There was a comic book title called Ingar-Ants is Bliss.   

The title is easily interchangeable.

Just out of curiosity Kurt, do you ever suggest ideas that aren't direct parodies? For someone who seems passionate for writing, you don't seem to particularly care much for originality.

How about one where Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg go on a mission and they have the PE Ship malfunction on them.  They're stranded in space for days on end.   Leela, Hermes, Amy, and Farnsworths  on earth act as Mission Control and they send Leela and Amy to go up there to get them back.

Also, how about one where they're at a post apocalytpic wasteland planet where they people there want the PE Crews; help to overthrow an evil warlord?   Zoidberg gets captured and brainwashed by the evil warlord.   And Fry, Leela, Bender, Hermes, and Amy build souped up versions of hovercars and go up against the warlord's most powerful weapon: "Uberweapon"!   Fry can get chased by it and then Leela can shoot it.   She can say, "Beat it, Bozo!"

Check out these ideas on for size:

The Planet Express crew are at that Amish planet for a vacation.  They're at a tour group, and Farnsworth gets hit over the head.   While knocked out, Farnsworth has a dream that the characters are in an 1800's Pennsylvania setting.  Bender is like Lucious Hunt, Fry is like Noah Percy, and Leela is like Ivy.   Hermes, Amy, Farnworth, Scruffy, Zoidberg, Mom and her sons, Sal, Robot Mafia, Roberto, Linda and Morbo are all villagers, too.  They're all under a threat from outsiders. 

Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg are managers of a robot boxer The Destructor, and they bet their bank roll on his next fight.  When the Robot Mafia tells them to have the Destructor lose (as he has a lot of money bet on his opponent Gorilla Watson) or they will lose their lives, Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg decide to play along. They try to soften The Destructor up by making him sober and alcohol free and having him spend time with their The Donbot's wife Fanny.  The fight gets canceled when Fanny dumps the Destructor and goes back to Donbot and, in a fluke accident, gets entangled with Bender and breaks his hand against a wall. Bender, Fry, and Zoidberg think they have put one over on the gangsters, only to have the bad guys corner them in a deserted warehouse. Instead of being rubbed out, Bender, Fry, and Zoidberg capture the crooks and get a reward.  The Destrutor also throws a cream puff in Zoidberg's face when he offers him one.

Fry and Bender get second jobs being entertainers who wear chicken suits who perform in banks.  Then those two robbers from The Honking steal their chicken suits by breaking into their apartment while they were sleeping and pretend to be Fry and Bender and rob the bank!  Fry and Bender get arrested and try to make the most of their incarceration in an Arizona prison by being cool and telling funny jokes along the way.  Leela, Amy, and Hermes hire Hyperchicken who's their only hope.

Zoidberg gets abducted by time traveling aliens who replace him with a Zoidberg lookalike.  Everyone knows that the new Zoidberg acts strange and even does mean things to the crew.  Then they find out Zoidberg got kidnapped by some time traveling bandits.  So, Farnsworth, Fry, Leela, and Bender go into that time machine from The Late Philip J. Fry to find out whatever happened to Zoidberg.  Along the way, Zoidberg gets lost in different time periods like the Roman Empire and the Alamo.

Some unworldly vampires lead by their leader named Black Cap. kidnap Fry.  They attack Zoidberg.  Once the PE Crew hears of this, Farnsworth reveals he is the head of an anti-vampire organization known as The Cathedral.   Bender, Leela, Hermes, and Amy join the organization and become warriors to combat the vampires.  Bender becomes a Bishop, Leela and Amy are Priestesses and Hermes is a Cardinal.  The vampires live on a planet called Sola Mira and our intrepid heroes go through streets, desert, mountains, and a jungle to track down the head vampire Black Cap who plans to make Fry a slave.   Fry is tied up and gagged as he watches Bender, Leela, Amy, and Hermes do battle with Black Cap's vampire army.  Along the way the slay the vampires up until the final showdown on a train.


Actually, I like the Ninja Turtles idea!   I liked the Ninja Turtles back in the day.  Better to have Leela be Leonardo than April O'Neil!

A parody of that movie Constantine would've been cool!  Bender can be John Constantine, Fry can be Chas Kramer, and Leela can be Angela Dodson.   Plus, one about them going to the year 4000!  Imagine what an interesting story that would be.

Or what about one where Bender writes a pilot for a TV Show that's supposed to be a comedy, but instead the TV execs turn it into a drama?   Meanwhile, Fry, Leela, Hermes, and Amy accidently knock out Zoidberg and try to wake him up before Farnsworth knows about it.

Nah, I wouldn't do that.   As should anybody else.

There should've been an episode that's like that TV Show Vegas:
How about one where they go to a planet that's like the early 1960's Las Vegas?  Bender can be a sheriff, Fry can be a rookie cop, Leela can be a lieutenant and Hermes, Amy, and Zoidberg can work at a casino?

Zapp Branigan can be a Chicago mobster who's on the planet looking for trouble and Bender and the rest are very suspicious of him.  Kiff and the Robot Mafia can be Zapp's henchmen.

I actually do think Kurt's got some cool ideas, they just need to be tweaked to make a bit more sense.

A Goonies style adventure would have been cool for Futurama to do.  Planet Express is on the verge of going out of business and they find out Mom and her sons (who can be like the Fertillis) have some pirate treasure on a planet they own.  Hermes can be like Mikey, Scruffy can be like Mouth, Zoidberg can be like Chunk, Kiff can be like Data, Bender can be like Brand, Leela can be like Stef, and Fry can be like Andi.  (but a male version)  And Amy could be like Chunk's little sister.

An Airplane spoof could've been done.  Like maybe they can go on a spaceship to another planet and meet a bevy of characters along the way.  Cubert is the one who would need a heart transplant.

That'd be interesting. It's not that your ideas are bad it's just that they're way out there, which can be a good thing. I personally always love to read the ideas you have because they are quite creative.

That's the whole idea of Futurama!  It is supposed to be way out there!  

It would be cool if Zoidberg gets in inheritance from his uncle Harold Zoid.  Fry and Bender go with him to see Hyperchicken only to get entangled by the Robot Mafia who gets away with Zoidberg's money and subdues everyone.  Bender tracks down the Robot Mafia and learn they're on a space train.  Then Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg have to encounter disgruntled passengers and even a lion!  Fry and Zoidberg could also do a chant that goes like this:

"We'll get filty lucre!  The moola!  The money!  'Cuz no slippery gangsters like the Robot Mafia are ever going to cheat us!  A-Zoo! A-Zaa!  A-Zo!"  Then Bender can slap them.

Now, another better idea for 'Momsanto'.  An episode that's like 'Stewie Kills Lois' is something Futurama could've done.  Farnsworth goes on a senior scientist cruise and takes Hattie with him.  Mom gets jealous that he didn't take her.  So Mom recruits her sons to take her to the ship.  Walt tracks down the ship and Mom shoots Farnsworth and shoots him point blank (or does she?)  Then back at Planet Express everyone who watching Linda and Morbo do a news report about Farnsworth's disappearence.  So, Fry, Leela, Bender, Hermes, Amy, and Zoidberg all go on the Planet Express ship into the oceans to try to find Farnsworth.

While they're gone, Mom and her sons take over Planet Express.  They find Farnsworth, he's okay and was wearing a laser proof vest all along.  Everyone takes him home only to find that Mom and her sons took over.  Mom has Walt, Larry, and Ignar tie up everyone and sedate Farnsworth.  They take Fry a hostage and he gets tied up, too.  Mom and her sons get away with Fry and their first stop is Washington.  Mom takes over the power grid and Nixon and Spiro Agnew's head are afraid of her.  All the electricity is in Mom's power now.  Then Mom and her sons fly to her Cloud Castle Momsanto.

Mom rules the Earth from Momsanto and Fry is all tied up in the tower.   Mom even tells of her laws on TV. Bender frees everyone from ropes, and Farnsworth wakes up.  Leela vows to take down Mom.  Bender wants to come, but Leela wants to do it alone.  Hermes and Amy stay behind, and Zoidberg goes to jail for breaking Mom's laws.  Farnsworth gives Leela a whole bunch of army weapons and gear.  Leela goes to Momsanto on the PE Ship and Bender sneaks aboard.  (stubborn, isn't he?)   Once Leela arrives, Mom runs away and Walt, Larry, and Ignar try to get her.  She gets into a laser gun fight with the three of them.  Leela overpowers them, and vice versa.  Leela even chases them down a Rogue's Gallery of video game heroes and Leela shoots up the pictures of Mario and Sonic.

Leela finishes off Walt, Larry, and Ignar and demands they surrender.  Once the gunfight is done.  Then Mom sneaks up behind Leela and tells her to surrender or she'll kill her.  Just when Mom is about to shoot Leela, Bender shoots Mom and her sons with a tranquillzer gun and saves Leela.  Bender frees Fry.  And Bender brags to Leela about saving her and Fry.   Then Fry, Leela, and Bender get some dynamite, blow up Momsanto and take Mom and her sons back home.  Then Bender gets a ticker tape parade for his heroics.    And Leela lets him have his victory even though she was the one that did all the work.

No offense to anyone, but _this_ would have been a better idea for an episode about Mom and her sons and Momsanto for the last season.   Hell, issue #69 would have been a better episode!

No it wouldn't have been a better idea, since it's just an episode of Family Guy with Futurama characters instead. Also, how come it's okay for everyone else to get captured and tortured by the bad guys, but if it happens to Leela the writers are just evil sadistic misogynists?

Had this been an actual episode, you would have been personally offended that the writers let Bender have the victory even though Leela did all the work. You'd constantly be coming up with fanfiction ideas in which the exact same thing happens except that Leela gets the victory after saving Bender or some nonsense.

Well, Leela got captured and tied up too in this idea, as did Bender, Amy, Hermes, and Zoidberg.  And it is like Bender to take the credit over something Leela has done. It would not offend me in the least if Bender took credit for something Leela did.

Taking existing tv shows and substituting the characters with Futurama characters is not "writing an idea."

You clearly have some sort of passion for writing, why not try coming up with something original?

Here's some more....

How about something where Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg go to a Sithal War planet?  Zoidberg is a confederate and Fry and Bender are from the north?  There can even be a part where they try to steal some plans from the enemy and do a song and dance montage in blackface.

Or maybe one where Fry, Zoidberg, and Bender are janitors cleaning an office.  Along the way, they get mistaken for robot doctors when Roberto gets shot and that spark gang Bender joined in FWH can make Fry and Bender try to fix his wound.   They replace Roberto (who was under a blanket) with Zoidberg after Roberto falls out the window.  Then Off. Smitty and URL arrive and tell a black watchman to be on the lookout for gangsters.    After that, the spark gang get arrested by Off. Smitty and URL.   Then they take cover in the basement get have a run in with a black watchman, Zoidberg falls into some cement.  Then the cement covered Zoidberg can come up to the black security guard and he can say to Zoidberg, "Yo Sho Is Ugly!"  Then Zoidberg talks to him, and the black watchman screams!   Fry, Bender, and Zoidberg all run away screaming.
