Operative word in the title - "Tries"

Hey guys, i've been making a lot of avatars recently... so i thought i might try a 'real' scan. So here's what it came out like


As you can see its pretty crappy and pixelated... but if you zoom out, it actually looks pretty good... im still fine tuning it, but here it is anyway... im thinking of putting the VW van in the background    but we'll see how we do with this first... Hope you like it!

Lines are a little bumpy, but good for a first scan.  I love that episode and that scene!

Not bad for a first try, not bad at all. Way better than what I could come up with back then. Keep them coming. 

What programs do you use? The more you blow up the framegrab in programs such as PSP or Photoshop before tracing the less pixelated it'll look once it's shrunk down.

Other than that Flash is excellent for avoiding pixelation, at least in my experience.

I used PSP8... i enlarged it 200% which isnt enough apparently

They are showing up as red crosses now. So are my villagephotos.com pictures, I think you may have gone over the daily limit. Like I did. Or maybe I did, and that also means I can't see yours. I don't know!

Well if that's the case, it should be OK tomorrow... probably shouldn't be hotlinking a pic with a bandwidth limit.

Yeah well im at school and we have the crappest security thing out, so i see Red X's all the time on people's posts...
I checked out Village Photos again and i have gone over the limit

Ok, just the one new one this time, i wont link directly it's friggen big! I tried to scan it at 400% as opposed to my usual 200%

I know the popcorn looks crappy but it was a hard grab to scan.. it came from this dark dank grab http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-9/358422/blah.gif  which incidentally is why his hair looks crappy (i had to draw it myself  )

You have to enlarge it more.
I usually use 2800 width and 2200 height.
They'd come out smoother.
Also if you can´t see any detail because of darkness light up your monitor.
I always use that.

It's already as bright as it goes sadly enough... ive got an OK screen, it just has crappy limitations like that... Ahh well thanks for the advise Nefnar

Because i'm colour blind... and the grab was dodgy... I must've hit an odd coloured pixel with the grabber, i'll patch that up tomorrow but it's too late now.

Anyone want to request a scan?
Just don't make it too hard, if you want i might do a compilation thing, like the hippy and van thing... If you're not sure what's too hard, ask anyway, i'll see what i can do. I will probably also making avys out of them if it's possible too.
If i get lots of requests i will just choose which ones I want to do  . If i get no requests i'm thinking about doing a bunch of Beelzebot scans.

Also it's probably worth pointing out the lines shouldn't be crappy and jagged this time.

Hey people!
I've decided to make a "Time keeps on slipping" compilation banner thing, might be done tonight... but we'll see... But I need some help, I need a DVD Quality framegrab of the Globetrotters lined up in the V shape... If i can get that soon, I will be able to at least get a preview done by tonight.

Sorry about this, but i've decided to go for a wallpaper instead of a banner, and i need a good grab of "Madison Cube Garden" for the background.

It's up to you though, the grab is about 4 minutes through Time keeps on slippin'
