Omitting Characters

To those who write fanfics, have you ever left out any of the main characters?  My sister Hailey left out Fry and Zoidberg in a fanfic she did called "Jerky Beef".   She did it again in "Inferior Decorators".   Hermes, Amy, and Zoidberg aren't in my fanfics "Cold Diamonds" and "Forrest Dumps". 

Once I got back into writing fanfics I left out Fry, Leela, Zoidberg, Amy, and Farnsworth when I wrote The "Arachno-Spore Robot".   And I left out Hermes, Leela, Amy, and Farnsworth when I wrote "The Adventures of B.R. And The Nibb". 

Has anyone else done this?

I leave all of them out of mine

They do that in the official episodes sometimes, so I'm sure some fanfic writers do it.

I am sure many writers must be doing it. My sister is also a writer but I have never seen her leaving out the main character. They are always in her episodes.
