its not like u'd have much done in the 3 months til then anyway, I say wait, or at least do non game specific items like planning and design.

OOOOHH!!
Goody gumdrops, this sounds promising, I gave a lot of input on a Stargate SG-1 HL mod a while ago (before it shut down  :( ) and I'll rack my noggin for ideas if you want.

I agree about using the HL2 engine though, but work away on it for the HL engine first, it'll be good practice. Valve are supposed to be making it 10 times easier for modders on HL2.

Question: Will it be 1st or 3rd person?
You can do 3rd person view from what I remember?

You will probably be able to pick. Again, depends on how big a team we get/ how good they are at modelling. It may look a tad like the official game (but not SO cel shaded)

I'd be temped to try and make the nonstandard games look like you'd expect them too, but add in the Deathmatch option and make it look like the VR deathmatch we saw in the Bicylops episode, where the PE crew WERE shooting one another.

Hell, make the player spawn with nothing but a finger to point as a laser pistol...

Yes, and make the player models normal, but with a green "shell" around them (like the shell that appears when one is invincible etc.)  The shell would be on all the time however.

When a player is killed, they can shatter and make the breaking glass sound.

For shattering, you can remove the player model and "toss" a bunch of shards around (debris models)  I did this in my Q2 mod, where there was a "freeze thrower".  The player would be stopped dead, with a white shell around them.  And if someone kicked or shot them when frozen, they'd shatter.

Excellent idea Yorokobi.  I think that's a perfect alternative to the characters simply killing each other (which i am against).  And better yet, it stays true to the show!  How can you go wrong with that?
Yorokobi's idea could be the plan for an all out deathmatch, and for the other game types suggested (fighting the parasites, etc.) the characters can be modeled as they are seen on the show.

Some minor ideas that I have (sorry if they have been mentioned before):
special skill for each character, such as zoidberg being able to temporarily blind others with his ink pouch.
an audio file that plays the famous zoidberg "woop woop woop" whenever someone playing as zoidberg is defeated.
Parallel universe characters:  this way, more than one person could play the same character; such as one person plays leela with purple hair, and another person could play leela with red hair.

Yo All,

We'll have to see how much the Half-Life 2 engine can do. And if all the hype is right, that'll be a hella lot.

I like a lot of the ideas here, especially the 'Green Shell' idea and the Parallel Universe idea.

EDIT: I've just had an idea. You could have the Hypno Toad as a weapon, and use him to control your opponents. When you use him, you become them, and can move them like you would move yourself. The downside is, your 'actual' self becomes vunerable to attack.

Ill do my lame ass Farnsworth Impression (well, it's not too bad), and can anyone do Fry, Leela, Bender or Zoidberg?

There's gotta be at least 1 map where you can knock people off and a weapon to do it.  I used to absolutly LOVE to play the bespin level in Jedi Knight and use force push to shove people off the catwalks!

ROFLMAO.

Of course to get the full effect you HAVE to have some sort of howling yell for the falling victim!
