Have a guest PEELer each Episode.

Make Internaitioal References, like Red Dwarf and other stuff.

That is absolutely fantastic - I think it exceeds the Futurama Video Game in terms of the 3D animation - I honestly couldn't tell the difference between that and the show's own 3D!

(And I like the ship - is it influenced by Boba Fett's ship at all?  ;))

Whatever you do, remember not to sign a contract with FOX (unless you plan to add a "weekly showing and no football pre-emption" clause)  :p

nope - only a week. Hmm - I don't know about the Guest idea - But I do plan on having cameos by other characters of the real show. That gives me an idea....
Actually, no - the ship isn't infulenced by slave 1 at all. More of a blue banana. I did steal the enigne color from Star Wars, though.  :D

I need to find a Maya tutorial, I lost the 2nd CD.
Or get 3DS Max.
Is it very hard to use?

not at all. Simply give it a color, line thickness, and where and how you want the lines to appear, and slap the render button - I'm simplifying it a bit, but that's essentially all there is to it.

Howard Day, very well done.  I'd love to help out in any way possible.  I run my own public access show, here in my town, so I'm a bit too busy to write scripts.  However, I am extremely confident in my voice abilities.  Just let me know what I have to do to audition.

Damn 3DS Max is like $1000.
I prefer to keep learning maya unlimited.

I wanted 3DS Max so much.

Hey there, I'm German. I usually don't have a strong accent but I can easily do one.  :)
Just give me a few days to record something.   :) Well, I hope I'll be able to do it, I can't stand the sound of my own voice when no one's around who makes some "funny" voices as well.

Oh and I'll install DivX soon so I can watch what you've done there.  ;)

Ever considered using Blender?

Well, I feel really bad saying something negative, but I guess you might find it helpful...I felt the camera keyframing was a bit dodgy, as is the opening keyframing on the ship. I'd suggest adding some mo. blur in that particular moment...

But I'm very interested in giving you a hand...I'm a bit of a jack of all trades...so perhaps I could help you as a render farm, texturer, animator, modeller (generally NURBS), sound dude (creation of sound effects), even a web host etc...I'm very interested    :)

Absolutely correct - would you mind pointing out exactly where you see a problem?  Those keyfarmes ar on my short list of things to fix.
the render farm offer is very, very intriguing.
Thanks for speaking your mind!

Alrighty, HD.  Can you give us a description of the characters should kind of sound like?  I don't even know if I should use a high voice or a low voice or what.  I get that your open to voices, but I need something to go on here.

Broyle: Sort of a mix between fry and michael j fox.
Zlork - Abrasive, obnoxious: A gentler bender
Jorg - A mix between Spock and a dude with a european accent...

Hope these help...

I view divX stuff through VideoLAN, so timings aren't that accurate:

0:00:07 - 08: On reflection, it's more the camera that's the problem rather than the ship. The camera moves too far to the left (ie, it should move forward more at the same time) when zooming in on the "P". I personally think the ship should move faster at that point as well, and on a side note the engines could glow more to show the acceleration (but if you're doing the glow as a Video Post effect that might be tricky).

0:00:11 - The camera moves around the HQ, and then tracks the ship, but at this particular point the camera shifts noticeable to the left, pushing the HQ off screen, before correcting itself again.

And (I feel so bad saying this  :) ) I also felt the signs on the HQ didn't work too well - the white background seems to detract from them. I think it's because of the cell shader...I'd change the colour, or maybe even animate (seperately, and then texture them on as an avi)...perhaps even scrap the signs all together?

It's mainly the first 15 seconds that need a bit more work - the rest is great...the only comment I have is the floor lights in the pizza "factory" move too fast, and then suddenly stop, but hey - I'm a fussy guy  :) ...the actual animation seems great during the last 1/2.

Maybe there should be a fat chick who could be the Pizza 'Roid beaurocrat... the Hermes... if you will.

Make up a woman character so I can audition for the voice. =D
Or even use my own.  I do a pretty good valley girl inflection...

Edit:  Mmm... overweight cheerleader beaurocrat...

Heh - maybe the Ships computer? I plan on having that as a character as well.
Good save, man! I hadn'/t noticed that the lights stop.  :D Thanks a lot - the first 16 seconds is going to change significatly.  I'll update more after work.
Thanks again!

I just noticed, in the scene where Broyle is snoozing on the job, there is a bit of something flying around near Zlork.

Odd Indeed

I've watched it several times and all i can see is the red lights flashing and a splash of sauce that come from the bottom of Zlork's 'jar'.

Auditions, anyone?  Here's you change to become involved in this project! nothing binding of course, but if you're into voices, or talking to yourself, you might consider applying...
Here are the sample lines for the different parts - apply for as many or as few as you like. at this point, any accents or voices will be considered.
Right now we're only casting for the 3 main parts.

Broyle:
"So how come your brother's so dumb and you're so smart?" (Curious)
"Bah! COME ON! I've got the engines at full, why aren't we going anywhere???" (angry/frustrated)
"How does that figure?" (curious)
"Father - NOOOOOOOO!!!!" (AKA Luke Skywalker)
"Well... at least the twins are awake again."

Zlork:
"How you got this job is beyond me, you stupid ugly bag of mostly water." (disgust)
"We're still docked. And you've got the engines at full. Bonehead. My people wouldn't make such an incredibly stupid mistake. Well, except for my uncle Sludge. But he was a cross-breed with a Jello-mold." (non-chalant)
"He's targeting us! FIRING! Aft thrusters are down! Artificial gravity's failing!" (Panicked)

Jorg:
(Random muttering)
"Well in my case, it's true. Mom and Dad left me theirs in their will. I was the more responsible one. But, I tell you, it's like a four-alarm fire in my head sometimes... they still like to argue." (Explaining)
"Oh. I see. Uhm. Oh, look, the pepperoni's sliding." (Distracted)

Well, that's it.  Send your sound bites (in any format, Mp3 and .Wav are preferred) to PovRayGuy@aol.com. I'll let you know as soon as possible! Thank you all for your interest!

id apply but my voice SUCKS

EDIT:  Well, I have my audition saved in wave file form, but now my hotmail account is telling me that I can't attach them to an e-mail, because they're so large.  What should I do?
