Reading a couple bits and pieces, I reckon you should think of writing your own stories.

A futurama fan fiction was one of the first stories I wrote (well... I did two, one was a rubbish script, one was a bit better!) and it was cool to do - but it's more fun to do your own!

Plus, and this was a big conideration for me personally, you don't need to write dialogue for other people's characters (v. difficult to find the right level for Fry, in particular), and you don't need to try to cram your own stories with jokes unless you want to!

I think you're good enough at the various bits of writing to at least have a go?

Do you really need 2/3 threads to cover this series?  Mods, close this thread please, he's requested the same feedback on the other fanfic requests, and I would have thought by the apathy towards it, he would have got the message.

I haven't read it yet, and don't intend to, until it starts appearing on other sites as well.

Hey, i will let the others drift to the bottom of the board. this is the one and only one i will be posing in from now on.

silent apathy hath no voice to the ears of a blind writter trying to see the light on the road to making an inspiring tale....

PLEASE DO NOT CLOSE!!!

Seeing Paul act like a jealous webmaster is hillarious, but he does make a good point. I've seen you mention multiple times that you will only send out your series to other sites when it's finished. Why is that? Surely, it isn't difficult to send three or four e-mails instead of just one (or better yet, send one e-mail to three or four adresses), and you've got to admit that playing favorites with websites isn't fair.

I'm not jealous, just a little miffed at the attitude of authors not to spread their work around.  Book authors would wither and die if they stuck to that ideal.

I like TLZ, and I think it is a good site. I Will spread my work around once i have an idea of how good my stories are and how i can make them better. once the Going Insane seris is done, i will sit back an see if you all like the ending.

Yes, that's right, i am to the point where i know how this is going to end, and it will be a real shocker.

Not to mention, I fell as though TLZ is more trafficed by Futurama people, i mean it does have just about everything you could want. Also, the other sites do not have rating systems, and they do not have very many stories. yes i know is should make them have more, but not until the tale is told.

it is just how i plan to operate, and no, you will not be able to change that. you can either go to TLZ or read fan fics on other sites, either way, that is how Going Insane will be coming out.

PS: There will be about 13 parts...

GHT

I think you'll find that CGEF is the most popular and most well known Futurama Site, so at least send them it as well.

TFP and FSAC are not far behind on the well known stakes, although not on Fan Fiction front (especially in FSAC's case, just noticed TFP doesn't have Fan Fics).

Plus I do artwork, not Fiction and my thread Sean's Stuff gets reviews on it, not as many as I'd like, but I still sent my original 5 pieces of art to at least 5 sites straight away, without fear of being ridiculed for them.
