fanfiction from Fry's place in the sting

I adored the sting...and i've been thinking about it quite alot since it aired. The ending was simply phenominal and me being the shipper i am i shed a few tears. But i started this thread because i was daydreaming for a bit now about what could have happened after the attack...I mean how did they get back to earth? was Leela conscious and able to fly back to earth to deliver fry to a hospital only to after a while start falling into the deep sleep when the venom takes its toll? or when they were both knocked out was it bender who saved their lives? and i was thinking about what poor Fry was doing the entire time Leela was out...i would truley love to see a fanfiction about how they got back to earth and about how Fry held up the entire time. I mean I would be intrested in reading how people would feel Fry would react when he awakes after his syrgery and hears that Leela's not exactly "ok"...well i just wanted to put this suggestion out in the air...im not planning on writing this fanfiction myself so id be overjoyed if someone took this idea and made their own interpretation....just a suggestion...does anyone agree theyed be intrested in reading a story like this?

That is a VERY intriguing suggestion. It would definately be interesting how different people would interpret and write that. I'll most likely end up taking a stab at it tonight. Anyone else?

i was gonna start it today but i had to finish my film midterm take-home essay. So i'll start it tomorrow after editing class. It starts out right when the accident happens and then goes from there. It's gonna have how they got to earth, Fry's reaction to Leela's coma, her parents reaction to her coma, what they had to go through while they were waiting for her to either die or wake up, and it's gonna include some of her recovery after she's released from the hospital. It's gonna be really dramatic. Not because i don't like comedy, but because i have a hard time writing it. I'll throw in whatever joke i can think of, but don't be surprised if it comes off like a Lifetime Channel Movie of the Week.

I'm starting mine in a couple of hours. (It has to be 3 am for me to start writing a new piece. It's like a rule or something.) Mine won't be as involved as Venus's; it will start out immediately after the sting (that is, right after when Leela gets stung) and will parallel the entire episode from Fry's perspective. It will end with Fry's thoughts during and immediately after the scene where Leela wakes up.

Well I think by the year 3000 ambulences will travel to space aswell, plus bender can dial a phone you know. Then sal probaly towed the PE ship back to PE.

mine does that too. When i said "what they went through" i didn't mean just leela's parents, i meant Fry too. He and Leela's parents are gonna be equally involved throughout the story.

I've been planning a similar story line before I saw The Sting, only I will promise to make mine different. For one they don't make it back to earth straight away.

I shed a few tears too, I thought it was so sad   !! it really dosen't take much for me 2 cry though. I was up all night thinking about the sting! i just loved it soo much   !!! I can't write that well but i love reading fanfictions and this seems like a really interesting topic!!!

Whoever is making a Sting fanfic, make it REALLY shippy!  There's a lack of those lately.  I thought of writing that for my practice fic(thanks Venus), but I wanted to make my practice fic less shippy than my big fic.  So, I plan to read all of your fics.

I didn't know so many people lived in Florida and the east coast.  GO EAST COAST!

Oh, don't worry about that. I'm going to max out the shippyness level, just to see how high it can go. It's a personal test for me, and also something I promised myself I'd never do. Oh well, I break rules all the time anyway.

I'm working on a story with the working title of "Paradise Misplaced." It takes place immediately after "Parasites Lost." Actually it's my first-ever fan-fic, and it's my humble attempt to explore what might've happened if Fry chose to keep the worms.
Forgive me if I don't go into detail, but any more would be telling.

i assumed it was bender but ur right, they did kinda gloss over it. i can't wait to read fanfics about it! (i would write my own if i had any creative writing talent  )

Either:
1) Fry was disabled due to being impaled on the stinger, and Leela had just enough time to call for help.
2) Leela was disabled by the poison, and Fry managed to call for help.
Or,
3) Both of them were disabled, leaving Bender to play the hero.

As most of the ep was from Leela's halucination (sp?), it would seem she was disabled by the poison almost immediately, and:
Bieng impaled on anything is hideously painfull, traumatic in the extreme to internal organs, not to mention a life-threatening injury in and of itself, I doubt Fry was in any condition to do anything.
That leaves Bender.
Still, from a dramatic standpoint, Fry's hanging on just long enough to call for help is the most appealing.
Just my two-cents worth....
