I liked the first Fry pic better than the second one. It just doesnt seem quite as touching the way it is now, but maybe thats just me.

I don't see how you could prefer it over the other two. I guess you have to be a great artist to really appreciate the underpainting.

I like it because its so simplistic.  That's how real paintings start out, usually using ultramarine and yellow ochre (some of my friends use sepia, and I met someone once who used olive green), then the next layer of colors go on top and there's less chance of screwing up.  I purposefully neglected to use yellow ochre on the underpainting, because I like the depressing feel of the blue.

If you ever get into a conversation with a painter, ask them color they use for underpainting.  It'll tell you something about their personality.

Awesome Zoid and Leela paintings, Jesse! I prefer the Fry underpainting to the completed one, but they're both good.       The legend lives on...

People who like Blue and Ochre:  Probably were taught that way... maybe they tried other things, but stick with this because it can be a real challenge.

People who use reds:  REALLY irrational... its very challenging because its hard to develop neutral reds.

People who use browns/sepia:  Want to get it all laid out fast.  Probably procrastinate and stuff.

The guy who used Olive:  He was a sculpture major

hmmm, my sister makes some sculptures and works with clay. I am tempted to ask my sister to paint something now. Just to see if she what color she uses for the underpainting.

Blue is depressing? I love blue, 'tis my favorite color (good thing mArc picked blue as the PEEL color) and I usually connect it with happy things.

That is one of the most beautiful and emotional wallpapers I have ever seen! That drawing of Fry is amazing, and the sunburst / lensflare from the 'o' is really good. The song lyrics fit in as well, are they 'If You're Not The One' by Daniel Bedingfield? You may have posted that on another page, sorry. Fantastic, outstanding work
