I know this sounds very ignorant, but I would like to know how to put images in my post. The image is saved as a jpeg in My Documents.
I've read the instructions in the "UBB code explained" page and i'm still not quite clear on what to do. Could somebody please supply a step by step guide. Although I am competent on computers I have to admit I know very little about computer coding, and making web pages, so in the instructions pretend i'm a idiot (only pretent of course).
Thanks.

You can't link to pictures stored on your computer. You can only post pics embedded on a website.

Ok How do i get them on a web site? Remember decribe it nice and slowly, even to the extent of being patronising.
I would realy apreciate it if somebody could take the time to provide me with some instructions as i would quite like to be able to share my Art work. I'm an A level Art student, so trust me that my work is of high quality, and i think that most people here will like it.

Read this.

However, Netfirms is not a good choice, because they don't allow "hotlinking" anymore.

Of those programs linked I recommend LeechFTP. It's a great program, and it's shareware.

A short runthrough on how you use it:

1) Start LeechFTP

2) Click File -> Connect

3) Type in your details.

- "Host or URL" : You're account name
- Username: Your username
- Password: The password
All of these will be emailed to you by your hoster.

Click "Ok" LeechFTP connects with your hosting account.

4) Once it's connected you see your account on the right side of the screen. Doubleclick on the folder named "www", and you can start to drag images from your harddrive (on the left side) to the account.

5) Post on PEEL as [ img]http://*your accountname*/*filename*[ /img], remember the files are casesensitive.

The hard part is finding a suitable hoster. Try asking in the Computer help thread in off-topic. Someone is bound to know a good free hoster.
