn't even recommend using it in medium range combat. That thing only shoots as far as if you were to pull your junk out and start pissing everywhere! Another reason why they call it the P-shooter...

On another note, did you know that the flamethrower is already in Halo for Xbox? They just never finished it. It shoots flames, has an LCD screen and everything, the character animation wasn't complete though, neither was the damage for the weapon, so I guess they didn't meet their deadline.

There was also another weapon calle a Gravity Rifle that they never finished either. It had something to do with pulling fire from the ground.

I'm going insane here, so much stuff to do.

Blagh, anyway, I've got a few updates for you all. First off, the Hog/Jeep/thing (from that screengrab on the last page from 300 Big Boys) is turning out pretty good besides a few INSANELY aggrivating indice problems I've encountered. The skin will be much easier, as long as I can get the BASIC MODEL down.

I've reformed the flamethrower in many ways:

Fry's face is now plastered on both sides of the front flame-form panels of the flamethrower:


The Flamethrower's Gauge has been fitted with each 3 letter named sub-main character (Amy, Fry, Bot (Bender)) and has an image in each actual level bar:


The Warthog has also undergone some major changes:

The Warthog's body has been changed:


Certain areas of the Hog's LAAG have been edited:


The tires have also been modified:


The Ghost has been modified a little too:


And last but not least for the vehicles, the Scorpian's body has undergone a few bitmap changes as well:

As for the weapons (how many of these things are there?), they have also been bitmapped a bit:

Those are only a few of the many many bitmaps that will be/are changed as of now. I'm also importing a few new sounds into the game also though, for example, death clips are now changed to audio clips of Amy yelling/screaming from certain episodes. And other sounds will probably be changed as I go along besides dialogue. "Why only Amy though" you ask? I would do the other's, but Amy is the only character's audio clips I can find anywhere, so if anyone knows where I can get dialogue samples of characters like Fry, Leela, or Bender, please tell me.

Also, for the Cinematics of the upcoming video, (there aren't many completely cinematic moments except the beginning...for now), I have a simple written Storyboard Layout for anyone who gives a crap:

On one of the ghost's wings, does it say "IAN.gnome" instead of "LAN.gnome"? Or is that just a trick of the light, or a lowercase L, or something else?

It was just a minor glitch between programs while saving the pic. It's just like the other wing "LAN.gnome".

@Nurbot: Sure, just pick one that you know of. Your the first person to ask if your avatar could be placed on a weapon so far.

@Thoth: I would add your name to the shotgun, but it's been modified into a Positron Shooter, and there isn't a Wraith in BG.

Bare in mind though, everyone, that Bloodgulch isn't the only level that mods will be made. Halo, the Maw, and maybe Assault on the Control Room will also take place in this video, so if there's any major (something atleast making a major note of) that you feel should be in one of these Campaign Levels, speak up     :).

Edit: There's one mod in particular (in one of these SP levels) that I'm saving for the video that everyone here (who's atleast seen a few of the more "galactic" episodes anyway) has seen will definetely recognize     :D ....

what you should do is code fireworks! lighting up the night sky!

orrr. is it actually possible to change the time of day? like in the ambient lighting and a new skybox? or would all the textures need to be made darker?
also, i hereby request that you replace the hippo on the shotgun shells with a picture of somthing hillarious. or even with a photo of a real hippo!

You obviously know more about Halo than I thought...I'm not sure you can change the skybox, but the ambient lighting and lenses are. For example, someone made a Bloodgulch-night mod (which I never got around to playing) but heard was VERY well made, so perhaps a time-of-day change is in order for this mod afterall.

You mean this Hippo   :)?


These are easily editable, too bad no one looks at them anymore after the big Easter Egg find of '02   :rolleyes:  .

that would be the very hippo indeed. why does the shotgun cartridge have part of the texture as rock? and why does it say 8 gauge, i thought it was an ol' 12 guage? And yes, a night mod of blood gulch was what i was hinting at.

If you ever get into creating levels, rather than editing textures, you could make a really cool race map, with big banked corners and the like. that would the nice  :)

I played halo on xbox far, far far too much. on the day it came out i played it from about 7:20 in the morn till 11:30 at night, no breaks. food, sleep and urination was for the weak.

Im also working on a mod (for a later time) that replaces the Pillar of Autumn with the Nimbus Battle Cruiser (seen in War is the H-Word) and the Pelican with the PE Ship. But remodelling a Pelican to the PE Ship is VERY hard without deleting vertices, so it may be a very long time until I can get that mod to work...

In other news, where do I want my name in Blood Gulch?  On the tank?  Oh my yes, "The Wrath of Nix" on teh barrel and a giant Disco-Stu's-head-in-a-jar plastered over the hood would look quite nice. 

Of course, the tank won't necessarily be in every game.  On the wall of the blue base, right over the front entrance (the door that most faces the rest of the arena) "Warning: Beware of Nix" in honor of one of the greatest games ever played.  I could probably dig up the story in one of the video game threads, but meh.

Wow, this is my first Best Thread Evar award, EVER! Nix, I'll try modelling a Disco-Stu head-in-a-jar to go over the hood or cockpit for you, but if worst comes to worst and for whatever reason there isn't enough time to finish the model and recalibrate and compinsate for the loss and addition of deleted/added vertices, I'll just stick with the text across the barrel (in big, BOLD silver letters) and the Warning: Beware of Nix over the front of the blue base entrance  :).

So, from now (8:45 AM, EST) until mid day Monday, I'll be working on this mod and video, so sorry if I don't get to some of your questions, but I'll try.

(What the hell, I've just gotta click a link in my favorites bar...what am I? A blue-collar?)

A cinematic/mod rec. video for those who can't actually play the mod on their own and for those who want to see the mode before they apply the .PPF (patching a .PPF is just an easier way to mod a .MAP) and I will also be releasing (you guessed it) a .PPF for the mod. As for why its 3:51 and I STILL havn't finished the video, my sister was using my comp to finish a project and burn some CD's FOR 2 HOURS.

Anyway, with those regards aside, I'll start filming...
