Ok here is my voice audition for Zlork the brainslug.

I thought to myself, how would a brainslug that wasn't attached to some one sound. So I started with that "ahh" noise that people make when they are assimilated, and spoke with that noise in a "posh" upper class accent. I think it has the potential to be quite funny with the right lines.

Zlork- Still docked, engines at full

Interesting Grim, but a bit..... I dunno, but its pretty cool, and I can see it getting used on Pizzarama. One thing, you seem to stall on a few bits, mostly the s'es, sounds a bit out of place.

Anyway Howard, how goes the project?

Grim it needs to be louder...  all your sound outputs are very muted...

Edit:
Lines for the ship's computer... tone/inflection???  Kinda like the lab computer from Dexter's lab?

I have a question.  How does your Brain slug speak?  In Futurama they only speak through hosts and are monotone.  Does Zlork speak through his suit/platform?  If so maybe you should alter whoever's voice you choose with a computer and make it sound a bit less... human?

Edit- Btw- Very well done!

well, ladies and gentlemen - I'm still working on it - nothing to show for now. Anyhow, Hopefully I'll heve something soon. FJ - more like the computer from star trek - just massively sarcastic.
Pirx is right about the Robot thing - I hadn't thought about that.  And remember - monotone is prefered!
Thanks for all your support, guys!

whoa.  I've put this thing on the back burner for so long... I almost forgot about it. Geez. I'm sorry, guys. Work has been so all-consuming, and it's not getting any better. it literally leaves me 2 hours every day to do anything personal.  That usually only is used for being lazy.  However - I will have 2 weeks of in december, so I'll try and wrap this up then.  Shouldn't take me more than 3-4 days to do it.  :D
Once again, I'm sorry I got sidelined, but I'm definately going to try and finish this thing.

Howard, as someone else who's work tends to be all-consuming, I completely understand how you've put this project off for a while. Let me beg and plead with you to keep going! When I watched the final episode of Futurama, and knew that there were going to be no more new episodes ever, I cried and pulled out clumps of my hair in sorrow... it was an embarrassing time for me and everyone I work with. What you've put together so far holds out an exciting ray of hope, and I know I'm not alone is saying this. You rock!

I know I, for one, have nowhere near enough talent to do anything with them - I'm a programmer, not a graphic artist   ;)
And judging by what I've seen, there'll be few in the same ballpark as you :P

Impressive. Keep up the good work, and may you never have to defend yourself against Fox lawyers.

PS: Is some of the figures in Futurama also made like this? When we rotate the cam around Bender, or the Planet Express house, it look like made in 3d3d (but i dont see it that clearly in the first episodes)

Judging by the 3D model segments on the S3 and S4 DVDs, I believe the 3D animation is done in Maya, with a special plug-in to get the "cartoon" shading effect.

Okee dokeee.
This is sad.
I've lost my entire website to file corruption.
Lucky for you - I've got backups.  :D
So -once that server comes back on line, I'll re-upload the files, as well as the source models and animations.
I'm sorry I've been absent for so long, but I've not had the chance to get back here because of work...
