What started as an attempt to cover the cheap wood of Addie's tacky computer desk grew into more of a hobby: Drawing Futurama characters on computer paper.
These are two drawings I did today. Keep in mind I don't claim to be an artist, and the only art class I've ever taken was in 8th grade. And it was required.
Leela MonochromeWhat I used for this was basically a crayon, but the lead is skinnier and is in the form of something like a mechanical pencil.
Leela MesstecceI've officially named this brand of my drawings as "Messtecce", being a slurred combination of "messy" and "sticky". What I used was a sketching pencil and then oil pastels, which are very messy. I used my fingers to smudge the oil around to get a messy effect. It gives it a sloppy quality that I like. I drew the monochrome first but decided I wanted one with color so I traced a few base lines from the monochrome onto another piece of paper.
I've made 3 other drawings so far, including a 5ftx5ft oil pastel version of Fry and Leela's kiss at the end of the series finale, that was very messy and I had to use the pool table downstairs for a drawing board. Took about 5 hours to do. I'll have pictures of that and the other two up soon and along with whatever else I draw.
Hmm, that's a lot of bla-bla-bla for 2 drawings... oh well. Hope you enjoy
