Just when I finally start to see something good about you, you go and bomb this new perception to hell. And since you want examples of what I find wrong with your work. I'll go read it again. Well, actually, what I was attempting to point out is that someone can lift ideas off of others and be quite heralded for it, I have no idea whether you lifted ideas, dialog, or nothing at all.

Considering that fact that I'm 33, with 2 children, I doubt there is ANYTHING you could come up with that would "scar" me.  Shock and Disgust maybe, but not scar.

The later half of my post was referencing the fact that when one speaks in a forum as you do, it is natural to conclude that o your writing skills are similarly crude and unimaginative.

new fan fiction at TLZ about the day after future stock. i must say that half way through it seemed to really make sense, you know everyone hating fry for ruining their chances at having millions of dollars.hell, i would kill the guy that blew that chance for me if it ever happens.

i also liked how it showed amy as having to pay her parents back, now i know this is most likey not the case, but her parents do seem like the type cheap enough to do that.

one thing i didn't like is how fry justifies his actions. it was something about how the price fell drastically and they would be out unemployed and poor anyway. thing is, when you sell it, you get the set ammount per share times the number of shares you have. now at 10,000 shares per most employees, times the 150 dollars that the price managed to reach before fry blew all their chances, comes to 1.5 million dollars. and even if what he meant was that they would not work and spend it all eventually, do you not think that they would still be better off with the money? to invest maybe?

all in all, it was a nice short story right up to the end, or last half depending on your standards.

what do you guys think?

I thought it was a little strange. First of all, they can't fire him for that reason. Second, where's the firing into the sun thing they talked about in the first ep.? This is supposed to be a society based on work. If you don't have a job, you're killed. They failed to address that in the Cryonic Woman.

i think they mean the little chip things. when it comes to jobs. you must have one of those. hey, if you can have poor hobos on earth then you can be unemployed.

and i think they can fire anyone for any reason, and if they can't they should have that ability.

No, there must be a legit reason to fire someone. Not making them millions is not one of them as it had nothing to do with the success or failure of the company.

In the Cryonic Woman, there is reason to fire Fry and Bender. They destroyed the place of business thereby affecting profits gained and lost.

i don't want to start this again, but when you are watching dilbert and typing out a reply...it just seemed to fit at the time.....

now back to topic. i just read universe of malice eleven and i really like it. good character development, shows a stronger smarter fry. guess with no memories he can't remember how he really is. you know, weak, cowardlike, snivviling, stupid? well with no memories i guess you are kinda limited there too, so that is the same. at least he has some common sense like how to fend for himself and how to use items that lye around. like the gun he got from that one part or that thing he did with that old man so they could get to that place there and stuff...

now i have a prediction. i predict that in 12 leela/crew will find fry and alesia and escape the city somehow. now here is wehre there could be a fork in the road. either they all escape in the PTV or they all head back to the ship because hte PTV is not able to fly/they can't get to it somehow, also i bet it is in that place the jewel is alo in.

ALSO:
i have read Love hurts from fanfic.net and i must say it is about time that somebody wrote an Amy Fry love story. i really like how it is turning out so far, but the thing is that fry's character is a bit off here. he is shown to not have a sixth sense for what somebodys feelings are. i always thought he was aware of those sort of things like when somebody is hurt and doesn't want to show it or something.

so far is looks great. can't wait till leela finds out about this and looses the chance to ever be with the one male on the PLANET who actually likes her and is not just trying to get laid or just using her. also don't forget that most men are scared off by the EYE in the first place. how sombody like that can have high standards and have a hope of a true romantic relationship i have no idea.

i may do a fry amy one in the future after going insane is done, but maybe not...fan fiction is beginging to bore me.

i just read no more fun and games 2, and must say it is good. leaves you with the age old thing that plagues  all sorta commeited guys, can fry hold out for one YEAR? i say no, also, i like how it shows that fry's brain was damaged and he is really thinking about whether or not he should fix it. i say yes, but that is just my opinion, you write what you feel is best.

Thanks for the kind words, getak2003, I was wondering what people would think of the "repair" part of the story.  I just wondered what Fry would do if he had the opportunity to fix something that he thought was wrong with him, not something that just happened, but out of his own choice.  As he knows in this story that Leela loves him for who he is, I thought that it might make a little dilemma for him.  Lord knows, I wish that I had a way to fix my memory(like a sieve, it is sometimes), and put that in there.  I also wonder if the original characters fit within the story, or if they seem extraneous, oh well, there's another character who's going to make an appearance shortly, maybe in the second or third chapter.

universe of malice 12 has a total rip off of unreal tournament. hell all the weapons are even called the same things for God sake! what, is the writter going to put in the redeemer too and have fry kick serious ass with that?

and one more thing, this planet eating thing is turning more and more into the episode from startrek: the planet destroyer, i mean seriously, you didn't have to have the ship fly in there like that, first the small one from that one guy (jsut like the Episode) and then with the big one (exactly like the epp) the only thing different is that the monster machine was not destroyed.

and you guys rip on me for ripping shit off!

other than that rant, the story was good, all be it predictable if you watch startrek moderatly and played unreal tournament back in the day. i thought that fry rejected Alesia WAY too fast though. i mean he can clearly see that she is hurting and really needs somebody, not to mention it is not like fry and leela really had a relationship in this story or the series for that matter. i would have had fry shut the hell up about it for a while before he ever came out with it or it was forced out.

i feel that this chapter in universe of malice could have been written a little better, and without the need to use the most known weapons from unreal tournament or turning this planet eating thing into something more and more like the episode. at first i was like "ok, planet eater, just like the episode, but not that bad. just some light concept use" but now it is like "oh let me guess, now he will fly the ship into the mouth of the beast and detonate it right...reads....yep, wow, he is really running out of ideas here. at least he didn't have kirks head flying the thing in there."

it could have been better, and i never thought universe of malice writter would stoop THIS low, average for me, but i always thought he had a higher standard than this.

Well, while I can't say it's good to see that somebody is bashing my story like this, I must admit it IS different. I will defend mysself with the following points though:

* First of all, I have NEVER personally claimed that you have ripped off anything. I know you didn't actually say I have, but just thought I'd note that.
* The whole premise of flying the self-destructing ship into the beast wasn't actually from Star Trek, or at least not intentionally. That didn't even cross my mind until now. Besides, as you said, it didn't work. I can see the parallel though.
* If you check the Unreal Tournament weapons are NOT named the same as the ones in my story, despite the fact they have similar functions. The exception is the Rocket Launcher, because, hell, every game has the rocket launcher. I admit that it may could be called a rip-off, but I more consider it a parody, as I'm not copying any story-line, only the weapons from the game. There's a big difference, IMHO. Others may give their two-cents of course.

Overall, that probably won't make you enjoy it any more, and I'm sorry that you didn't like that chapter, but I just thought I'd point those out. Then again, I should thank you for giving me my first really negative feedback since the story started. So I'll at least thank you for that  :)

I liked Chapter 12 too.  It was all, like....WOW, and stuff!  (I'm so good at describing things, aren't I? :P)  My only complaint is that Alesia whines too much.  :o  But I don't think that has anything to do with the writing itself, soooo...now I've run out of stuff to say.  Keep writing!  Always wear sunscreen!  And most importantly, eat your vegetables!

Actually, according to "Everything is Bad for You" using sunscreen blocks ultraviolet B rays (cause sunburn), but only partly ultraviolet A rays (causes melanomas) Therefore, the longer you're in the sun, the more chance you have of getting it. Also, a chemical used in most sunscreens can/may destory human cells.

Heh, but there's skin cancer that comes from not using it. Pick your poison  ;)

i was critisizing how he was such a great author up to this point where it seems he broke down and took content from star trek (how could you NOT see it!!!) and Unreal Tournament. he has always written alot better and never stooped that low as to take content that blatantly from other sources.

now as for I, i know i plagerize and you know what, i don't give a damn!! i have taken out things from many many fan fics big and small, ripped off of stargate sg1, matrix, and many many other shows, when in doubt while writting my story i just had fry and leela get down, i am a terrible author and you know what, i really don't care.

OK, I'm sick of this, hence my reply. There is no way that you can compare Ken's use of Unreal Tournament and Star Trek, that's if he ever did that, with your blatant ripping of others' fan fiction work. Don't pull the "he's parodied stuff, so why am I treated different?" crap, because any moron who's read fan fiction at TLZ (and I should know, seeing that I'm the moron who's put up most of them on the site for display) can see that your "parodying" is pure wishful thinking. Stop this bullshit, take responsibility, learn and move on.

All I've seen from you is excuses and bull. People here have given advice to you, but you just chuck it in their faces and throw a hissy fit of indignation and faux innocence. Please, act like an adult, take it on the chin and heed the advice given to you.

He may have used situations from Star Trek and Unreal Tournament (he also may not have, there are other explanations out there, you know), but there's a difference between parody and total ripping off. Sorry, but when I read your stuff, I do get the feeling of the latter.

We can tell that by the output, hence the criticism you've been getting. If you want to be a good author, then take care in what you do. The most important advice to give is to do your own thing, and if you do take from another source, give it justice by putting your own spin on it. All I can say is that you've been told this numerous times by others here, others who have a track record in writing good fan fiction, yet you ignore it. Fine then, but don't cry when you receive justifiable flak.

Oh please. Seriously, my use of Unreal Tournament weapons (Yeah, ONLY weapons. Not any storyline) is no different than what Futurama's "The Scary Door" is to "The Twilight Zone" and what Futurama's "Holo-Shed" is to "The Holodeck" from Star Trek: TNG.

Yes I agree as well. Anybody else think Getak should have his own rant thread? That waym he can continue being a troll and still think people are listening. Anyway, I digress. Hil's Birthday Suprise is coming along nicely.

Unfortunately Dwayne Anderson's new fics are hardly worth mentioning. I generally think crossovers are bad as most people can't pull it off realistically. "Just Slightly Ahead of Their Time" is a prime example of why I hate them so. Also, he does an awful job of explaining why they can only go to the future. He needs to take a good hard look at his fics.

Kif White's Universe of Malice is an interesting read. I don't have too many complaints. I sometimes wonder why this new girl was introduced as the current chapter seems to outed her entirely, but maybe I'm reading wrong.

Delicious Suprise- a fic that has started out well enough, but it's too soon to tell where this will lead. I'll be back with more reviews as I remember them.

No Compromises part II- this hasn't been released yet and I haven't read the first part (I'll get around to it), but Paul's been sending me the fic as he writes it and from what I've seen so far, it looks good.

What Getak doesn't seem to get is there's a slight difference between referencing something, which is what you did, and plagiarizing someone's dialogue practically word-for-word and claiming it as your own, which is what he did.
