The demonstration was one of the new Monday-Demonsrations: Every Monday several thousand of people demonstrate in Germany. The demonstrations are for more social fairness and against the "Hartz 4"-law.
Hartz 4 is an anti-democratic, neo-liberal and monopol-capitalist law which would be an important step to turn Germany into a "Wild West"-capitalistic country. (Well, that's not a good and accurate political desription of that law, but good enough, since it's 11:50 pm already and I'm tired).
The people at the deomnstations are conservatives, democrats, liberals, Greens, social-democrats, socialists, communists and other people. The left-wing parties are dominating.
